1Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: 2Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. 9Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. 10But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. 14And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.
17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

1イエス・キリストに仕えているヤコブの兄弟ユダから、各地のクリスチャンの皆さんへ。あなたがたは、神に選ばれ、イエス・キリストに守られている人たちです。 2どうか、神の恵みと平安と愛とが、ますます豊かに与えられますように。
真理を守る戦い
3愛する皆さん。私は前々から、神が与えてくださった救いについて、幾つかのことを手紙で書き送りたいと願っていました。ところが今、それとは別のことを書き送らなければなりません。それは、神を信じるすべての者に与えられた真理のことばを守るために、勇敢に戦ってほしいということです。
4こう言うのも、実は、神を恐れない者たちが、あなたがたの中に忍び込んで来たからです。彼らの主張はこうです。「クリスチャンとなったからには、もう神のさばきなど、くよくよ考える必要はない。何でも自由にやりたいことをやればいい。」彼らはずっと昔から、聖書に書かれているとおりの運命をたどる者たちで、私たちのただひとりの支配者であり主であるイエス・キリストを否定しているのです。
5私の答えはこうです。とうにわかっているでしょうが、あなたがたに思い出してもらいたいのです。主は、イスラエルの全民衆をエジプトから救い出し、そのあとで、主に信頼せず従いもしなかった者を一人残らず殺してしまわれた、という事実をです。 6また、もう一つ心にとめてほしいことがあります。それは、かつては汚れなく、きよい存在であったにもかかわらず、罪に堕落していった、あの天使たちのことです。神は、彼らを審判の日まで鎖につなぎ、暗黒の牢獄に閉じ込めてしまわれました。 7また、ソドムとゴモラ、およびその周辺の町々に起こったことも忘れてはなりません。これらの町は、同性愛やあらゆる種類の好色に満ち、そのために、永遠の刑罰の火で焼き滅ぼされたのです。これらのことは、最後のさばきがあることを、後世の人々に知らせる警告となったのです。
8それにもかかわらず、偽教師は臆面もなく、邪悪で不道徳な生活にふけっています。みだらな行為によって自分の肉体を汚し、神の権威を軽んじ、さらに天使をも非難しているのです。 9天使として最高の権威を持つミカエルでさえ、モーセの体について悪魔と言い争った時、あえて相手をののしったり、あざけったりはせず、「主がおまえをとがめてくださるように」と言っただけではありませんか（ダニエル10章）。 10しかし、あの偽教師たちときたら、自分にもわからないことを非難し、ののしっています。まるで動物のように、したいほうだいのことをして、自分のたましいを永遠の滅びへと追いやったのです。
11災いが彼らに下りますように。カインやバラムやコラと同じ道をたどっているからです。
12こういう者たちが、教会での愛の会食に加われば大きな汚点を残します。彼らは、他人のことなどおかまいなしに大声で笑ったり、ふざけたりしながら、むさぼり食うのです。まるで、からからに乾ききった大地の上を、一滴の雨も降らせずに通り過ぎる雲のようです。大いに期待させるだけで、何の役にも立ちません。また、彼らは収穫の時期になっても、実一つつけない木に似ています。その状態はただの死ではなく、二重の死を意味します。彼らは根こそぎ引き抜かれて、焼かれるしかないのですから。 13彼らがあとに残すのは、海岸に打ち寄せる荒波が残していく、汚いあぶくのような恥と不名誉だけです。彼らは一見、夜空に輝く星のように見えますが、その先には、神が用意された永遠の暗闇があるだけです。
14最初の人アダムと近い年代に生きたエノクも、彼らのことを知っていて、「見よ。主が幾百万の聖徒を連れて来られる。 15主は全世界の人を自分の前に立たせて、正当な刑罰を宣告される。その時、彼らの神に対する恐るべき反逆行為の数々と、神に刃向かうことばのいっさいが明るみに出される」と預言しています。 16彼らはいつも不平を言うだけで、ただ欲望のままに歩んでいます。どんな悪事でも平気で行い、大口をたたき、彼らが少しでも人をほめるとすれば、相手から何かをもらおうという魂胆がある時だけです。
信仰を土台とする生活
17愛する皆さん。主イエスの使徒たちから教えられたことを、思い出してください。 18終末の時代には、主をあざける者たちが現れるはずではありませんか。彼らの生きがいは、思いつくかぎりの悪を行うことです。 19彼らはこの世の悪を愛し、人々をあおりたてて議論をしかけ、分裂させます。彼らの心の中には、聖霊が住んでおられないのです。 20しかし、愛する人たち。あなたがたは、今のきよい信仰を土台として、自分の生活をしっかり打ち立てなければなりません。そして、聖霊の力と励ましを受けて祈り、 21いつも神の愛のうちにいなさい。そうすれば、神から祝福がいただけます。永遠のいのちに至らせる、主イエス・キリストの恵みを待ち望みなさい。 22偽教師の惑わしに悩まされ、神の真理を疑う人々を心にかけなさい。 23そういう人々を、地獄の火から奪い取って救い出しなさい。あるいは、親切にして、彼らが主を見いだすよう助けてあげなさい。しかし、彼らの罪に引きずられてはなりません。罪人である彼らに心はかけても、罪そのものは憎みなさい。
24-25あなたがたをつまずきから守り、罪のない完全な者とし、大きな喜びをもって栄光に輝く神の前に立てるようにしてくださる方に、すべての栄光がありますように。私たちの救い主であるただひとりの神に、栄光と尊厳、あらゆる力と権威が、今も、これから後も、いつまでもありますように。アーメン。
