La superioridad del Hijo
1Dios, que muchas veces y de varias maneras habló a nuestros antepasados en otras épocas por medio de los profetas, 2en estos días finales nos ha hablado por medio de su Hijo. A este lo designó heredero de todo y por medio de él hizo el universo. 3El Hijo refleja el brillo de la gloria de Dios y es la fiel representación de lo que él es. Él sostiene todas las cosas con su palabra poderosa. Después de llevar a cabo la purificación de los pecados, se sentó a la derecha de la Majestad en las alturas. 4Así llegó a ser superior a los ángeles, en la misma medida en que el nombre que ha heredado supera en excelencia al de ellos.
5Porque ¿a cuál de los ángeles dijo Dios jamás:
«Tú eres mi Hijo;
hoy mismo te he engendrado»,1:5 Sal 2:7.
y en otro pasaje:
«Yo seré su Padre
y él será mi Hijo»?1:5 2S 7:14; 1Cr 17:13.
6Además, al introducir a su Primogénito en el mundo, Dios dice:
«Que lo adoren todos los ángeles de Dios».
7En cuanto a los ángeles dice:
«Él convierte a sus ángeles en vientos,
y a sus servidores en llamas de fuego».1:7 Sal 104:4.
8Pero con respecto al Hijo dice:
«Tu trono, oh Dios, permanece para siempre;
el cetro de tu reino es cetro de justicia.
9Has amado la justicia y odiado la maldad;
por eso Dios, tu Dios, te ha ungido con aceite de alegría,
te prefirió a ti por encima de tus compañeros».1:9 Sal 45:6,7.
10También dice:
«En el principio, oh Señor, tú afirmaste la tierra,
y los cielos son la obra de tus manos.
11Ellos perecerán, pero tú permaneces para siempre.
Todos ellos se desgastarán como un vestido,
12los doblarás como un manto
y cambiarán como ropa que se muda.
Pero tú eres siempre el mismo
y tus años no tienen fin».1:12 Sal 102:25-27.
13¿A cuál de los ángeles dijo Dios alguna vez:
«Siéntate a mi derecha,
hasta que ponga a tus enemigos
por debajo de tus pies»?1:13 Sal 110:1.
14¿No son todos los ángeles espíritus dedicados al servicio divino, enviados para ayudar a los que han de heredar la salvación?
God Speaks His Final Word Through His Son
1In the past, God spoke to our people through the prophets. He spoke at many times. He spoke in different ways. 2But in these last days, he has spoken to us through his Son. He is the one whom God appointed to receive all things. God also made everything through him. 3The Son is the shining brightness of God’s glory. He is the exact likeness of God’s being. He uses his powerful word to hold all things together. He provided the way for people to be made pure from sin. Then he sat down at the right hand of the King, the Majesty in heaven. 4So he became higher than the angels. The name he received is more excellent than theirs.
The Son Is Greater Than the Angels
5God never said to any of the angels,
“You are my Son.
Today I have become your Father.” (Psalm 2:7)
Or,
“I will be his Father.
And he will be my Son.” (2 Samuel 7:14; 1 Chronicles 17:13)
6God’s first and only Son is over all things. When God brings him into the world, he says,
“Let all God’s angels worship him.” (Deuteronomy 32:43)
7Here is something else God says about the angels.
“God makes his angels to be like spirits.
He makes those who serve him to be like flashes of lightning.” (Psalm 104:4)
8But here is what he says about the Son.
“You are God. Your throne will last for ever and ever.
Your kingdom will be ruled by justice.
9You have loved what is right and hated what is evil.
So your God has placed you above your companions.
He has filled you with joy by pouring the sacred oil on your head.” (Psalm 45:6,7)
10He also says,
“Lord, in the beginning you made the earth secure. You placed it on its foundations.
The heavens are the work of your hands.
11They will pass away. But you remain.
They will all wear out like a piece of clothing.
12You will roll them up like a robe.
They will be changed as a person changes clothes.
But you remain the same.
Your years will never end.” (Psalm 102:25–27)
13God never said to an angel,
“Sit at my right hand
until I put your enemies
under your control.” (Psalm 110:1)
14All angels are spirits who serve. God sends them to serve those who will receive salvation.
