Psalm 118
1Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good.
His faithful love continues forever.
2Let the people of Israel say,
“His faithful love continues forever.”
3Let the priests of Aaron say,
“His faithful love continues forever.”
4Let those who have respect for the Lord say,
“His faithful love continues forever.”
5When I was in great trouble, I cried out to the Lord.
He answered me and set me free from my trouble.
6The Lord is with me. I will not be afraid.
What can mere human beings do to me?
7The Lord is with me. He helps me.
I win the battle over my enemies.
8It is better to go to the Lord for safety
than to trust in mere human beings.
9It is better to go to the Lord for safety
than to trust in human leaders.
10The nations were all around me.
But by the Lord’s power I destroyed them.
11They were around me on every side.
But by the Lord’s power I destroyed them.
12They attacked me like swarms of bees.
But they were burned up as quickly as thorns in a fire.
By the Lord’s power I destroyed them.
13I was pushed back and about to be killed.
But the Lord helped me.
14The Lord gives me strength and makes me secure.
He has saved me.
15Shouts of joy ring out in the tents of godly people.
They praise him for his help in battle.
They shout, “The Lord’s powerful right hand has done mighty things!
16The Lord’s powerful right hand has won the battle!
The Lord’s powerful right hand has done mighty things!”
17I will not die but live.
I will talk about what the Lord has done.
18The Lord has really punished me.
But he didn’t let me die.
19Open for me the gates where the godly can go in.
I will enter and give thanks to the Lord.
20This is the gate of the Lord.
Only those who do what is right can go through it.
21Lord, I will give thanks to you, because you answered me.
You have saved me.
22The stone the builders didn’t accept
has become the most important stone of all.
23The Lord has done it.
It is wonderful in our eyes.
24The Lord has done it on this day.
Let us be joyful today and be glad.
25Lord, save us.
Lord, give us success.
26Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
From the temple of the Lord we bless you.
27The Lord is God.
He has been good to us.
Take branches in your hands. Join in the march on the day of the feast.
March up to the corners of the altar.
28You are my God, and I will praise you.
You are my God, and I will honor you.

Psalmul 118
1Mulțumiți Domnului, căci este bun,
căci în veac ține îndurarea Lui!
2Israel să zică:
„Căci în veac ține îndurarea Lui!“
3Casa lui Aaron să zică:
„Căci în veac ține îndurarea Lui!“
4Cei ce se tem de Domnul să zică:
„Căci în veac ține îndurarea Lui!“
5În mijlocul necazului L‑am chemat pe Domnul5 Ebr.: YAH, o formă prescurtată a tetragramei divine YHWH, formă care apare în componența mai multor sintagme ebraice. Vezi și v. 14, 17-19.,
și Domnul mi‑a răspuns și m‑a scos la loc larg.
6Domnul este de partea mea. Nu mă voi teme!
Ce‑mi va face omul?!
7Domnul este de partea mea. El este ajutorul meu.
De aceea voi privi triumfător la cei ce mă urăsc.
8Mai bine să te adăpostești în Domnul,
decât să te încrezi în om.
9Mai bine să te adăpostești în Domnul,
decât să te încrezi în cei nobili.
10Toate neamurile mă înconjurau,
dar le‑am îndepărtat în Numele Domnului.
11Mă încercuiau, da, mă împresurau,
dar le‑am îndepărtat în Numele Domnului.
12Mă împresurau ca niște albine,
dar au fost stinse ca un foc de paie:
le‑am îndepărtat în Numele Domnului.
13Eram împins cu putere, ca să cad,
dar Domnul m‑a ajutat.
14Domnul este tăria și cântarea mea;
El a devenit izbăvirea mea.
15Strigăt de bucurie și de izbăvire
se află în corturile celor drepți.
Dreapta Domnului aduce victoria.
16Dreapta Domnului este înălțată;
dreapta Domnului aduce victoria.
17Nu voi muri, ci voi trăi
și voi povesti lucrările Domnului.
18Domnul m‑a disciplinat aspru,
dar nu m‑a dat morții.
19Deschideți‑mi porțile dreptății,
ca să intru să‑I mulțumesc Domnului!
20Aceasta este poarta Domnului;
cei drepți intră pe ea.
21Îți voi mulțumi, căci mi‑ai răspuns
și mi‑ai dat izbăvire.
22Piatra pe care au respins‑o zidarii,
a devenit Piatra din capul unghiului.
23Domnul a făcut acest lucru;
el este minunat în ochii noștri.
24Aceasta este ziua pe care a făcut‑o Domnul.
Să ne bucurăm și să ne veselim în ea!
25Oh, Doamne, Te rugăm, izbăvește!
Oh, Doamne, Te rugăm, dă victorie!
26Binecuvântat este Cel Ce vine în Numele Domnului!
Vă binecuvântăm din Casa Domnului.
27Domnul este Dumnezeu
și El ne luminează.
Legați cu funii jertfa de sărbătoare
și aduceți‑o până la coarnele altarului!27 Sau: Alăturați‑vă sărbătorii cu ramuri / și veniți până la coarnele altarului!
28Tu ești Dumnezeul meu și Îți voi mulțumi!
Tu ești Dumnezeul meu și Te voi înălța!
29Mulțumiți Domnului, căci este bun,
căci în veac ține îndurarea Lui!
