1Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.32.1 A Psalm…: or, A Psalm of David giving instruction
2Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
4For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
5I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
6For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.32.6 when…: Heb. of finding
7Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
8I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.32.8 guide…: Heb. counsel thee, mine eye shall be upon thee
9Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
10Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
11Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Heureux l’homme ╵dont la faute est effacée,
et le péché pardonné !
2Heureux l’homme ╵au compte de qui ╵l’Eternel ╵ne porte pas le péché32.2 Cité en Rm 4.7-8.
et qui est exempt ╵de duplicité !
3Tant que je taisais ma faute,
je m’épuisais à gémir ╵sans cesse, à longueur de jour.
4Sur moi, le jour et la nuit, ╵ta main s’appesantissait,
ma vigueur m’abandonnait ╵comme l’herbe se dessèche ╵lors des ardeurs de l’été.

5Je t’ai avoué ma faute,
je n’ai plus caché mes torts,
j’ai dit : « Je reconnaîtrai ╵devant l’Eternel ╵les péchés que j’ai commis. »
Alors tu m’as déchargé ╵du poids de ma faute.

6Ainsi, que tout homme ╵qui t’est attaché ╵te prie au temps opportun.
Si les grandes eaux déferlent,
leurs flots ne l’atteignent pas.
7Tu es un abri pour moi, ╵tu me gardes du danger.
Autour de moi retentissent ╵les chants de la délivrance.

8Tu as dit : « Je t’instruirai, ╵je t’indiquerai ╵le chemin ╵que tu devras emprunter,
je serai ton conseiller, ╵mes yeux veilleront sur toi.
9Ne soyez donc pas stupides ╵comme un cheval, un mulet ╵dépourvus d’intelligence
dont il faut dompter la fougue ╵par la bride et par le mors

10Ils sont nombreux les tourments ╵qui attendent les méchants,
mais les hommes qui ont mis ╵leur confiance en l’Eternel ╵sont comblés par son amour.
11Justes, réjouissez-vous ! ╵Mettez votre joie en l’Eternel
et poussez des cris de joie, ╵vous qui êtes droits de cœur !
