4¶ And the coast of Og king of Bashan, which was of the remnant of the giants, that dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei, 5And reigned in mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon. 6Them did Moses the servant of the LORD and the children of Israel smite: and Moses the servant of the LORD gave it for a possession unto the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.

Regii din Transiordania, înfrânți de Moise
1Aceștia sunt regii țării, pe care fiii lui Israel i‑au învins și ale căror teritorii le‑au luat în stăpânire la răsărit de Iordan, de la uedul1-2 Vale sau albie de râu secată, situată într‑un ținut arid, care acumulează apele de pe versanți în timpul sezonului ploios, creând un pârâu temporar. 2Sihon, regele amoriților, locuia la Heșbon și stăpânea de la Aroer, care se află pe malul uedului Arnon, de la jumătatea uedului, peste o jumătate din Ghilad, până la uedul Iabok, hotarul fiilor lui Amon, 3de la Araba până la marea Chineret3 Marea Galileei., în răsărit, și până la Marea Arabei (Marea Sărată3 Marea Moartă.), tot în răsărit, pe drumul către Bet‑Ieșimot, iar în partea de sud până la poalele muntelui Pisga.
4Og, regele Bașanului, unul dintre ultimii refaiți, locuia atât la Aștarot, cât și la Edrei 5și stăpânea peste Hermon, Salca, peste întregul Bașan până la hotarul gheșuriților și al maacatiților și peste jumătate din Ghilad până la hotarul cu Sihon, regele Heșbonului.
6Moise, robul Domnului, împreună cu fiii lui Israel i‑au învins, și Moise, robul Domnului, a dat acest teritoriu în stăpânirea rubeniților, gadiților și jumătății seminției lui Manase.

7Aceștia sunt regii țării, pe care Iosua și fiii lui Israel i‑au învins în partea de apus a Iordanului, de la Baal‑Gad în Valea Libanului, până la muntele Halak, care se înalță către Seir. Iosua a dat‑o drept moștenire semințiilor lui Israel, potrivit cu părțile alocate fiecăruia, 8în munte, în zona deluroasă8 Vezi nota de la 9:1., în Araba, la poalele munților, în pustie și în Neghev8 Vezi nota de la 10:40.
