1Suppose you see your neighbor’s ox or sheep wandering away. Then don’t act as if you didn’t see it. Instead, make sure you take it back to its owner. 2Its owner might not live near you. Or you might not know who owns it. So take the animal home with you. Keep it until the owner comes looking for it. Then give it back to them. 3Do the same thing if you find their donkey, coat or anything they have lost. Don’t act as if you didn’t see it.
4Suppose you see your neighbor’s donkey or ox that has fallen down on the road. Then don’t act as if you didn’t see it. Help the owner get it up on its feet again.
5A woman must not wear men’s clothes. And a man must not wear women’s clothes. The Lord your God hates it when anyone does this.
6Suppose you happen to find a bird’s nest beside the road. It might be in a tree or on the ground. And suppose the mother bird is sitting on her little birds or on the eggs. Then don’t take the mother along with the little ones. 7You can take the little ones. But make sure you let the mother go. Then things will go well with you. You will live for a long time.
8If you build a new house, put a low wall around the edge of your roof. Then you won’t be responsible if someone falls off your roof and dies.
9Don’t plant two kinds of seeds in your vineyard. If you do, the crops you grow there will be impure. Your grapes will also be impure.
10Don’t let an ox and a donkey pull the same plow together.
11Don’t wear clothes made out of wool and linen woven together.
12Make tassels on the four corners of the coat you wear.
Breaking Marriage Laws
13Suppose a man marries a woman and sleeps with her. But then he doesn’t like her. 14So he tells lies about her and says she’s a bad woman. He says, “I married this woman. But when I slept with her, I discovered she wasn’t a virgin.” 15Then the young woman’s parents must bring proof that she was a virgin. They must give the proof to the elders at the gate of the town. 16Her father will speak to the elders. He’ll say, “I gave my daughter to this man to be his wife. But he doesn’t like her. 17So now he has told lies about her. He has said, ‘I discovered that your daughter wasn’t a virgin.’ But here’s the proof that my daughter was a virgin.” Then her parents will show the elders of the town the cloth that has her blood on it. 18The elders will punish the man. 19They’ll make him weigh out two and a half pounds of silver. They’ll give it to the young woman’s father. That’s because the man has said an Israelite virgin is a bad woman. She will continue to be his wife. He must not divorce her as long as he lives.
20But suppose the charge is true. And there isn’t any proof that the young woman was a virgin. 21Then she must be brought to the door of her father’s house. There the people of her town will put her to death by throwing stones at her. She has done a very terrible thing in Israel. She has slept with a man before she was married. Get rid of that evil person.
22Suppose a man is seen sleeping with another man’s wife. Then the man and the woman must both die. Get rid of those evil people.
23Suppose a man happens to see a virgin in a town. And she has promised to marry another man. But the man who happens to see her sleeps with her. 24Then you must take both of them to the gate of that town. You must put them to death by throwing stones at them. You must kill the young woman because she was in a town and didn’t scream for help. And you must kill the man because he slept with another man’s wife. Get rid of those evil people.
25But suppose a man happens to see a young woman out in the country. And she has promised to marry another man. But the man who happens to see her rapes her. Then only the man who has done that will die. 26Don’t do anything to the woman. She hasn’t committed a sin worthy of death. That case is like the case of someone who attacks and murders a neighbor. 27The man found the young woman out in the country. And she screamed for help. But there wasn’t anyone around who could save her.
28Suppose a man happens to see a virgin who hasn’t promised to marry another man. And the man who happens to see her rapes her. But someone discovers them. 29Then the man must weigh out 20 ounces of silver. He must give it to her father. The man must marry the young woman, because he raped her. And he can never divorce her as long as he lives.
30A man must not marry his stepmother. He must not bring shame on his father by sleeping with her.

Unya ihatag kini kaniya. 3Mao usab kini ang inyong himuon sa asno o sa panapton o sa bisan unsang butang nga nawala sa imong isigka-Israelinhon. Ayaw ninyo kini pasagdi.
4“Kon makita mo nga ang asno o ang baka sa imong isigka-Israelinhon nalup-og sa dalan, ayaw kini pasagdi. Tabangi gayod ang tag-iya sa pagpatindog niini.
5“Ang babaye kinahanglan nga dili magsul-ob ug bisti sa lalaki o ang lalaki magsul-ob ug bisti sa babaye, kay mangil-ad sa Ginoo nga inyong Dios ang nagahimo niini.
6“Kon may makita kamong salag sa langgam daplin sa dalan, sa kahoy o sa yuta, ug may mga pispis o mga itlog nga gilumloman sa inahan, ayaw kuhaa ang inahan uban sa mga pispis. 7Mahimo ninyong kuhaon ang mga pispis, apan kinahanglang buhian ninyo ang inahan, aron mamaayo ang inyong kahimtang ug magkinabuhi kamog dugay.
8“Kon magpatukod kamo ug balay, kinahanglang butangan ninyo ug barandilya ang palibot sa inyong patag nga atop, aron wala kamoy tulubagon kon adunay mahulog gikan sa inyong atop ug mamatay.
9“Ayaw kamo pagtanom ug lain pang matang sa binhi sa tamnanan sa ubas. Kon himuon ninyo kini, mahimong iya na sa templo ang bunga sa inyong gitanom ug apil ang bunga sa inyong ubas.
10“Ayaw ipares ang baka ug ang asno sa pagdaro. 11Ayaw kamo pagsul-ob ug bisti nga hinimo gikan sa duha ka klase sa panapton.
12“Butangan ninyo ug ribeti ang upat ka kilid sa panggawas nga bisti.
Ang Kasugoan bahin sa Pagkaputli
13“Pananglit gipangasawa sa usa ka tawo ang usa ka babaye, ug pagkahuman nila ug dulog, nasuko siya sa iyang asawa, 14ug gibutang-butangan niya kini, ug moingon siya, ‘Nadiskobrehan ko sa akong pagdulog sa akong asawa nga dili na siya putli.’ 15Unya ang mga ginikanan sa babaye moadto sa mga tigdumala sa lungsod didto sa may ganghaan sa lungsod. Magdala sila sa ebidensya nga putli pa ang ilang anak. 16Unya moingon ang amahan sa babaye ngadto sa mga tigdumala, ‘Gipaasawa ko ang akong anak niining tawhana ug karon nasuko siya sa akong anak. 17Gibutang-butangan niya ang akong anak pinaagi sa pagsulti nga dili na kini putli sa dihang gipangasawa niya. Apan ania ang ebidensya nga putli ang akong anak.’ Unya ipakita sa ginikanan ngadto sa mga tigdumala ang hapin sa higdaanan sa magtiayon nga may dugo. 18Unya dakpon sa mga tigdumala ang lalaki ug silotan. 19Pamultahon nila kini ug 100 ka buok nga salapi ug ihatag kini sa amahan sa babaye, kay gipakaulawan niya ang usa ka putli nga babayeng Israelinhon. Ug kinahanglang dili gayod niya bulagan ang babaye samtang buhi pa siya.
20“Apan kon tinuod ang giingon sa bana ug walay mapakitang ebidensya nga putli ang babaye, 21dad-on ang maong babaye atubangan sa balay sa iyang amahan ug didto batohon sa mga lalaki sa lungsod hangtod nga mamatay kini. Makauulaw nga butang ang iyang gihimo sa Israel pinaagi sa pagpakighilawas gawas sa kaminyoon samtang anaa pa siya sa poder sa iyang amahan. Kinahanglan wad-on ninyo kining daotang buhat diha kaninyo.
22“Kon ang usa ka tawo madakpan nga nakighilawas sa babayeng minyo, silang duha sa babaye kinahanglan patyon. Kinahanglan wad-on ninyo kining daotang buhat sa Israel.
23“Kon ang usa ka tawo nakighilawas sa usa ka babaye nga kaslonon, ug nahitabo kini sa usa ka lungsod, 24dad-on ninyo silang duha sa ganghaan sa lungsod ug batohon hangtod mamatay. Patyon ang babaye kay bisan ug didto siya sa lungsod wala siya mosinggit aron pagpangayo ug tabang. Patyon usab ang lalaki tungod kay nakighilawas siya sa babaye nga kaslonon. Kinahanglan wad-on ninyo kining daotang buhat diha kaninyo.
25“Apan kon gilugos sa lalaki ang babaye nga kaslonon didto sa gawas sa lungsod, ang lalaki lang ang patyon. 26Ayaw ninyo hilabti ang babaye; wala siya nakahimog sala nga angay silotan sa kamatayon. Kini nga kaso sama sa kaso sa tawo nga misulong ug mipatay sa iyang isigka-tawo. 27Tungod kay sa gawas sa lungsod gilugos ang babaye, bisan pa ug misinggit siya sa pagpangayo ug tabang, walay makatabang kaniya.
28“Kon madakpan ang usa ka lalaki nga gilugos niya ang usa ka babaye nga dili kaslonon, 29magbayad ang lalaki ug 50 ka buok nga pilak ngadto sa amahan sa babaye. Kinahanglan pakaslan niya ang babaye tungod kay gipanamastamasan niya ang pagkababaye niini, ug kinahanglan dili gayod niya kini bulagan samtang buhi pa siya.
30“Kinahanglan ang anak dili makighilawas sa asawa sa iyang amahan, kay maulawan ang iyang amahan.
