4The sons of Noah were Shem, Ham and Japheth.
The Sons of Japheth
5The sons of Japheth were
Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshek and Tiras.
6The sons of Gomer were
Ashkenaz, Riphath and Togarmah.
7The sons of Javan were
Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites and the Rodanites.
The Sons of Ham
8The sons of Ham were
Cush, Egypt, Put and Canaan.
9The sons of Cush were
Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah and Sabteka.
The sons of Raamah were
Sheba and Dedan.
10Cush was the father of
Nimrod. Nimrod became a mighty hero on the earth.
11Egypt was the father of
the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites and Naphtuhites. 12He was also the father of the Pathrusites, Kasluhites and Caphtorites. The Philistines came from the family line of the Kasluhites.
13Canaan was the father of Sidon. Sidon was his oldest son.
Canaan was also the father of the Hittites, 14Jebusites, Amorites and Girgashites. 15And he was the father of the Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, 16Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites.
The Sons of Shem
17The sons of Shem were
Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.
The sons of Aram were
Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek.
18Arphaxad was the father of Shelah.
Shelah was the father of Eber.
19Eber was the father of two sons.
One was named Peleg. That’s because the earth was divided up in his time. His brother was named Joktan.
20Joktan was the father of
Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth and Jerah. 21He was also the father of Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 22Obal, Abimael, Sheba, 23Ophir, Havilah and Jobab. All of them were sons of Joktan.

26Serug, Nahor, Terah,
27Abram. Abram was also called Abraham.
The Family of Abraham
28The sons of Abraham were Isaac and Ishmael.
The Family Line of Hagar
29Here are the members of the family line of Hagar.
Nebaioth was Ishmael’s oldest son. Then came Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 30Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, 31Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah.
All of them were Ishmael’s sons.

32Here are the sons born to Abraham’s concubine Keturah.
They were Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah.

Ephah, Epher, Hanok, Abida and Eldaah.
All of them were from the family line of Keturah.
The Family Line of Sarah
34Abraham was the father of Isaac.
The sons of Isaac were

Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam and Korah.
36The sons of Eliphaz were
Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz.
Timna had Amalek by Eliphaz.

Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah.
The People of Seir in Edom
38The sons of Seir were
Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer and Dishan.
39The sons of Lotan were
Hori and Homam. Timna was Lotan’s sister.
40The sons of Shobal were
Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho and Onam.
The sons of Zibeon were
Aiah and Anah.
41The son of Anah was
Dishon.
The sons of Dishon were
Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran and Keran.
42The sons of Ezer were
Bilhan, Zaavan and Akan.
The sons of Dishan were
Uz and Aran.
The Rulers of Edom
43Before Israel had a king, there were kings who ruled in Edom.
Bela was the son of Beor. Bela’s city was called Dinhabah.
44When Bela died, Jobab became the next king. Jobab was the son of Zerah from Bozrah.
45When Jobab died, Husham became the next king. Husham was from the land of the people of Teman.
46When Husham died, Hadad became the next king. Hadad was the son of Bedad. Hadad had won the battle over Midian in the country of Moab. Hadad’s city was called Avith.
47When Hadad died, Samlah became the next king. Samlah was from Masrekah.
48When Samlah died, Shaul became the next king. Shaul was from the town of Rehoboth. It was by a river.
49When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan became the next king. Baal-Hanan was the son of Akbor.
50When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad became the next king. Hadad’s city was called Pau. His wife’s name was Mehetabel. She was the daughter of Matred. Matred was the daughter of Me-Zahab. 51Hadad also died.
The chiefs of Edom were
Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, 52Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, 53Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 54Magdiel and Iram.
They were the chiefs of Edom.

(پيدايش 5:1-32، 10:1-32، 11:10-26)
1-4نخستين انسانها به ترتيب عبارت بودند از:
آدم، شيث، انوش، قينان،
مهلل‌ئيل، يارد، خنوخ،
متوشالح، لمک، نوح،
سام، حام و يافث.
5-7پسران يافث اينها بودند:
جومر، ماجوج، مادای، ياوان،
توبال، ماشک و تيراس.
پسران جومر:
اشكناز، ريفات و توجرمه.
پسران ياوان:
اليشه، ترشيش، كتيم و رودانيم.
8-9پسران حام اينها بودند:
كوش، مصرايم، فوت و كنعان.
پسران كوش:
سبا، حويله، سبته، رعمه، سبتكا.
پسران رعمه، شبا و ددان بودند.
10يكی از فرزندان كوش شخصی بود به نام نمرود كه دلاوری بزرگ و معروف شد.
11-12مصرايم جد اقوام زير بود:
لودی، عنامی، لهابی،
نفتوحی، فتروسی،
كفتوری و كسلوحی (اجداد فلسطینی‌ها).
13-16اين دو نفر، از پسران كنعان بودند:
صيدون (پسر ارشد او) و حيت.
كنعان هم جد اين قبيله‌ها بود:
يبوسی، اموری، جرجاشی،
حوی، عرقی، سينی، اروادی،
صماری و حماتی.
17پسران سام اينها بودند:
عيلام، آشور، ارفكشاد، لود،
ارام، عوص، حول، جاتر و ماشک.
18شالح پسر ارفكشاد بود و پسر شالح عابر.
19عابر دو پسر داشت: نام يكی فالج بود (فالج به معنی «تفرقه» است، زيرا در زمان او مردم دنيا متفرق شدند) و نام ديگری يقطان.
20-23پسران يقطان:
الموداد، شالف، حضرموت،
يارح، هدورام، اوزال، دقله،
ايبال، ابيمائيل، شبا، اوفير،
حويله و يوباب.
24-27پس ارفكشاد پسر1:24-27 کلمه‌ای که پسر ترجمه شده می‌تواند به معنی نسل و اعقاب نيز باشد: «پس ارفکشاد از نسل سام بود و…» سام بود و شالح پسر ارفكشاد،
عابر پسر شالح،
فالج پسر عابر،
رعو پسر فالج،
سروج پسر رعو،
ناحور پسر سروج،
تارح پسر ناحور،
ابرام (كه بعد به ابراهيم معروف شد) پسر تارح بود.
28ابرام دو پسر داشت به نامهای اسحاق و اسماعيل.
نسل اسماعيل
(پيدايش 25:12-16)
29-31پسران اسماعيل عبارت بودند از:
نبايوت (پسر ارشد اسماعيل)، قيدار،
ادبيل، مبسام، مشماع، دومه،
مسا، حداد، تيما، يطور،
نافيش و قدمه.
32ابراهيم از كنيز خود قطوره پسران ديگری هم داشت كه اسامی آنها به قرار زير است:
زمران، يقشان، مدان،
يشباق و شوعه.
پسران يقشان، شبا و ددان بودند.
33پسران مديان:
عيفه، عيفر، حنوک، ابيداع و الداعه.
اينها فرزندان ابراهيم و از كنيز او قطوره بودند.
نسل عيسو
(پيدايش 36:1-19)
34اسحاق دو پسر داشت به نامهای عيسو و اسرائيل.
35پسران عيسو:
اليفاز، رعوئيل، يعوش،
يعلام و قورح.
36پسران اليفاز:
تيمان، اومار، صفی، جعتام،
قناز و تمناع و عماليق (كه نام مادرش تمناع بود).
37پسران رعوئيل:
نحت، زارح، شمه و مزه.
ساكنان بومی ادوم
(پيدايش 36:20-30)
38-39اينها هم پسران عيسو بودند:
لوطان، شوبال، صبعون، عنه، ديشون، ايصر، ديشان، و دختر عيسو، تمناع بود.
پسران لوطان: حوری و هومام.
40پسران شوبال: عليان، مناحت،
عيبال، شفو و اونام.
ايه و عنه، پسران صبعون بودند.
41ديشون پسر عنه بود.
پسران ديشون: حمران، اشبان، يتران و كران.
42بلهان، زعوان و يعقان، پسران ايصر بودند.
عوص و اران هر دو پسران ديشان بودند.
پادشاهان ادوم
(پيدايش 36:31-43)
43پيش از اينكه در اسرائيل پادشاهی روی كار آيد، در سرزمين ادوم اين پادشاهان يكی پس از ديگری به سلطنت رسيدند:
بالع (پسر بعور) كه در شهر دينهابه زندگی می‌كرد.
44وقتی بالع مرد، يوباب پسر زارح از اهالی بصره به جايش پادشاه شد.
45بعد از مرگ يوباب، حوشام از سرزمين تيمانی پادشاه شد.
46پس از آنكه حوشام مرد، حداد پسر بداد (كه پادشاه مديان را در سرزمين موآب شكست داد) به پادشاهی منصوب گرديد و در شهر عويت سلطنت كرد.
47وقتی حداد مرد، سمله از شهر مسريقه بر تخت پادشاهی نشست.
48بعد از مرگ سمله، شائول از شهر رحوبوت، كه در كنار رودخانه‌ای قرار داشت، به پادشاهی رسيد.
49وقتی شائول مرد، بعل حانان پسر عكبور جانشين او شد.
50پس از بعل حانان، حداد از شهر فاعی پادشاه شد. (زن او مهيطب‌ئيل نام داشت و دختر مطرد و نوهٔ ميذهب بود.)
51-54هنگام مرگ حداد، امرای ادوم اينها بودند:
تمناع، اليه، يتيت، اهوليبامه،
ايله، فينون، قناز، تيمان، مبصار،
مجدی‌ئيل و عيرام.
