1And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. 2And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. 10¶ Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying,7.10 Moreover…: Heb. And the LORD added to speak 11Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.7.11 ask it…: or, make thy petition deep 12But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD. 13And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? 14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.7.14 shall call: or, thou, O virgin, shalt call 15Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. 16For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.
17¶ The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria. 18And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. 19And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.7.19 bushes: or, commendable trees 20In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard. 21And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep; 22And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.7.22 the land: Heb. the midst of the land 23And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns. 24With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns. 25And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
Ang Mensahi para kay Haring Ahaz
1Sang si Ahaz nga anak ni Jotam kag apo ni Uzia ang hari sang Juda, ginsalakay ang Jerusalem. Ang nagsalakay amo si Haring Rezin sang Aram7:1 Aram: ukon, Syria. kag si Haring Peka sang Israel, nga anak ni Remalia. Pero wala nila maagaw ang Jerusalem.
2Sang nabalitaan sang hari sang Juda7:2 hari sang Juda: sa literal, panimalay ni David. nga nag-isa ang Aram kag ang Israel,7:2 Israel: sa Hebreo, Efraim. Isa ka tawag sa ginharian sang Israel. nagkurog siya kag ang iya mga tawo sa kahadlok. Nagkulurog sila pareho sa mga kahoy nga ginauyog sang hangin.
3Nagsiling ang Ginoo kay Isaias, “Upda ang imo anak nga si Shear Jashub7:3 Shear Jashub: buot silingon sa Hebreo, ang nagkalabilin magabalik. kag sugataa ninyo si Ahaz sa may punta sang ililigan sang ibabaw nga punong, didto dampi sa dalan pakadto sa lugar nga ginapanglabhan. 4Amo ini ang isiling mo sa iya, ‘Maghanda ka! Magkalma ka lang kag indi magkahadlok. Indi ka magpakulba tungod lang sa puwerte nga kaakig ni Haring Rezin sang Aram kag ni Haring Peka nga anak ni Remalia. Ini sila pareho lang sa duha ka tuod sang kahoy nga nagaaso pero wala sing kalayo. 5Nagplano sila sa paglaglag sa imo. Nagsiling sila, 6“Salakayon naton ang Juda kag pierdihon. Pamartidahon naton ang kadutaan sini kag himuon dayon naton nga hari didto ang anak ni Tabeel.”
7“ ‘Pero nagasiling ang Ginoong Dios nga indi gid ini matabo. 8-9Kay ang Damascus amo lang ang kapital sang Aram, kag si Rezin nagahari lang sa Damascus. Kag ang Samaria amo lang ang kapital sang Israel, kag si Peka nga anak ni Remalia nagahari7:8-9 kapital… nagahari: sa literal, ulo… ulo. lang sa Samaria. Malaglag ang Israel sa sulod sang 65 ka tuig, gani indi na ini matawag nga isa ka nasyon. Kon indi malig-on ang inyo pagtuo malaglag gid kamo.’ ”
10Karon, nagsiling liwat ang Ginoo kay Ahaz, 11“Magpangayo ka sang tanda sa akon, ang Ginoo nga imo Dios, sa pagpamatuod nga tumanon ko ang akon promisa. Bisan pa maghalin man ini sa idalom, didto sa lugar sang mga patay, ukon sa ibabaw, didto sa langit.” 12Nagsabat si Ahaz, “Indi ako magpangayo sang tanda. Indi ko pagtilawan ang Ginoo.”
13Nagsiling si Isaias, “Pamati kamo, kaliwat ni David! Indi pa bala tuman ang pagpaugtas ninyo sa mga tawo? Kag karon ang akon Dios naman ang inyo ginapaugtas! 14Gani ang Ginoo mismo ang maghatag sa inyo sang tanda. Kag amo ini ang tanda: Magabusong ang isa ka bataon nga babayi7:14 bataon nga babayi: sa Septuagint, birhen. kag magabata sing lalaki. Kag pagatawgon niya ang bata nga ‘Emmanuel.’7:14 Emmanuel: buot silingon, ang Dios kaupod naton. 15Sa tion nga matubuan na sing buot ang bata, magakaon siya sing keso7:15 keso: o, yogurt. kag dugos. 16Pero antes siya matubuan sang buot, ang duta sang duha ka hari nga ginakahadlukan mo, Ahaz, malaglag kag pabay-an na lang. 17Sa ulihi, ikaw kag ang imo katawhan, pati ang imo harianon nga pamilya, ipasalakay sang Ginoo sa hari sang Asiria. Kag maagihan ninyo ang kalisod nga wala pa ninyo maagihan halin sang nagseparar ang Israel sa Juda.
18“Sa sina nga tion, magapanihol ang Ginoo sa pagtawag sa mga taga-Egipto kag taga-Asiria. Kag magaabot ang mga taga-Egipto nga daw sa mga langaw halin sa malayo nga mga suba sang Egipto, kag magaabot man ang mga taga-Asiria nga daw sa mga putyukan. 19Magaabot ini sila kag magaestar sa bisan diin: sa madalom nga mga ililigan sang tubig, sa mga buho sang dalagko nga mga bato, sa tunukon nga mga kahoy-kahoy, kag sa mga palahalban.
20“Sa sina nga tion, gamiton sang Ginoo ang hari sang Asiria sa paglaglag sing bug-os sa inyo duta. Pareho siya sa barbero nga halin sa tabok sang Suba sang Eufrates nga ginsuhulan sa pagkiskis sang inyo buhok, balahibo, kag pati sang inyo mga burangos.
21“Sa sina nga tion, ang masagod sang mga tawo tig-isa lang ka bakiya nga baka kag duha ka kanding, 22nga amo lang ang ila kuhaan sang ila gatas. Gatas kag dugos ang mangin pagkaon sang tanan nga mabilin sa Juda. 23Sa sina man nga tion, ang talamnan sang ubas nga may 1,000 ka puno nga nagabili sing 1,000 ka pilak mapuno sang tunukon nga mga kahoy-kahoy kag mangin masiot na. 24Magapangayam ang mga tawo didto dala ang ila mga pana kag bangkaw, tungod kay masiot na ini kag puno sang tunukon nga mga kahoy-kahoy. 25Wala na sing may magkadto sa mga bukid didto nga sang una anay ginatamnan, tungod kay mangin masiot na ini kag puno sang tunukon nga mga kahoy-kahoy. Mangin palahalban na lang ini sang mga baka, karnero kag kanding.”
