2「気でもおかしくなったのか。
助言してほしいのなら、
少しは筋の通ったことを言うことだ。
3それではまるで、
私たちが、愚かで物言わぬ獣みたいではないか。
4あなたが怒って着物を裂いただけで、
地震が起こったり、
岩が動いて移ったりするとでも思っているのか。
5物事がうまくいかないとしたら、
それはあなたが罪深かったからだ。
炎が消えて当然だ。
6悪の居座る家には暗闇がつきものなのだから。
7罪深い悪者は肩で風を切って歩くが、
急に足もとが危うくなり、
全身の力が抜けていくのがわかる。
8-9彼は落とし穴に落ち、
待ち伏せしていた追いはぎの餌食になる。
10どこを通っても、罠がしかけられている。
11敵が、すぐあとをつけているのだから、
彼が怖がるのもむりはない。
12飢えのために消耗しきった彼を、
災難が待ちかまえている。
13病気が皮膚をむしばみ、死が彼をむさぼり食う。
14日ごろ頼りにしていた富にもそっぽを向かれ、
恐怖の王のもとへ引き立てられる。
15家も、燃える硫黄の集中攻撃を浴びて姿をかき消す。
16彼は根元から枯れ、枝は一本残らず切り取られる。
17彼の記憶は地上から一掃され、
彼を覚えている者は一人もいなくなる。
18彼は光の国から闇の国へと追いやられ、
この世から立ち退くよう命じられる。
19子も孫も親類縁者もいなくなる。
20老人も若者も、彼の運命を知っておびえる。
21これが、神を信じない罪人の行き着く先だ。」
