Mhubiri 12 – NEN & NIV

Kiswahili Contemporary Version (Neno: Bibilia Takatifu)

Mhubiri 12:1-14

112:1 2Sam 19:35; Mhu 11:8Mkumbuke Muumba wako

siku za ujana wako,

kabla hazijaja siku za taabu,

wala haijakaribia miaka utakaposema,

“Mimi sifurahii hiyo”:

2kabla jua na nuru,

nao mwezi na nyota havijatiwa giza,

kabla ya kurudi mawingu baada ya mvua;

312:3 Mwa 27:1; Zek 8:4; Za 71:9siku ile walinzi wa nyumba watakapotetemeka,

nao watu wenye nguvu watakapojiinamisha,

wakati wasagao watakapokoma kwa sababu ya uchache,

nao wachunguliao madirishani kutiwa giza;

412:4 Yer 25:10; Mik 7:1wakati milango ya kuingia barabarani itakapofungwa

na sauti ya kusaga kufifia;

wakati watu wataamshwa kwa sauti ya ndege,

lakini nyimbo zao zote zikififia;

512:5 Ay 10:21; 17:13; Yer 9:17; Amo 5:16wakati watu watakapoogopa kilichoinuka juu

na hatari zitakazokuwepo barabarani;

wakati mlozi utakapochanua maua

na panzi kujikokota

nawe usiwe na shauku ya kitu chochote.

Ndipo mwanadamu aiendea nyumba yake ya milele

nao waombolezaji wakizunguka barabarani.

6Mkumbuke Muumba wako: kabla haijakatika kamba ya fedha,

au bakuli la dhahabu halijavunjika;

kabla mtungi kuvunjika kwenye chemchemi,

au gurudumu kuvunjika kisimani,

712:7 Mwa 2:7; Ay 20:8; 34:15; Mhu 3:21; Za 146:4nayo mavumbi kurudi ardhini yalikotoka,

na roho kurudi kwa Mungu aliyeitoa.

8Mhubiri asema, “Ubatili! Ubatili!

Kila kitu ni ubatili!”

Hitimisho La Mambo

1312:13 Mik 6:8; Kum 4:2-6; 10:12; Kut 20:20; 1Sam 12:24; Ay 23:15; Za 19:9Hii ndiyo jumla ya maneno;

yote yamekwisha sikiwa:

Mche Mungu, nawe uzishike amri zake,

maana kwa jumla ndiyo impasayo mtu.

1412:14 Mt 10:26; Ay 19:26; 34:21; Mhu 3:17; Za 19:12; Yer 16:17Kwa maana Mungu ataleta hukumuni kila kazi,

pamoja na kila neno la siri,

likiwa jema au baya.

New International Version

Ecclesiastes 12:1-14

1Remember your Creator

in the days of your youth,

before the days of trouble come

and the years approach when you will say,

“I find no pleasure in them”—

2before the sun and the light

and the moon and the stars grow dark,

and the clouds return after the rain;

3when the keepers of the house tremble,

and the strong men stoop,

when the grinders cease because they are few,

and those looking through the windows grow dim;

4when the doors to the street are closed

and the sound of grinding fades;

when people rise up at the sound of birds,

but all their songs grow faint;

5when people are afraid of heights

and of dangers in the streets;

when the almond tree blossoms

and the grasshopper drags itself along

and desire no longer is stirred.

Then people go to their eternal home

and mourners go about the streets.

6Remember him—before the silver cord is severed,

and the golden bowl is broken;

before the pitcher is shattered at the spring,

and the wheel broken at the well,

7and the dust returns to the ground it came from,

and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

8“Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher.12:8 Or the leader of the assembly; also in verses 9 and 10

“Everything is meaningless!”

The Conclusion of the Matter

9Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs. 10The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true.

11The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd.12:11 Or Shepherd 12Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them.

Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.

13Now all has been heard;

here is the conclusion of the matter:

Fear God and keep his commandments,

for this is the duty of all mankind.

14For God will bring every deed into judgment,

including every hidden thing,

whether it is good or evil.
