1Here are the names of the sons of Israel. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, 2Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, Asher.
The Family of Judah
The Family Line From Judah’s Sons to Hezron’s Sons
3The sons of Judah were
Er, Onan and Shelah. A woman from Canaan had these three sons by him. She was the daughter of Shua.
Er was Judah’s oldest son. He was evil in the Lord’s sight. So the Lord put him to death.
4Tamar was Judah’s daughter-in-law. She had Perez and Zerah by him.
The total number of Judah’s sons was five.
5The sons of Perez were
Hezron and Hamul.
6The sons of Zerah were
Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol and Darda. The total number of Zerah’s sons was five.
7The son of Karmi was Achar.
He brought trouble on Israel. Some things that had been set apart to the Lord in a special way to be destroyed. He took some of those things. When he did that, he disobeyed the Lord’s command.
8The son of Ethan was
Azariah.
9Hezron was the father of
Jerahmeel, Ram and Caleb.
The Family Line of Ram
10Ram was the father of Amminadab.
Amminadab was the father of Nahshon. Nahshon was the leader of the people of Judah.
11Nahshon was the father of Salmon.
Salmon was the father of Boaz.
12Boaz was the father of Obed.
And Obed was the father of Jesse.
13Jesse’s first son was
Eliab. His second son was Abinadab.
The third was Shimea. 14The fourth was Nethanel.
The fifth was Raddai. 15The sixth was Ozem.
And the seventh was David.
16Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail.
Zeruiah’s three sons were Abishai, Joab and Asahel.
17Abigail was the mother of Amasa. Amasa’s father was Jether. Jether belonged to the family line of Ishmael.
The Family Line of Caleb
18Caleb was the son of Hezron. Caleb’s wife Azubah had children by him. Jerioth also had children by him. Azubah’s sons were
Jesher, Shobab and Ardon.
19When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath. She had Hur by him.
20Hur was the father of Uri. And Uri was the father of Bezalel.
21When he was 60 years old, Hezron married the daughter of Makir. Makir was the father of Gilead. Hezron slept with his wife, and she had Segub by him.
22Segub was the father of Jair. Jair controlled 23 towns in Gilead.
23But Geshur and Aram captured Havvoth Jair. They also captured Kenath and the settlements around it. The total number of towns captured was 60.
Hezron, Segub and Jair belonged to the family line of Makir. Makir was the father of Gilead.
24Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah. Abijah was Hezron’s wife. She had Ashhur by him. Ashhur was born after Hezron died. Ashhur was the father of Tekoa.
The Family Line of Jerahmeel
25Here are the sons of Jerahmeel. He was the oldest son of Hezron.
Ram was Jerahmeel’s oldest son. Then came Bunah, Oren, Ozem and Ahijah. 26Jerahmeel had another wife. Her name was Atarah. She was the mother of Onam.
27Here are the sons of Ram. He was the oldest son of Jerahmeel. The sons of Ram were
Maaz, Jamin and Eker.
28The sons of Onam were
Shammai and Jada.
The sons of Shammai were
Nadab and Abishur. 29Abishur’s wife was named Abihail. She had Ahban and Molid by him.
30The sons of Nadab were
Seled and Appaim. Seled died without having any children.
31The son of Appaim was
Ishi. Ishi was the father of Sheshan. Sheshan was the father of Ahlai.
32The sons of Jada were
Jether and Jonathan. Jada was Shammai’s brother. Jether died without having any children.
33The sons of Jonathan were
Peleth and Zaza.
They belonged to the family line of Jerahmeel.
34Sheshan didn’t have any sons. All he had was daughters.
He had a servant from Egypt named Jarha. 35Sheshan gave his daughter to be married to his servant Jarha. She had Attai by Jarha.
36Attai was the father of Nathan.
Nathan was the father of Zabad.
37Zabad was the father of Ephlal.
Ephlal was the father of Obed.
38Obed was the father of Jehu.
Jehu was the father of Azariah.
39Azariah was the father of Helez.
Helez was the father of Eleasah.
40Eleasah was the father of Sismai.
Sismai was the father of Shallum.
41Shallum was the father of Jekamiah.
And Jekamiah was the father of Elishama.
The Family Groups of Caleb
42Caleb was the brother of Jerahmeel.
Caleb’s oldest son was Mesha. Mesha was the father of Ziph.
Caleb had another son named Mareshah. Mareshah was the father of Hebron.
43The sons of Hebron were
Korah, Tappuah, Rekem and Shema.
44Shema was the father of Raham.
Raham was the father of Jorkeam.
Rekem was the father of Shammai.
45The son of Shammai was Maon.
Maon was the father of Beth Zur.
46Caleb had a concubine named Ephah.
She was the mother of Haran, Moza and Gazez.
Haran was the father of Gazez.
47The sons of Jahdai were
Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah and Shaaph.
48Caleb had a concubine named Maakah.
She was the mother of Sheber and Tirhanah.
49She was also the mother of Shaaph and Sheva. Shaaph was the father of Madmannah.
Sheva was the father of Makbenah and Gibea.
Caleb’s daughter was Aksah.
50All of them belonged to the family line of Caleb.
Hur was the oldest son of Ephrathah.
Hur was the brother of Shobal. Shobal was the father of Kiriath Jearim. 51Hur was the father of Salma. Salma was the father of Bethlehem. Hur was also the father of Hareph. Hareph was the father of Beth Gader.
52Here is the family line of Shobal, the father of Kiriath Jearim. It included
Haroeh and half of the people of Manahath. 53It also included the family groups of Kiriath Jearim. They were the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites and Mishraites. The people of Zorah and Eshtaol belonged to these family groups.

Bethlehem, the people of Netophah, Atroth Beth Joab, half of the people of Manahath, and the Zorites. 55It also included the family groups of secretaries who lived at Jabez. They were the Tirathites, Shimeathites and Sucathites. They were the Kenites who belonged to the family line of Hammath. Hammath was the father of the family line of Rekab.

Dessa tre fick han med Bat-Shua2:3 Eller Shuas dotter. Bat betyder dotter., kanaaneiskan. Men Judas förstfödde son, Er, var ond i Herrens ögon och han dödade honom. 4Tamar, Judas sonhustru, födde honom Peres och Serach. Juda hade alltså fem söner.
5Peres söner var Hesron och Hamul.
6Serachs söner var Simri, Etan, Heman, Kalkol och Darda, alltså sammanlagt fem.
7Karmis son, Akar2:7 Se Jos. 7 där han kallas Akan. Namnet är förknippat med olycka, se Jos 7:24., var den som drog olycka över Israel när han förgrep sig på det som hade vigts åt förintelse.
8Etan hade en son, Asarja.
9Hesrons söner, som föddes åt honom, var Jerachmeel, Ram och Kalev2:9 Mer exakt Keluvaj, som är en variant av namnet Kalev..
Ram

10Ram var far till Amminadav och Amminadav var far till Nachshon, judéernas furste. 11Nachshon var far till Salma och Salma var far till Boas. 12Boas var far till Oved och Oved var far till Jishaj.
13Jishaj var far till Eliav, som var hans förstfödde, och sedan följde Avinadav, den andre, Shima, den tredje, 14Netanel, den fjärde, Raddaj, den femte 15Osem, den sjätte, och David, den sjunde. 16Deras systrar var Seruja och Avigajil. Hennes söner var Jesher, Shovav och Ardon. 19När Asuva dog, gifte sig Kalev med Efrat, som födde honom Hur. 20Hur var far till Uri och Uri var far till Besalel.
21Hesron gifte sig med dottern till Makir, Gileads far, när han var 60 år gammal och hon födde Seguv åt honom. 22Seguv var far till Jair, som hade 23 städer i Gileads land. 23Men Geshur och Aram erövrade av dessa Havvot Jair och även Kenat, med dess sextio kringliggande byar. Alla dessa var ättlingar till Makir, Gileads far.

Jerachmeel
25Jerachmeels, Hesrons förstfödde sons, söner var Ram, den förstfödde, Buna, Oren, Osem och Achia. 26Jerachmeel hade också en annan hustru som hette Atara. Hon födde Onam.
27Rams, Jerachmeels förstföddes, söner var Maas, Jamin och Eker.
28Onams söner var Shammaj och Jada.
Shammajs söner var Nadav och Avishur.
29Avishurs hustru, som hette Avihajil, födde honom sönerna Achban och Molid.
30Nadavs söner var Seled och Appajim. Seled dog barnlös, 31men Appajim fick sonen Jishi. Jishi fick sonen Sheshan och Sheshan fick Achlaj.
32Jada, Shammajs bror, fick sönerna Jeter och Jonatan. Jeter dog utan barn, 33men Jonatan fick sönerna Pelet och Sasa. Dessa var Jerachmeels ättlingar.
34Sheshan hade inga söner utan bara döttrar. Han hade en egyptisk tjänare vid namn Jarcha. 35Åt honom gav Sheshan sin dotter till hustru och hon födde Attaj åt honom.
36Attaj var far till Natan och Natan till Savad. 37Savad var far till Eflal och Eflal till Oved. 38Oved var far till Jehu och Jehu till Asarja. 39Asarja var far till Heles och Heles till Elasa. 40Elasa var far till Sismaj och Sismaj till Shallum. 41Shallum var far till Jekamja och Jekamja till Elishama.
Kalev
42Kalevs, Jerachmeels brors, förstfödde son var Mesha. Han var far till Sif, som var far till Maresha, som var far till Hebron.

46Kalevs bihustru Efa födde honom Harran, Mosa och Gases. Harran var far till Gases.
47Johdajs söner var Regem, Jotam, Geshan, Pelet, Efa och Shaaf.
48Kalevs bihustru Maaka födde honom Shever och Tirchana. 49Hon födde också Shaaf, far till Madmanna, och Sheva, far till Makbena och Giva. Kalev hade också en dotter som hette Aksa.
50Dessa var ättlingar till Kalev.
Hur, Efratas förstfödde son, fick sönerna Shoval, far till Kirjat-Jearim, 51Salma, far till Betlehem, och Haref, far till Bet-Gader.
52Ättlingar till Kirjat-Jearims far Shoval var Reaja och hälften av manachtéerna. 53Kirjat-Jearims släkter var jitréerna, putéerna, shumatéerna och mishraéerna. Från dessa kom soratéerna och eshtauléerna.
54Salmas ättlingar var Betlehem, netofatéerna, Atrot Bet Joav, den andra hälften av manachtéerna, soratéerna. 55Från honom härstammar också de skriftlärdas familjer som bodde i Jabes, nämligen tiratéerna, shimatéerna och sukatéerna. Alla dessa var keniter som härstammade från Hammat, stamfadern i Rekavs släkt.
