A River Will Flow From the Temple
1The man brought me back to the entrance to the temple. I saw water flowing east from under a temple gateway. The temple faced east. The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple. It was flowing south of the altar. 2Then he brought me out through the north gate of the outer courtyard. He led me around the outside to the outer gate that faced east. The water was flowing from the south side of the east gate.
3Then the man went toward the east. He had a measuring line in his hand. He measured off 1,700 feet. He led me through water that was up to my ankles. 4Then he measured off another 1,700 feet. He led me through water that was up to my knees. Then he measured off another 1,700 feet. He led me through water that was up to my waist. 5Then he measured off another 1,700 feet. But now it was a river that I could not go across. The water had risen so high that it was deep enough to swim in. 6He asked me, “Son of man, do you see this?”
Then he led me back to the bank of the river. 7When I arrived there, I saw many trees. They were on both sides of the river. 8The man said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern territory. It goes down into the Arabah Valley. There it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into it, the salt water there becomes fresh. 9Many creatures will live where the river flows. It will have many schools of fish. This water flows there and makes the salt water fresh. So where the river flows everything will live. 10People will stand along the shore to fish. From En Gedi all the way to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading fishnets. The Dead Sea will have many kinds of fish. They will be like the fish in the Mediterranean Sea. 11But none of the swamps will have fresh water in them. They will stay salty. 12Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not dry up. The trees will always have fruit on them. Every month they will bear fruit. The water from the temple will flow to them. Their fruit will be used for food. And their leaves will be used for healing.”
The Borders of the Land
13Here is what the Lord and King says. “People of Israel, here are the borders of the land that you will divide up. You will divide up the land among the 12 tribes of Israel. Each tribe will receive a share. But the family of Joseph will have two shares. 14Divide the land into equal parts. Long ago I raised my hand and made a promise. I promised to give the land to your people of long ago. So all of it will belong to you.
15“Here are the borders of the land.
“On the north side the border will start at the Mediterranean Sea. It will go by the Hethlon road past Lebo Hamath. Then it will continue on to Zedad, 16Berothah and Sibraim. Sibraim is between Damascus and Hamath. The border will reach all the way to Hazer Hattikon. It is right next to Hauran. 17The border will go from the sea to Hazar Enan. It will run north of Damascus and south of Hamath. This will be the northern border.
18On the east side the border will run between Hauran and Damascus. It will continue along the Jordan River between Gilead and the land of Israel. It will reach to the Dead Sea and all the way to Tamar. This will be the eastern border.
19On the south side the border will start at Tamar. It will reach all the way to the waters of Meribah Kadesh. Then it will run along the Wadi of Egypt. It will end at the Mediterranean Sea. This will be the southern border.
20On the west side, the Mediterranean Sea will be the border. It will go to a point across from Lebo Hamath. This will be the western border.
21“You must divide up this land among yourselves. Do this based on the number of men in your tribes. 22Each of the tribes must receive a share of the land. You must also give some land to the outsiders who live among you and who have children. Treat them as if they had been born in Israel. Let them have some land among your tribes. 23Outsiders can live in the land of any tribe. There you must give them their share,” announces the Lord and King.
As Águas que Saíam do Templo
1O homem levou-me de volta à entrada do templo, e vi água saindo de debaixo da soleira do templo e indo para o leste, pois o templo estava voltado para o oriente. A água descia de debaixo do lado sul do templo, ao sul do altar. 2Ele então me levou para fora, pela porta norte, e conduziu-me pelo lado de fora até a porta externa que dá para o leste, e a água fluía do lado sul.
3O homem foi para o lado leste com uma linha de medir na mão e, enquanto ia, mediu quinhentos metros47.3 Hebraico: 1.000 côvados; também nos versículos 4 e 5. e levou-me pela água, que batia no tornozelo. 4Ele mediu mais quinhentos metros e levou-me pela água, que chegava ao joelho. Mediu mais quinhentos e levou-me pela água, que batia na cintura. 5Mediu mais quinhentos, mas agora era um rio que eu não conseguia atravessar, porque a água havia aumentado e era tão profunda que só se podia atravessar a nado; era um rio que não se podia atravessar andando. 6Ele me perguntou: “Filho do homem, você vê isto?”
Levou-me então de volta à margem do rio. 7Quando ali cheguei, vi muitas árvores em cada lado do rio. 8Ele me disse: “Esta água flui na direção da região situada a leste e desce até a Arabá47.8 Ou até o vale do Jordão, onde entra no Mar47.8 Isto é, o mar Morto; também no versículo 17.. Quando deságua no Mar, a água ali é saneada. 9Por onde passar o rio haverá todo tipo de animais e de peixes. Porque essa água flui para lá e saneia a água salgada; de modo que onde o rio fluir tudo viverá. 10Pescadores estarão ao longo do litoral; desde En-Gedi até En-Eglaim haverá locais próprios para estender as redes. Os peixes serão de muitos tipos, como os peixes do mar Grande47.10 Isto é, o mar Mediterrâneo; também nos versículos 15, 19, 20 e em 48.28.. 11Mas os charcos e os pântanos não ficarão saneados; serão deixados para o sal. 12Árvores frutíferas de toda espécie crescerão em ambas as margens do rio. Suas folhas não murcharão e os seus frutos não cairão. Todo mês produzirão, porque a água vinda do santuário chega a elas. Seus frutos servirão de comida; suas folhas, de remédio”.
As Fronteiras da Terra
13Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: “Estas são as fronteiras pelas quais vocês devem dividir a terra como herança entre as doze tribos de Israel, com duas porções para José. 14Vocês a dividirão igualmente entre elas. Visto que eu jurei de mão erguida que a daria aos seus antepassados, esta terra se tornará herança de vocês.
15“Esta é a fronteira da terra:
“No lado norte ela irá desde o mar Grande, indo pela estrada de Hetlom, passando por Lebo-Hamate até Zedade, 16Berota47.15,16 Com base na Septuaginta e em Ezequiel 48.1. O Texto Massorético diz estrada de Hetlom que entra em Zedade, 16 Hamate, Berota. e Sibraim, que fica na fronteira entre Damasco e Hamate, e indo até Hazer-Haticom, que fica na extremidade de Haurã. 17A fronteira se estenderá desde o Mar até Hazar-Enã, ao longo da fronteira norte de Damasco, com a fronteira de Hamate ao norte. Essa será a fronteira norte.
18No lado leste a fronteira irá entre Haurã e Damasco, ao longo do Jordão entre Gileade e a terra de Israel, até o mar oriental, prosseguindo até Tamar.47.18 Conforme a Septuaginta e a Versão Siríaca. O Texto Massorético diz Israel. Vocês medirão até o mar oriental. Essa será a fronteira leste.
19No lado sul ela irá desde Tamar até as águas de Meribá-Cades, prosseguindo então ao longo do ribeiro do Egito até o mar Grande. Essa será a fronteira sul.
20No lado oeste, o mar Grande será a fronteira até defronte de Lebo-Hamate. Essa será a fronteira oeste.
21“Distribuam essa terra entre vocês de acordo com as tribos de Israel. 22Vocês a distribuirão como herança para vocês mesmos e para os estrangeiros residentes no meio de vocês e que tenham filhos. Vocês os considerarão como israelitas de nascimento; com vocês, a eles deverá ser designada uma herança entre as tribos de Israel. 23Qualquer que seja a tribo na qual o estrangeiro se instale, ali vocês lhe darão a herança que lhe cabe”. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.
