5For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.
6Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

(1 Cr 16.23-33)
1Cantem ao Senhor um cântico novo;
cantem-lhe em toda a Terra!
2Cantem ao Senhor;
deem louvores à força do seu nome!
Anunciem a sua salvação dia após dia!
3Deem a conhecer entre todos os povos da Terra,
como é excelsa a sua glória!
Contem a todas as gentes as suas maravilhas!
4Porque o Senhor é grande
e digno de todo o louvor;
é muitíssimo superior a todos os chamados deuses.
5Esses pretensos deuses são apenas ídolos,
mas o Senhor, esse é o Criador dos céus.
6À sua volta só há glória e majestade;
a força e a beleza encontram-se no seu santuário.
7Ó povos de todas a nações, louvem o Senhor;
reconheçam a sua grande força e glória!
8Sim, deem ao Senhor a glória que é devida ao seu nome!
Tragam ofertas e venham aos seus átrios!
9Adorem o Senhor revestido de santidade!
Que a Terra inteira trema na sua presença!
10Digam às nações:
“O Senhor governa o mundo,
o mundo permanece inabalável!
Ele julgará os povos com perfeita justiça.”
11Alegrem-se os céus, regozije-se a Terra!
Que os vastos mares exultem!
12Que tudo o que os campos produzem
seja um motivo para se louvar o Senhor,
pois é uma prova do seu poder.
Que as árvores das florestas exaltem o Criador,
13porque o Senhor virá.
Ele há de vir para julgar a Terra com justiça
e os povos com a sua verdade.
