Psalm 118
1Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good.
His faithful love continues forever.
2Let the people of Israel say,
“His faithful love continues forever.”
3Let the priests of Aaron say,
“His faithful love continues forever.”
4Let those who have respect for the Lord say,
“His faithful love continues forever.”
5When I was in great trouble, I cried out to the Lord.
He answered me and set me free from my trouble.
6The Lord is with me. I will not be afraid.
What can mere human beings do to me?
7The Lord is with me. He helps me.
I win the battle over my enemies.
8It is better to go to the Lord for safety
than to trust in mere human beings.
9It is better to go to the Lord for safety
than to trust in human leaders.
10The nations were all around me.
But by the Lord’s power I destroyed them.
11They were around me on every side.
But by the Lord’s power I destroyed them.
12They attacked me like swarms of bees.
But they were burned up as quickly as thorns in a fire.
By the Lord’s power I destroyed them.
13I was pushed back and about to be killed.
But the Lord helped me.
14The Lord gives me strength and makes me secure.
He has saved me.
15Shouts of joy ring out in the tents of godly people.
They praise him for his help in battle.
They shout, “The Lord’s powerful right hand has done mighty things!
16The Lord’s powerful right hand has won the battle!
The Lord’s powerful right hand has done mighty things!”
17I will not die but live.
I will talk about what the Lord has done.
18The Lord has really punished me.
But he didn’t let me die.
19Open for me the gates where the godly can go in.
I will enter and give thanks to the Lord.
20This is the gate of the Lord.
Only those who do what is right can go through it.
21Lord, I will give thanks to you, because you answered me.
You have saved me.
22The stone the builders didn’t accept
has become the most important stone of all.
23The Lord has done it.
It is wonderful in our eyes.
24The Lord has done it on this day.
Let us be joyful today and be glad.
25Lord, save us.
Lord, give us success.
26Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
From the temple of the Lord we bless you.
27The Lord is God.
He has been good to us.
Take branches in your hands. Join in the march on the day of the feast.
March up to the corners of the altar.
28You are my God, and I will praise you.

Tacksägelse för Herrens nåd och hjälp
1Prisa Herren, för han är god!
Hans nåd varar i evighet.
2Säg, Israel:
”Hans nåd varar i evighet!”

”Hans nåd varar i evighet!”
4Säg, ni som fruktar Herren:
”Hans nåd varar i evighet!”
5I mitt trångmål ropade jag till Herren,
och han svarade mig
och förde mig ut till en rymlig plats.
6Herren är med mig.
Jag är inte rädd.
Vad kan en människa göra mot mig?
7Herren är med mig, och han hjälper mig.
Jag ska triumfera över dem som hatar mig.
8Det är bättre att ta sin tillflykt till Herren
än att lita på människor.
9Det är bättre att ta sin tillflykt till Herren
än lita på personer i maktposition.
10Jag var omringad av alla folk,
men i Herrens namn höll jag dem ifrån mig.
11Jag var fullständigt omringad,
men i Herrens namn höll jag dem ifrån mig.
12De svärmade runt mig som bin,
men de slocknade lika fort som en eld bland törnbuskar.
I Herrens namn höll jag dem borta från mitt liv.
13De knuffade mig hårt för att få mig att falla,
men Herren hjälpte mig.
14Herren är min styrka och min sång,
han har blivit min räddning.
15Glädje och segerrop hörs från de rättfärdigas tält:
”Herren har med makt utfört väldiga gärningar.
16Herren har lyft sin makts hand.
Herren har med makt utfört väldiga gärningar.”
17Jag behöver inte dö,
utan jag får leva och berätta om Herrens gärningar.
18Herren har tuktat mig hårt,
men inte överlämnat mig åt döden.
19Öppna rättfärdighetens portar för mig!
Jag vill gå in genom dem och prisa Herren.
20Det här är Herrens port,
de rättfärdiga får gå in genom den.
21Jag prisar dig för att du har besvarat min bön
och räddat mig.
22Den sten som inte dög åt byggnadsarbetarna
har blivit en hörnsten.
23Detta är Herrens verk
och förunderligt i våra ögon.
24Detta är dagen då Herren har agerat,
låt oss därför vara glada och jubla.
