あなたの愛する人はどこへ行ったのですか。
その方を捜してあげましょう。」

「 2あの方は、ご自分の庭園、香料の花壇へ行きました。
羊の群れを飼い、ゆりの花を集めるためです。
3私は愛する方のもの、愛する方は私のもの。
あの方は、ゆりの花の間で羊の群れを飼っています。」

「 4愛する人よ。
あなたは眺めのよいティルツァ（サマリヤの東にある町）のように美しく、
エルサレムのように愛らしい。
あなたは私をとりこにした。
5そんなに見つめないでくれ。
あなたの目に、吸い込まれてしまいそうだ。
あなたの顔にゆれる髪は、
ギルアデの山腹を跳びはねて降りて来る
やぎの群れのようだ。
6歯は、体を洗い流したばかりの雌羊のように、
真っ白で、きれいな歯ならびだ。
7髪の毛のかかる頬はなんともかわいらしい。
8私には、王妃が六十人、そばめは八十人、
おとめたちは数知れずいる。
9だが、あなたのような完全な女性は、
ただの一人もいない。

10『夜明けのように上ってきて、
