Psalm 138
A psalm of David.
1Lord, I will praise you with all my heart.
In front of those who think they are gods
I will sing praise to you.
2I will bow down facing your holy temple.
I will praise your name,
because you are always loving and faithful.
You have honored your holy word
even more than your own fame.
3When I called out to you, you answered me.
You made me strong and brave.
4Lord, may all the kings on earth praise you
when they hear about what you have decided.
5Lord, may they sing about what you have done,
because your glory is great.
6Though the Lord is high above all, he cares for the lowly.
Though he is in heaven above, he sees them on earth below.
7Trouble is all around me,
but you keep me alive.
You reach out your hand to put a stop to the anger of my enemies.
With your powerful right hand you save me.
8Lord, you will show that I was right to trust you.
Lord, your faithful love continues forever.
You have done so much for us, so don’t stop now.

Salmo de David.
1Senhor, quero louvar-te de todo o meu coração.
Mesmo na presença dos falsos deuses,
te cantarei louvores!
2Em direção ao teu santo templo,
darei honra ao teu nome,
por causa da tua bondade e da tua fidelidade,
pois as tuas promessas se sustentam em toda a honra do teu nome.
3Quando clamei a ti, respondeste-me;
encorajaste-me, dando força à minha alma.
4Todos os chefes das nações da Terra te louvarão, Senhor,
quando prestarem atenção à tua palavra.
5Cantarão hinos descrevendo o bem do teu caminho, Senhor,
pois grande é a glória do Senhor!
6Apesar do Senhor ser tão sublime,
dá atenção às pessoas mais simples;
mas o orgulhoso, a esse mantém-no à distância!
7Ainda que me encontre rodeado de angústias,
hás de dar-me uma vida nova.
A tua mão susterá o ímpeto dos meus inimigos
e com a tua mão direita me salvarás.
8O Senhor saberá aperfeiçoar a minha vida.
O teu amor, Senhor, é eterno.
Não desampares pois a obra das tuas mãos!
