2Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
3Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
4For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.90.4 when…: or, when he hath passed them
5Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.90.5 groweth…: or, is changed
6In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
7For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
8Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

11Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
12So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.90.12 apply: Heb. cause to come
13Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
14O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
15Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.
16Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.
17And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Salmo 90
Oración de Moisés, hombre de Dios.
1Señor, tú has sido nuestro refugio
generación tras generación.
2Desde antes que nacieran los montes
y que crearas la tierra y el mundo,
desde los tiempos antiguos
y hasta los tiempos postreros,
tú eres Dios.
3Tú haces que los hombres vuelvan al polvo,
cuando dices: «¡Volveos al polvo, mortales!»
4Mil años, para ti, son como el día de ayer, que ya pasó;
son como unas cuantas horas de la noche.
5Arrasas a los mortales. Son como un sueño.
Nacen por la mañana, como la hierba
6que al amanecer brota lozana
y por la noche ya está marchita y seca.
7Tu ira en verdad nos consume,
tu indignación nos aterra.
8Ante ti has puesto nuestras iniquidades;
a la luz de tu presencia, nuestros pecados secretos.
9A causa de tu ira se nos va la vida entera;
se esfuman nuestros años como un suspiro.
10Algunos llegamos hasta los setenta años,
quizás alcancemos hasta los ochenta,
si las fuerzas nos acompañan.
Tantos años de vida,90:10 Tantos años de vida. Lit. Su orgullo. sin embargo,
solo traen pesadas cargas y calamidades:
pronto pasan, y con ellos pasamos nosotros.
11¿Quién puede comprender el furor de tu enojo?
¡Tu ira es tan grande como el temor que se te debe!
12Enséñanos a contar bien nuestros días,
para que nuestro corazón adquiera sabiduría.
13¿Cuándo, Señor, te volverás hacia nosotros?
¡Compadécete ya de tus siervos!
14Sácianos de tu amor por la mañana,
y toda nuestra vida cantaremos de alegría.
15Días y años nos has afligido, nos has hecho sufrir;
¡devuélvenos ahora ese tiempo en alegría!
16¡Sean manifiestas tus obras a tus siervos,
y tu esplendor a sus descendientes!

esté sobre nosotros.
