속죄제
1여호와께서는 이스라엘 백성에게 이렇게 전하라고 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
2“누구든지 무의식 중에 나 여호와가 금한 명령 중 하나를 어겼을 경우에는 이렇게 하여라.
3“만일 기름 부음을 받은 4:3 또는 ‘대제사장이’제사장이 모르고 범죄하여 백성에게 그 죄의 재앙이 돌아가게 하였으면 그는 자기가 범한 죄에 대하여 흠 없는 수송아지 한 마리를 속죄제로 나 여호와에게 바쳐야 한다.
4그는 그 수송아지를 성막 입구 나 여호와 앞에 끌어다가 그 수송아지 머리 위에 손을 얹은 다음 그것을 나 여호와 앞에서 잡아야 한다.
5그리고 기름 부음을 받은 제사장은 그 수송아지 피를 가지고 성막에 들어가서
6손가락으로 피를 찍어 나 여호와 앞 곧 성소의 휘장 앞에 일곱 번 뿌리고
7또 그 피를 성막 안의 향단 뿔에 바를 것이며 그 송아지의 나머지 피는 성막 입구에 있는 번제단 밑에 모두 쏟아야 한다.
8그런 다음 그는 그 속죄제물의 모든 기름, 곧 내장을 덮고 있거나 그것에 붙어 있는 기름과
9두 콩팥과 그 위에 덮여 있는 허리 부분의 기름과 간에 덮여 있는 간 꺼풀을 떼어내어
10화목제물의 기름을 떼어냈을 때처럼 그것을 번제단 위에서 불로 태워야 한다.
11그러나 그 수송아지의 가죽과 그 모든 고기와 그 머리와 다리와 내장과 똥,
12곧 기름 부분을 제외한 그 나머지는 모두 야영지 밖으로 가지고 가서 재 버리는 정결한 곳에서 나뭇불로 태워야 한다.
13“만일 이스라엘 전체 백성이 잘못하여 나 여호와가 금한 명령 중 하나를 어겨 범죄하고도 깨닫지 못하다가
14후에 그 죄를 깨달으면 그들은 수송아지 한 마리를 속죄제로 드려야 한다. 그들은 그것을 성막 앞으로 끌어다 놓고
15백성의 장로들이 나 여호와 앞에서 그 수송아지 머리에 손을 얹은 다음 그것을 내 앞에서 잡을 것이며
16기름 부음을 받은 제사장은 그 수송아지 피를 가지고 성막으로 들어가서
17손가락으로 피를 찍어 나 여호와 앞 휘장 앞에서 일곱 번 뿌리고
18또 성막 안 나 여호와 앞에 있는 향단 뿔에 그 피를 바를 것이며 나머지 피는 성막 입구에 있는 번제단 밑에 쏟아야 한다.
19그리고 그는 그 송아지의 기름을 다 떼어내어 단에서 불로 태워
20속죄제의 수송아지에게 한 것처럼 해야 한다. 이런 식으로 제사장이 백성을 위해 속죄하면 그들이 용서받게 될 것이다.
21그런 다음 그는 4:21 또는 ‘그 송아지를’기름을 제외한 그 수송아지의 나머지 부분을 야영지 밖으로 가지고 가서 제사장 자신의 죄 때문에 바친 그 송아지처럼 그것을 불에 태워야 한다. 이것은 전체 백성을 위한 속죄제이다.
22“만일 백성의 지도자가 모르고 나 여호와의 명령 중 하나를 어겨 범죄하였다가
23후에 자기 죄를 깨닫게 되면 그는 흠 없는 숫염소 한 마리를 제물로 가져와서
24그 숫염소 머리에 손을 얹은 다음 나 여호와 앞 번제물을 잡는 곳에서 잡아야 한다. 이것은 속죄제이다.
25제사장은 그 속죄제물의 피를 손가락으로 찍어 번제단 뿔에 바르고 나머지 피는 모두 번제단 밑에 쏟을 것이며
26그 모든 기름은 화목제 제물의 기름처럼 단 위에서 불로 태워야 한다. 이와 같은 방법으로 제사장이 죄를 범한 지도자를 위해 속죄하면 그가 용서받게 될 것이다.
27“만일 일반 백성이 모르고 나 여호와가 금한 명령 중 하나를 어겨 범죄하였다가
28후에 자기 죄를 깨닫게 되면 그는 흠 없는 암염소 한 마리를 끌고 와서
29그 머리에 손을 얹은 다음 제단 북쪽의 번제물을 잡는 곳에서 잡을 것이며
30제사장은 손가락으로 그 피를 찍어 번제단 뿔에 바르고 나머지 피는 모두 그 제단 밑에 쏟아야 한다.
31그런 다음 그는 화목제 제물의 기름을 떼어낸 것처럼 그 암염소의 기름을 모두 떼어내어 단 위에서 불로 태워 나 여호와를 기쁘게 하는 향기가 되게 해야 한다. 이와 같은 방법으로 제사장이 그를 위해 속죄하면 그가 용서받게 될 것이다.
32“만일 그가 어린 양을 속죄제물로 가져올 경우 그는 흠 없는 암컷을 끌고 와서
33그 머리에 손을 얹은 다음 번제물을 잡는 곳에서 잡을 것이며
34제사장은 그 속죄제물의 피를 손가락으로 찍어 번제단 뿔에 바르고 그 나머지 피는 모두 번제단 밑에 쏟아야 한다.
35그런 다음 그는 화목제의 어린 양에서 기름을 떼어낸 것처럼 그 제물의 모든 기름을 떼어내어 나 여호와에게 불로 태워 바치는 화제물 위에 얹어 태워야 한다. 제사장이 이런 식으로 그 사람을 위해 속죄하면 그가 용서받게 될 것이다.”
The sin offering
1The Lord said to Moses, 2‘Say to the Israelites: “When anyone sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands –
3‘ “If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the Lord a young bull without defect as a sin offering4:3 Or purification offering; here and throughout this chapter for the sin he has committed. 4He is to present the bull at the entrance to the tent of meeting before the Lord. He is to lay his hand on its head and slaughter it there before the Lord. 5Then the anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood and carry it into the tent of meeting. 6He is to dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times before the Lord, in front of the curtain of the sanctuary. 7The priest shall then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. The rest of the bull’s blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 8He shall remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering – all the fat that is connected to the internal organs, 9both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which he will remove with the kidneys – 10just as the fat is removed from the ox4:10 The Hebrew word can refer to either male or female. sacrificed as a fellowship offering. Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering. 11But the hide of the bull and all its flesh, as well as the head and legs, the internal organs and the intestines – 12that is, all the rest of the bull – he must take outside the camp to a place ceremonially clean, where the ashes are thrown, and burn it there in a wood fire on the ash heap.
13‘ “If the whole Israelite community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though the community is unaware of the matter, when they realise their guilt 14and the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly must bring a young bull as a sin offering and present it before the tent of meeting. 15The elders of the community are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the Lord, and the bull shall be slaughtered before the Lord. 16Then the anointed priest is to take some of the bull’s blood into the tent of meeting. 17He shall dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle it before the Lord seven times in front of the curtain. 18He is to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 19He shall remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar, 20and do with this bull just as he did with the bull for the sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the community, and they will be forgiven. 21Then he shall take the bull outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull. This is the sin offering for the community.
22‘ “When a leader sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the Lord his God, when he realises his guilt 23and the sin he has committed becomes known, he must bring as his offering a male goat without defect. 24He is to lay his hand on the goat’s head and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the Lord. It is a sin offering. 25Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 26He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the leader’s sin, and he will be forgiven.
27‘ “If any member of the community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, when they realise their guilt 28and the sin they have committed becomes known, they must bring as their offering for the sin they committed a female goat without defect. 29They are to lay their hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering. 30Then the priest is to take some of the blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 31They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar as an aroma pleasing to the Lord. In this way the priest will make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven.
32‘ “If someone brings a lamb as their sin offering, they are to bring a female without defect. 33They are to lay their hand on its head and slaughter it for a sin offering at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered. 34Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 35They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the lamb of the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar on top of the food offerings presented to the Lord. In this way the priest will make atonement for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.
