Psalm 113
1Praise the Lord.
Praise him, you who serve the Lord.
Praise the name of the Lord.
2Let us praise the name of the Lord,
both now and forever.
3From the sunrise in the east to the sunset in the west,
may the name of the Lord be praised.
4The Lord is honored over all the nations.
His glory reaches to the highest heavens.
5Who is like the Lord our God?
He sits on his throne in heaven.
6He bends down to look
at the heavens and the earth.
7He raises poor people up from the trash pile.
He lifts needy people out of the ashes.
8He causes them to sit with princes.
He causes them to sit with the princes of his people.
9He gives children to the woman who doesn’t have any children.
He makes her a happy mother in her own home.
Praise the Lord.

Dienaars van de Here,
loof en prijs zijn naam!
2Laat de naam van de Here
worden geprezen en geëerd,
nu en tot in eeuwigheid.
3Over de hele aarde
moet de naam van de Here worden geprezen.
4De Here staat boven alle mensen en volken.
Hoog boven de hemelen troont zijn heerlijkheid.
5Is iemand te vergelijken met de Here?
Met onze God, die zo onmeetbaar hoog woont?
6Met onze God, die zo heel laag moet neerzien
om te zien wat in de hemel en op aarde gebeurt?
7Hij helpt kleine mensen opstaan uit het stof
en armen tilt Hij op uit de modder.
8Hij laat hen zitten bij de vooraanstaanden uit het volk.
9Onvruchtbare vrouwen verandert Hij in gelukkige moeders.
