A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD.
1Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.102.1 of: or, for
2Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
3For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.102.3 like…: or, (as some read) into smoke
4My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
5By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.102.5 skin: or, flesh
6I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
7I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
8Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.
9For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
10Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
11My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
12But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.
13Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
14For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.
15So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
16When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
17He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
18This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
19For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
20To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;102.20 those…: Heb. the children of death
21To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
22When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
23He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.102.23 weakened: Heb. afflicted
24I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.
25Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
26They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:102.26 endure: Heb. stand
27But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
28The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.
رحمت خداوند
1ای خداوند، دعای مرا بشنو و به فريادم گوش فرا ده! 2وقتی كه در زحمت هستم، روی خود را از من برنگردان! به من توجه فرما، و هرگاه دعا كنم بی‌درنگ مرا اجابت فرما!
3عمرم چون دود به سرعت ناپديد می‌شود و استخوانهايم همچون چوب خشک می‌سوزد. 4دل من مانند گياهی است كه كوبيده و خشک شده باشد. غذا خوردن را از ياد برده‌ام. 5با صدای بلند می‌نالم؛ جز پوست و استخوان چيزی در بدنم نمانده است. 6همچون پرنده‌ای وحشی، آوارهٔ صحرا شده‌ام و چون جغد خرابه‌نشين، بی‌خانمان گشته‌ام. 7مانند گنجشكی بر پشت بام، تنها مانده‌ام؛ خواب به چشمانم نمی‌رود. 8هر روز دشمنانم مرا تحقير می‌كنند و مخالفانم مرا لعنت می‌نمايند.
9-10به سبب خشم و غضب تو ای خداوند، غذای من خاكستر است و نوشيدنی‌ام با اشكهايم آميخته است. زيرا تو مرا برداشتی و به كنار انداختی. 11عمرم چون سايه‌های عصر، زودگذر است؛ همچون علف خشک پژمرده شده‌ام.
12اما تو ای خداوند، تا ابد پادشاه هستی؛ ذكر تو در تمام نسلها باقی خواهد ماند. 13تو برخاسته، بر اورشليم ترحم خواهی فرمود؛ اكنون زمان آن رسيده است كه بر اورشليم رحمت فرمايی. 14بندگان تو سنگها و خاک اورشليم را دوست دارند!
15قومها از نام خداوند خواهند ترسيد و همه پادشاهان جهان از قدرت و عظمت او هراسان خواهند شد. 16او شهر اورشليم را دوباره بنا خواهد كرد و با جلال و شكوه فراوان ظاهر خواهد شد. 17به دعای قوم درمانده خود توجه نموده، ايشان را اجابت خواهد نمود. 18آنچه كه خداوند انجام می‌دهد برای نسل آينده نوشته خواهد شد تا ايشان نيز او را ستايش كنند:
19-20«خداوند از مكان مقدس خود در آسمان، به زمين نظر انداخت تا ناله اسيران را بشنود و آنها را كه به مرگ محكوم شده بودند، آزاد سازد.» 21-22بنابراين وقتی قومها در اورشليم گرد هم بيايند تا خدا را در خانهٔ او پرستش كنند، نام خداوند در اورشليم ستوده و سراييده خواهد شد.
23خداوند در جوانی‌ام توان مرا از من گرفته و عمرم را كوتاه ساخته است. 24ای خدای من، نگذار در جوانی بميرم! تو تا ابد زنده هستی! 25در ازل، تو بنياد زمين را نهادی و آسمانها عمل دست تو می‌باشند. 26آنها فانی می‌شوند، اما تو باقی هستی. همهٔ آنها چون جامه، پوسيده خواهند شد؛ و همچون ردا، آنها را عوض خواهی نمود و از بين خواهند رفت. 27اما تو جاودانی هستی و برای تو هرگز پايانی وجود ندارد.
28فرزندان بندگانت، هميشه در امان خواهند بود و نسل آنها از حمايت تو برخوردار خواهند شد.
