새로운 안식처
1그러므로 하나님의 안식처에 들어갈 약속은 아직도 효력이 있습니다. 여러 분 가운데 아무도 그 곳에 들어갈 기회를 놓치지 않도록 조심하십시오.
2우리도 그들과 마찬가지로 기쁜 소식을 전해 들었습니다. 그러나 그들이 들은 말씀이 자기들에게 유익이 되지 못했던 것은 그 말씀을 믿음으로 받아들이지 않았기 때문입니다.
3이제 믿는 우리는 그 안식처에 들어갑니다. 이것은 하나님이 말씀하신 것과 같습니다. 4:3 시95:11“그래서 내가 분노하여 ‘그들은 안식처가 될 약속의 땅에 들어오지 못할 것이다’ 라고 선언하였다.” 그러나 이 일은 세상이 창조될 때부터 이미 이루어졌습니다.
4일곱째 날에 대하여는 성경에 4:4 창2:2“하나님은 모든 일을 마치시고 일곱째 날에 쉬셨다” 라고 쓰여 있습니다.
5그리고 다시 “그들은 안식처가 될 약속의 땅에 들어오지 못할 것이다” 라고 하였습니다.
6그렇다면 그 안식처에 들어갈 사람들이 아직 남아 있습니다. 먼저 기쁜 소식을 들은 이스라엘 사람들은 불순종했기 때문에 그 곳에 들어가지 못했습니다.
7그러므로 하나님은 오랜 후에 ‘오늘’ 이라는 어느 한 날을 정하시고 다윗을 통해 전에 말씀하신 대로 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. 4:7 시95:7,8“오늘 너희가 그의 음성을 듣거든 못된 고집을 부리지 말아라.”
8만일 여호수아가 그들에게 진정한 안식을 주었더라면 하나님은 후에 다른 날을 말씀하시지 않았을 것입니다.
9그러므로 안식할 때가 하나님의 백성에게 아직 남아 있습니다.
10하나님의 안식에 들어간 사람은 하나님이 일을 마치고 쉬신 것처럼 자기 일을 쉽니다.
11그러므로 우리는 불순종하다가 멸망한 사람들처럼 되지 말고 저 안식처에 들어가도록 힘씁시다.
12하나님의 말씀은 살아 있고 활동력이 있어서 양쪽에 날이 선 그 어떤 칼보다도 더 날카롭습니다. 그래서 혼과 영과 관절과 골수를 쪼개고 사람의 마음속에 품은 생각과 뜻을 알아냅니다.
13하나님 앞에서는 아무것도 숨길 수가 없습니다. 우리가 모든 것을 고백해야 할 그분의 눈 앞에는 모든 것이 벌거숭이로 드러나기 마련입니다.
예수님은 우리의 대제사장
14우리에게는 하늘로 올라가신 위대한 대제사장이 계십니다. 그분이 바로 하나님의 아들 예수님이십니다. 그러므로 우리가 고백하는 신앙을 굳게 지킵시다.
15우리 대제사장은 우리의 연약함을 동정할 수 없는 분이 아니십니다. 오히려 그분은 모든 점에서 우리처럼 시험을 받으셨습니다. 그러나 죄는 없으셨습니다.
16그러므로 우리는 불쌍히 여기심을 받고 때를 따라 도우시는 은혜를 받기 위하여 담대하게 하나님의 보좌로 가까이 나아갑시다.
God’s People Enter His Sabbath Rest
1God’s promise of enjoying his rest still stands. So be careful that none of you fails to receive it. 2The good news was announced to our people of long ago. It has also been preached to us. The message they heard didn’t have any value for them. That’s because they didn’t share the faith of those who obeyed. 3Now we who have believed enjoy that rest. God said,
“When I was angry, I made a promise.
I said, ‘They will never enjoy the rest I planned for them.’ ” (Psalm 95:11)
Ever since God created the world, his works have been finished. 4Somewhere he spoke about the seventh day. He said, “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.” (Genesis 2:2) 5In the part of Scripture I talked about earlier God spoke. He said, “They will never enjoy the rest I planned for them.” (Psalm 95:11)
6It is still true that some people will enjoy this rest. But those who had the good news announced to them earlier didn’t go in. That’s because they didn’t obey. 7So God again chose a certain day. He named it Today. He did this when he spoke through David a long time later. Here is what was written in the Scripture already given.
“Listen to his voice today.
If you hear it, don’t be stubborn.” (Psalm 95:7,8)
8Suppose Joshua had given them rest. If he had, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9So there is still a Sabbath rest for God’s people. 10God rested from his work. Those who enjoy God’s rest also rest from their works. 11So let us make every effort to enjoy that rest. Then no one will die by disobeying as they did.
12The word of God is alive and active. It is sharper than any sword that has two edges. It cuts deep enough to separate soul from spirit. It can separate bones from joints. It judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart. 13Nothing God created is hidden from him. His eyes see everything. He will hold us responsible for everything we do.
Jesus Is the Great High Priest
14We have a great high priest. He has gone up into heaven. He is Jesus the Son of God. So let us hold firmly to what we say we believe. 15We have a high priest who can feel it when we are weak and hurting. We have a high priest who has been tempted in every way, just as we are. But he did not sin. 16So let us boldly approach God’s throne of grace. Then we will receive mercy. We will find grace to help us when we need it.
