Zofar: Unrecht Gut gedeiht nicht!
1Nun fiel ihm Zofar aus Naama ins Wort:
2»Jetzt muss ich dir etwas sagen, Hiob!
Ich kann nicht länger warten!
3Dein Gerede beleidigt mich,
doch ich bin klug genug,
dir die passende Antwort zu geben!
4-5Seit Urzeiten,
seit Gott den Menschen auf die Erde setzte,
gilt dieses eine Gesetz:
Die Freude des Gottlosen ist nicht von Dauer;
sein Glück währt nur für kurze Zeit!
Weißt du das nicht?
6Steigt er auch in seinem Stolz bis in den Himmel auf
und reicht er mit dem Kopf bis an die Wolken,
7wird er doch für immer vergehen,
genauso wie sein eigener Kot.
Wer diesen Menschen kannte, wird sich fragen:
›Wo ist er nur geblieben?‹
8-9Er wird spurlos verschwinden wie ein Traum,
verfliegen wie ein flüchtiger Gedanke;
wo er wohnte, wird ihn keiner mehr erblicken.
10Seine Söhne werden bei den Armen betteln gehen,
weil er sein Hab und Gut zurückerstatten musste.
11Noch strotzt er vor Kraft,
doch bald wird er im Staube liegen.
12-13Böses tun ist ihm ein Vergnügen, ein Leckerbissen,
den er sich auf der Zunge zergehen lässt,
den er lange im Mund behält,
um den Geschmack nicht zu verlieren.
14Doch sobald er ihn verzehrt hat,
wird der Leckerbissen zu Schlangengift.
15Das unrechte Gut, das er verschlingt,
muss er wieder erbrechen, weil Gott ihn dazu zwingt!
16Was er so gierig in sich aufsaugt,
stellt sich als Schlangengift heraus;
ein Biss der Viper bringt ihn um.
17Er wird nicht im Überfluss leben;
Ströme von Milch und Honig fließen nicht für ihn.
18Was er sich mühevoll erworben hat,
muss er zurückgeben;
er darf es nicht genießen,
an seinem großen Gewinn kann er sich niemals freuen.
19Denn er unterdrückt und beraubt die Armen;
Häuser, die er selbst nicht baute, reißt er an sich.
20Seine Habgier, sie kennt keine Grenzen,
doch mit seinen Schätzen wird er nicht entkommen!
21Nichts ist seiner Fressgier je entgangen,
doch wird sein Wohlstand nur von kurzer Dauer sein.
22Auf der Höhe seiner Macht wird ihm angst und bange,
das Unglück trifft ihn mit voller Wucht.
23Soll er sich doch den Bauch vollschlagen!
Irgendwann kommt Gottes Zorn auf ihn herab;
er lässt seine Schläge auf ihn niederregnen.
24Wenn er dann um sein Leben läuft,
weil er dem Schwert entkommen will,
wird ihn einer mit dem Bogen niederstrecken.
25Der Bogenschütze zielt auf ihn und schießt:
Ein Pfeil durchbohrt sein Herz
und tritt am Rücken wieder aus;
so stirbt er, voller Angst.
26Seine angehäuften Schätze hat Gott fürs Unglück aufbewahrt;
ein Feuer wird sie verzehren,
das nicht von Menschenhand entzündet wurde.
Und wer in seinem Zelt noch überlebt,
dem wird es schlecht ergehen.
27Der Himmel wird seine ganze Schuld enthüllen
und die Erde gegen ihn als Zeuge auftreten.
28Was er im Laufe seines Lebens erworben hat,
wird in nichts zerrinnen,
wenn Gott in seinem Zorn Gericht hält.
29Wer sich Gott widersetzt,
hat dieses Ende verdient.
Dieses unheilvolle Erbe hat Gott ihm zugedacht.«
