1And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2And, behold, there was a man named Zacchæus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchæus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. 6And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. 7And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. 8And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. 11And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. 12He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. 13And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. 14But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. 15And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. 17And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. 18And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. 19And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. 20And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: 21For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. 22And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: 23Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? 24And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. 25(And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) 26For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. 27But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
28¶ And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem. 29And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, 30Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. 31And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. 32And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. 33And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? 34And they said, The Lord hath need of him. 35And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. 36And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. 37And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
41¶ And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, 42Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. 43For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. 45And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; 46Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. 47And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, 48And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
삭개오가 주님을 영접함
1예수님이 여리고에 들어가 거리를 지나가고 계셨다.
2마침 거기 삭개오라는 사람이 있었다. 그는 세관장이며 부자였다.
3그는 예수님이 어떤 분인지 보려고 하였으나 키가 작은 데다 사람들이 너무 많아서 볼 수가 없었다.
4그래서 그는 예수님이 지나가시려는 길을 앞질러 달려가서 그분을 보려고 19:4 암시됨.길가에 있는 뽕나무에 올라갔다.
5예수님이 그 곳에 이르러 그를 쳐다보시며 “삭개오야, 어서 내려오너라. 오늘 내가 네 집에 머물러야겠다” 하고 말씀하시자
6삭개오는 급히 내려와 기뻐하며 예수님을 영접하였다.
7사람들은 이것을 보고 “저분이 죄인의 집에 들어가 대접을 받다니” 하며 모두 수군거렸다.
8삭개오는 일어서서 주님께 이렇게 말하였다. “주님, 제 재산의 절반을 가난한 사람들에게 나누어 주겠습니다. 그리고 제가 남의 것을 속여 뺏은 것이 있으면 4배로 갚겠습니다.”
9그러자 예수님이 삭개오에게 말씀하셨다. “오늘 이 집에 구원이 찾아왔다. 이 사람도 아브라함의 자손이기 때문이다.
1019:10 원문에는 ‘인자’ (사람의아들)나는 잃어버린 사람들을 찾아 구원하러 왔다.”
열 므나의 비유
11예수님이 예루살렘 가까이 오셨고 또 사람들은 하나님의 나라가 곧 나타날 것으로 생각하고 있었기 때문에 예수님은 그들이 이 말씀을 듣고 있을 때 비유를 들어
12다시 말씀하셨다. “어떤 귀족이 왕위를 받아오려고 먼 나라로 가게 되었다.
13그래서 그는 열 명의 종을 불러 한 19:13 1므나 100데나리온, 100일동안의품삯. 하루품삯 10,000원으로계산할경 1 므나는 100만 원이 된다.므나씩 나누어 주면서 ‘내가 돌아올 때까지 이 돈으로 장사를 하라’ 하였다.
14그러나 그의 백성은 그를 미워하여 대표단을 뒤따라 보내 ‘우리는 이 사람이 우리 왕이 되는 것을 원하지 않습니다’ 하였다.
15“그 귀족은 왕위를 받아 가지고 돌아와서 돈을 맡긴 종들이 장사를 어떻게 했는지 알아보려고 그들을 불렀다.
16그러자 첫번째 종이 와서 ‘주인님, 저는 한 므나로 열 므나를 벌었습니다’ 하고 말하였다.
17그래서 주인이 그에게 ‘잘하였다, 착한 종아. 네가 아주 작은 일에 충실하였으니 네게 열 도시를 다스리는 권한을 주겠다’ 하였다.
18두 번째 종은 와서 ‘주인님, 저는 한 므나로 다섯 므나를 벌었습니다’ 하고 말하였다.
19그래서 주인은 그에게도 ‘네게 다섯 도시를 다스리는 권한을 주겠다’ 하였다.
20그런데 다른 종은 와서 이렇게 말하였다. ‘주인님, 주인님의 한 므나가 여기 있습니다. 내가 이것을 수건에 싸서 잘 간수하였습니다.
21주인님은 지독한 분이시기 때문에 내가 주인님을 두려워하여 그렇게 했습니다. 주인님은 19:21 또는 ‘두지 않은 것을’남의 것을 빼앗아 가고, 심지도 않은 것을 거둬들이십니다.’
22그러자 주인이 그에게 말하였다. ‘이 악 한 종아, 내가 네 말로 너를 판단한다. 너는 내가 남의 것이나 빼앗고 심지도 않은 것을 거둬들이는 지독한 사람인 줄로 알았느냐?
23그렇다면 왜 내 돈을 은행에 맡기지 않았느냐? 그랬더라면 내가 돌아왔을 때 이자와 원금을 함께 받을 수 있지 않았겠느냐?’
24그러고서 주인은 곁에 선 사람들에게 ‘그에게서 한 므나를 빼앗아 열 므나 가진 사람에게 주어라’ 하고 말하였다.
25그러자 사람들이 ‘주인님, 그에게는 이미 열 므나가 있습니다’ 하였다.
26그래서 주인이 대답하였다. ‘내가 너희에게 말하지만 누구든지 있는 사람은 더 받을 것이고 없는 사람은 있는 것마저 빼앗길 것이다.
27그리고 너희는 내가 왕 되는 것을 원치 않던 저 원수들을 이리 끌어다가 내 앞에서 죽여라.’ ”
예루살렘 도착
28예수님은 이 말씀을 하시고 앞장서서 예루살렘을 향해 가셨다.
29감람산 기슭 벳바게와 베다니에 이르렀을 때 예수님은 두 제자를 보내시며
30이렇게 말씀하셨다. “너희는 맞은편 마을로 가거라. 거기에 가면 아무도 타 보지 않은 나귀 새끼 한 마리가 매여 있을 것이다. 풀어서 이리 끌고 오너라.
31만일 누가 ‘왜 나귀를 푸시오?’ 하고 묻거든 ‘주님이 쓰십니다’ 하여라.”
32그들이 가 보니 예수님이 말씀하신 대로 나귀 새끼가 매여 있었다.
33그래서 그들이 나귀 새끼를 풀자 주인이 “왜 나귀 새끼를 푸시오?” 하고 물었다.
34제자들은 “주님이 쓰십니다” 하고
35그 나귀를 끌고 와 자기들의 겉옷을 나귀 등에 펴고 예수님을 태웠다.
36예수님이 나귀를 타고 가시자 사람들은 겉옷을 벗어 길에 폈다.
37예수님이 감람산 비탈길 가까이 오셨을 때 수많은 제자들이 자기들이 본 모든 기적에 대하여 기뻐하며 큰 소리로 하나님을 찬양하여
38“주의 이름으로 오시는 왕이 복이 있다! 하늘에는 평화! 가장 높은 곳에는 영광!” 하고 외쳤다.
39그러자 군중 가운데 끼어 있던 몇몇 바리새파 사람들이 예수님께 “선생님, 당신의 제자들을 책망하십시오” 하였다.
40그래서 예수님이 “내가 너희에게 말하지만 이 사람들이 잠잠하면 돌들이 소리지를 것이다” 하고 말씀하셨다.
41예수님은 예루살렘 가까이 오셔서 그 도시를 바라보고 우시면서
42이렇게 말씀하셨다. “너도 오늘날 너에게 평화를 가져다 주는 것이 무엇인지 알았더라면 좋았을 텐데. 그러나 지금 그것이 너에게 숨겨져 있구나.
43네 원수들이 너를 향해 둑을 쌓고 사방으로 너를 포위하여
44너와 네 자녀들을 19:44 또는 ‘땅에메어치며’완전히 멸망시키고 돌 하나도 그대로 남겨 두지 않을 때가 올 것이다. 이것은 19:44 또는 ‘권고받는날’하나님이 너에게 찾아온 때를 네가 알지 못했기 때문이다.”
성전에서 된 일
45예수님은 성전에 들어가 장사하는 사람들을 쫓아내시며
46“19:46 사56:7‘내 성전은 기도하는 집이다’ 라고 성경에 쓰여 있는데 너희는 이 집을 강도의 소굴로 만들었다” 하고 말씀하셨다.
47예수님이 날마다 성전에서 가르치시자 대제사장들과 율법학자들과 백성의 지도자들이 예수님을 죽이려고 하였다.
48그러나 모든 백성이 예수님의 말씀을 열심히 듣고 있었기 때문에 그들은 어떻게 할 수가 없었다.
