Psalms 52:1-9

To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech.

1Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.52.1 Maschil: or, of instruction

2Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

3Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

4Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.52.4 O thou…: or, and the deceitful tongue

5God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.52.5 destroy…: Heb. beat thee down

6The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

7Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.52.7 wickedness: or, substance

8But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

9I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

مزامير 52:1-9

تنبيه خدا

(اين مزمور را داوود در اعتراض به دشمن خود دوآغ ادومی نوشت. نگاه كنيد به اول سموئيل ۲۲.)

1ای مرد قدرتمند، چرا از ظلم خود فخر می‌كنی؟ ای كسی كه در نظر خدا رسوا هستی، چرا تمام روز به خود می‌بالی؟ 2ای حيله‌گر، توطئه می‌چينی كه ديگران را نابود كنی؛ زبانت مانند تيغ، تيز و برّنده است. 3بدی را به نيكی ترجيح می‌دهی و دروغ را بيشتر از راستی دوست می‌داری. 4ای فريبكار، تو دوست داری با سخنانت تباهی بار بياوری.

5بنابراين، خدا نيز تو را از خانه‌ات بيرون كشيده تو را به کلی نابود خواهد كرد و ريشه‌ات را از زمين زندگان خواهد كند. 6نيكان اين را ديده، خواهند ترسيد و به تو خنديده، خواهند گفت: 7«ببينيد، اين همان مردی است كه به خدا توكل نمی‌كرد، بلكه به ثروت هنگفت خود تكيه می‌نمود و برای حفظ و حراست از خود به ظلم متوسل می‌شد.»

8اما من مانند درخت زيتونی هستم كه در خانهٔ خدا سبز می‌شود؛ من تا ابد به رحمت خدا توكل خواهم كرد. 9خدايا، به سبب آنچه كه كرده‌ای پيوسته از تو تشكر خواهم نمود و در حضور قوم تو اعلان خواهم كرد كه تو نيكو هستی.
