Psalm 111
1Praise the Lord.
I will praise the Lord with all my heart.
I will praise him where honest people gather for worship.
2The Lord has done great things.
All who take delight in those things think deeply about them.
3What he does shows his glory and majesty.
He will always do what is right.
4The Lord causes his wonders to be remembered.
He is kind and tender.
5He provides food for those who have respect for him.
He remembers his covenant forever.
6He has shown his people what his power can do.
He has given them the lands of other nations.
7He is faithful and right in everything he does.
All his rules can be trusted.
8They will stand firm for ever and ever.
They were given by the Lord.
He is faithful and honest.
9He set his people free.
He made a covenant with them that will last forever.
His name is holy and wonderful.
10If you really want to become wise,
you must begin by having respect for the Lord.
All those who follow his rules have good understanding.
People should praise him forever.
Psalmul 111Titlu. Un psalm în acrostih (în textul ebraic fiecare vers începe cu o literă a alfabetului ebraic, în ordinea literelor).
1Lăudați‑L pe Domnul!1 Ebr.: Hallelu Yah!
Îi voi mulțumi Domnului din toată inima mea,
în sfatul celor drepți și în comunitate!
2Mari sunt lucrările Domnului;
ele sunt cercetate de toți cei ce găsesc plăcere în ele.
3Plină de măreție și splendoare este lucrarea Lui,
iar dreptatea Lui rămâne pe vecie.
4El a făcut minuni spre aducere-aminte.
Domnul este plin de har și milostiv!
5El dă hrană celor ce se tem de El;
El Își aduce întotdeauna aminte de legământul Său.
6El a arătat puterea lucrărilor Sale poporului Său,
dându‑le drept moștenire posesiunile neamurilor.
7Lucrările mâinilor Sale sunt credincioșie și judecată;
toate orânduirile Sale sunt demne de încredere,
8sunt întărite pe veci de veci,
fiind făcute în credincioșie și dreptate.
9El a trimis poporului Său răscumpărarea;
Și‑a decretat legământul pe vecie.
Sfânt și de temut este Numele Lui!
10Teama de Domnul este începutul înțelepciunii.
Toți cei ce fac aceste lucruri10 Cu referire, probabil, la legământ (v. 9) și la teama de Domnul. au un discernământ bun.
Lauda Lui rămâne pe vecie.
