1Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good.
His faithful love continues forever.
2Give thanks to the greatest God of all.

3Give thanks to the most powerful Lord of all.

4Give thanks to the only one who can do great miracles.
His faithful love continues forever.
5By his understanding he made the heavens.
His faithful love continues forever.
6He spread out the earth on the waters.
His faithful love continues forever.
7He made the great lights in the sky.
His faithful love continues forever.
8He made the sun to rule over the day.
His faithful love continues forever.
9He made the moon and stars to rule over the night.
His faithful love continues forever.
10Give thanks to the God who killed the oldest son of each family in Egypt.
His faithful love continues forever.
11He brought the people of Israel out of Egypt.
His faithful love continues forever.
12He did it by reaching out his mighty hand and powerful arm.
His faithful love continues forever.
13Give thanks to the God who parted the waters of the Red Sea.
His faithful love continues forever.
14He brought Israel through the middle of it.
His faithful love continues forever.
15But he swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea.
His faithful love continues forever.
16Give thanks to the God who led his people through the desert.
His faithful love continues forever.
17He killed great kings.
His faithful love continues forever.
18He struck down mighty kings.
His faithful love continues forever.
19He killed Sihon, the king of the Amorites.
His faithful love continues forever.
20He killed Og, the king of Bashan.
His faithful love continues forever.
21He gave their land as a gift.
His faithful love continues forever.
22He gave it as a gift to his servant Israel.

23Give thanks to the God who remembered us when things were going badly.

24He set us free from our enemies.

25He gives food to every creature.
His faithful love continues forever.
26Give thanks to the God of heaven.

Псалом 136
1У рек Вавилона мы сидели и плакали,
когда вспоминали Сион.
2Там на ивах мы повесили наши арфы.
3Там пленившие нас требовали от нас песен,
притеснители наши требовали от нас веселья,
говоря: «Спойте нам одну из песен Сиона».
4Как нам петь песнь Господа
в чужой земле?
5Если я забуду тебя, Иерусалим,
то пусть забудет моя правая рука свои умения.
6Если не буду помнить тебя,
то пусть прилипнет язык мой к небу,
если не поставлю Иерусалим
во главе своего веселья.
7Припомни, Господи, сыновей Эдома
в день захвата вавилонянами Иерусалима,
как они говорили: «Разрушайте,
разрушайте его до основания!»
8Дочь Вавилона136:8 Дочь Вавилона – олицетворение Вавилона., обреченная на разорение:
блажен тот, кто воздаст тебе
за то, что ты сделала с нами.
9Блажен тот, кто возьмет и разобьет
твоих младенцев о камень.
