የመጀመሪያዎቹ ደቀ መዛሙርት ተጠሩ
5፥1-11 ተጓ ምብ – ማቴ 4፥18-22፤ ማር 1፥16-20፤ ዮሐ 1፥40-42
1ሕዝቡ ዙሪያውን እያጨናነቁት የሚያስተምረውን የእግዚአብሔርን ቃል ሲሰሙ፣ ኢየሱስ በጌንሳሬጥ ሐይቅ5፥1 የገሊላ ባሕር ነው አጠገብ ቆሞ ነበር፤ 2በዚህ ጊዜ ሁለት ጀልባዎች በሐይቁ ዳርቻ ቆመው አየ፤ ዓሣ አጥማጆቹ ግን ከጀልባዎቹ ወርደው መረባቸውን ያጥቡ ነበር። 3ከጀልባዎቹም መካከል የስምዖን ወደ ነበረችው ገብቶ፣ ከምድር ጥቂት ፈቀቅ እንዲያደርጋት ለመነው፤ ከዚያም ጀልባዋ ላይ ተቀምጦ ሕዝቡን ያስተምር ጀመር።
4ንግግሩን በጨረሰ ጊዜ ስምዖንን፣ “ወደ ጥልቁ ውሃ ፈቀቅ በልና ዓሣ ለመያዝ መረባችሁን ጣሉ” አለው።
5ስምዖንም መልሶ፣ “መምህር ሆይ፤ ሌሊቱን ሙሉ ስንደክም ዐድረን ምንም አልያዝንም፤ አንተ ካልህ ግን መረቦቹን እጥላለሁ” አለው።
6እንደዚያም ባደረጉ ጊዜ እጅግ ብዙ ዓሣ ያዙ፤ መረባቸውም ይበጣጠስ ጀመር። 7በሌላ ጀልባ የነበሩት ባልንጀሮቻቸው መጥተው እንዲያግዟቸውም በምልክት ጠሯቸው፤ እነርሱም መጥተው ሁለቱን ጀልባዎች በዓሣ ሞሏቸው፣ ጀልባዎቹም መስመጥ ጀመሩ።
8ስምዖን ጴጥሮስም ይህን ባየ ጊዜ በኢየሱስ ጕልበት ላይ ወድቆ፣ “ጌታ ሆይ፤ እኔ ኀጢአተኛ ሰው ነኝና ከእኔ ተለይ” አለው። 9ይህን ያለው እርሱና ከእርሱ ጋር የነበሩት በያዙት ዓሣ ብዛት ስለ ተደነቁ ነው፤ 10ደግሞም የስምዖን ባልንጀሮች የነበሩት የዘብዴዎስ ልጆች፣ ያዕቆብና ዮሐንስም ተደነቁ።
ኢየሱስም ስምዖንን፣ “አትፍራ፤ ከእንግዲህ ሰውን የምታጠምድ ትሆናለህ” አለው። 11እነርሱም ጀልባዎቹን ወደ ምድር ካስጠጉ በኋላ፣ ሁሉን ትተው ተከተሉት።
ለምጻሙ ሰው
5፥12-14 ተጓ ምብ – ማቴ 8፥2-4፤ ማር 1፥40-44
12ኢየሱስ ከከተሞች በአንዱ በነበረበት ጊዜ፣ አንድ ለምጽ የወረሰው5፥12 የግሪኩ ቃል የግድ ከለምጽ ጋር ብቻ የተያያዘ ሳይሆን፣ የተለያዩ የቈዳ በሽታዎችንም ለመግለጽ ጥቅም ላይ ይውላል። ሰው በዚያው ከተማ ነበር፤ ይህ ሰው ኢየሱስን ባየው ጊዜ በፊቱ ተደፋና፣ “ጌታ ሆይ፤ ብትፈቅድ እኮ ልታነጻኝ ትችላለህ” ብሎ ለመነው።
13ኢየሱስም እጁን ዘርግቶ ዳሰሰውና፣ “እፈቅዳለሁ፤ ንጻ!” አለው፤ ወዲያውም ለምጹ ጠፋለት።
14ኢየሱስም፣ “ይህን ለማንም አትናገር፤ ነገር ግን ሄደህ ራስህን ለካህን አሳይ፤ ለእነርሱ ምስክር እንዲሆንም ስለ መንጻትህ ሙሴ ያዘዘውን መሥዋዕት አቅርብ” ሲል አዘዘው።
15ይሁን እንጂ ስለ እርሱ የሚወራው ወሬ ይበልጥ እየሰፋ ሄደ፤ እጅግ ብዙ ሰዎችም እርሱ የሚናገረውን ለመስማትና ካለባቸው ደዌ ለመፈወስ ይሰበሰቡ ነበር። 16ኢየሱስ ግን ብዙ ጊዜ ወደ ገለልተኛ ስፍራ ወጥቶ ይጸልይ ነበር።
ኢየሱስ ሽባውን ሰው ፈወሰ
5፥18-26 ተጓ ምብ – ማቴ 9፥2-8፤ ማር 2፥3-12
17አንድ ቀን ኢየሱስ እያስተማረ ነበር፤ በዚያም ከገሊላና ከይሁዳ መንደሮች ሁሉ እንዲሁም ከኢየሩሳሌም የመጡ ፈሪሳውያንና የሕግ መምህራን ተቀምጠው ነበር፤ ይፈውስም ዘንድ የጌታ ኀይል ከእርሱ ጋር ነበረ። 18በዚያን ጊዜም፣ ሰዎች አንድ ሽባ በዐልጋ ተሸክመው አመጡ፤ ኢየሱስ ፊት ለማኖርም ወደ ቤት ሊያስገቡት ሞከሩ፤ 19ከሕዝቡም ብዛት የተነሣ ቤቱ ውስጥ ማስገባት ስላቃታቸው፣ ጣራው ላይ ወጥተው የቤቱን ክዳን በመንደል በሽተኛውን ከነዐልጋው በሕዝቡ መካከል ቀጥታ ኢየሱስ ፊት አወረዱት።
20ኢየሱስም እምነታቸውን አይቶ፣ “አንተ ሰው፤ ኀጢአትህ ተሰርዮልሃል” አለው።
21ጸሐፍትና ፈሪሳውያንም፣ “ይህ አምላክን በመዳፈር እንዲህ የሚናገር ማን ነው? ከአንዱ ከእግዚአብሔር በስተቀር ኀጢአትን ሊያስተስረይ ማን ይችላል?” ብለው ያስቡ ጀመር።
22ኢየሱስም ሐሳባቸውን ስለ ተረዳ እንዲህ አላቸው፤ “ለምን በልባችሁ እንዲህ ታስባላችሁ? 23‘ኀጢአትህ ተሰረየችልህ’ ከማለትና ‘ተነሥተህ ሂድ’ ከማለት የትኛው ይቀላል? 24ነገር ግን ይህን ያልሁት የሰው ልጅ በምድር ላይ ኀጢአትን ለማስተስረይ ሥልጣን እንዳለው ታውቁ ዘንድ ነው።” ከዚያም ሽባውን ሰው፣ “ተነሥተህ ዐልጋህን ተሸክመህ ወደ ቤትህ ሂድ እልሃለሁ” አለው። 25እርሱም ወዲያው ተነሥቶ በፊታቸው ቆመ፤ ተኝቶበት የነበረውንም ተሸክሞ፣ እግዚአብሔርን እያመሰገነ ወደ ቤቱ ሄደ። 26በዚህ ጊዜ ሁሉንም መገረም ያዛቸው፤ እግዚአብሔርንም እያመሰገኑ፣ “ዛሬ እኮ ድንቅ ነገር አየን” እያሉ በፍርሀት ተዋጡ።
የሌዊ መጠራት
5፥27-32 ተጓ ምብ – ማቴ 9፥9-13፤ ማር 2፥14-17
27ከዚህ በኋላ ኢየሱስ ከዚያ ወጥቶ ሄደ፤ ሌዊ የተባለ አንድ ቀረጥ ሰብሳቢም በቀረጥ መቀበያው ቦታ ተቀምጦ አየውና፣ “ተከተለኝ” አለው፤ 28እርሱም ሁሉን ትቶ ተነሥቶ ተከተለው።
29ሌዊም ለኢየሱስ በቤቱ ትልቅ ግብዣ አደረገ፤ ብዙ ቀረጥ ሰብሳቢዎችና ሌሎች ሰዎችም ከእነርሱ ጋር በማእድ ተቀምጠው ነበር። 30ፈሪሳውያንና ጸሐፍታቸውም “ከቀረጥ ሰብሳቢዎችና ‘ከኀጢአተኞች’ ጋር የምትበሉትና የምትጠጡት ለምንድን ነው?” እያሉ በደቀ መዛሙርቱ ላይ አጕረመረሙ።
31ኢየሱስም እንዲህ ሲል መለሰላቸው፤ “በሽተኞች እንጂ ጤነኞች ሐኪም አያስፈልጋቸውም፤ 32እኔም ኀጢአተኞችን ወደ ንስሓ ልመልስ እንጂ ጻድቃንን ልጠራ አልመጣሁም።”
ኢየሱስ ስለ ጾም ተጠየቀ
5፥33-39 ተጓ ምብ – ማቴ 9፥14-17፤ ማር 2፥18-22
33እነርሱም፣ “የዮሐንስ ደቀ መዛሙርት አብዛኛውን ጊዜ ይጾማሉ፤ ይጸልያሉ፤ የፈሪሳውያን ደቀ መዛሙርትም እንደዚሁ ያደርጋሉ፤ የአንተዎቹ ግን ዘወትር ይበላሉ፤ ይጠጣሉ” አሉት።
34ኢየሱስም እንዲህ አላቸው፤ “ሙሽራው አብሯቸው እያለ ዕድምተኞቹ እንዲጾሙ ማድረግ ይቻላልን? 35ነገር ግን ሙሽራው ከእነርሱ የሚወሰድበት ቀን ይመጣል፤ በዚያን ጊዜ ይጾማሉ።”
36ደግሞም እንዲህ ሲል ምሳሌ ነገራቸው፤ “ከአዲስ ልብስ ላይ ዕራፊ ቀድዶ በአሮጌ ልብስ ላይ የሚጥፍ ማንም የለም፤ እንዲህ ቢያደርግ አዲሱን ልብስ ይቀድደዋል፤ አዲሱም እራፊ ለአሮጌው ልብስ አይስማማውም። 37አዲስ የወይን ጠጅም በአሮጌ አቍማዳ ጨምሮ የሚያስቀምጥ ማንም የለም፤ እንዲህ ቢያደርግ አዲሱ የወይን ጠጅ አቍማዳውን ያፈነዳዋል፤ የወይን ጠጁም ይፈስሳል፤ አቍማዳውም ከጥቅም ውጭ ይሆናል። 38ስለዚህ አዲስ የወይን ጠጅ በአዲስ አቍማዳ መጨመር አለበት፤ 39እንግዲህ፣ አሮጌ የወይን ጠጅ ከጠጣ በኋላ፣ አዲሱን የሚሻ ማንም የለም፤ ምክንያቱም፣ ‘አሮጌው የተሻለ ነው’ ስለሚል ነው።”
Jesus calls his first disciples
1One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,5:1 That is, Sea of Galilee the people were crowding round him and listening to the word of God. 2He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.
4When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, ‘Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.’
5Simon answered, ‘Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.’
6When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7So they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
8When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, ‘Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!’ 9For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.
Then Jesus said to Simon, ‘Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.’ 11So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
Jesus heals a man with leprosy
12While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy.5:12 The Greek word traditionally translated leprosy was used for various diseases affecting the skin. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, ‘Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.’
13Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be clean!’ And immediately the leprosy left him.
14Then Jesus ordered him, ‘Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.’
15Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their illnesses. 16But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Jesus forgives and heals a paralysed man
17One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal those who were ill. 18Some men came carrying a paralysed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
20When Jesus saw their faith, he said, ‘Friend, your sins are forgiven.’
21The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, ‘Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?’
22Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, ‘Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 23Which is easier: to say, “Your sins are forgiven,” or to say, “Get up and walk”? 24But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.’ So he said to the paralysed man, ‘I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.’ 25Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, ‘We have seen remarkable things today.’
Jesus calls Levi and eats with sinners
27After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. ‘Follow me,’ Jesus said to him, 28and Levi got up, left everything and followed him.
29Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. 30But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, ‘Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?’
31Jesus answered them, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but those who are ill. 32I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.’
Jesus questioned about fasting
33They said to him, ‘John’s disciples often fast and pray, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours go on eating and drinking.’
34Jesus answered, ‘Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? 35But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; in those days they will fast.’
36He told them this parable: ‘No-one tears a piece out of a new garment to patch an old one. Otherwise, they will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old. 37And no-one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. 38No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. 39And no-one after drinking old wine wants the new, for they say, “The old is better.” ’
