13¶ When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain; 14And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people. 15For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. 16For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.

потомки развратника и блудницы!
4Над кем вы глумитесь?
Кому вы скалите зубы
и показываете язык?
Разве вы не дети отступничества,
не порождение лжи?
5Вы разжигаетесь похотью среди дубов
и под каждым тенистым деревом;
своих детей вы приносите в жертву при ручьях
и под нависающими утёсами.
6Блудница Исраил, идолы из гладких камней, что в ручьях, – твоя доля;
они, они – твой жребий.
Ты им возливала жертвенные возлияния
и приносила хлебные приношения.
Могу ли Я спокойно смотреть на всё это?
7На высокой и величественной горе ты ставишь свою постель
и восходишь туда приносить свои жертвы.
8За дверями своими, за их косяками,
ты поставила своих идолов.
Оставляя Меня, ты открыла свою постель,
забралась на неё, расстелила её широко;
заключила союз с теми, с кем ты любишь лежать,
и глазела на их срамные места.
9Ты ходила к Молоху57:9 Или: «к царю». Молох – аммонитский бог, в жертву которому приносились дети (см. ст. 5). По Закону за поклонение Молоху исраильтянам грозила смертная казнь (см. Лев. 18:21; 20:2-5). с ароматным маслом
и умножала свои благовония.
Ты отправляла послов вдаль
и сама спускалась в мир мёртвых!
10Ты уставала от множества твоих путей,
но не говорила: «Это бессмысленно».
Ты находила новые силы
и не изнемогала.
11Кого ты так боялась и страшилась,
что лгала Мне,
не помнила обо Мне
и в сердце не размышляла?
Не оттого ли, что Я долго молчал,
ты не боишься Меня?
12Я разоблачу твою так называемую праведность и твои дела,
и они тебе не помогут.
13Когда ты будешь кричать о помощи,
пусть спасает тебя твоя коллекция идолов!
Ветер их унесёт,
дуновение развеет.
Но сделавший Меня своим прибежищем
унаследует землю
и будет владеть Моей святой горой.
Утешение для кающихся
14И будет сказано:
– Прокладывайте, прокладывайте, готовьте путь!
Убирайте препятствия с пути Моего народа!
15Потому что так говорит Превознесённый и Возвеличенный,
Живущий вечно, Чьё имя – Святой:
– Я живу на святой высоте,
но также и с теми, кто сокрушён и смирен духом:
чтобы оживлять дух смиренных
и оживлять сердца сокрушённых.
16Не вовеки буду Я обвинять
и не всегда буду гневаться,
иначе изнемог бы предо Мною человеческий дух
и дыхание человеческое, созданное Мною.
17Я был разгневан их греховной корыстью,
Я наказывал их и в гневе скрывал Своё лицо,
но они снова возвращались на свой путь.
18Я видел пути их, но всё равно Я исцелю их;
Я буду вести их и утешать,
19вкладывая в уста плакальщиков Исраила хвалу.
Мир, мир дальним и ближним, –
говорит Вечный. –
Я исцелю их.
20Но нечестивые подобны бурному морю,
которому нет покоя,
чьи волны выбрасывают ил и грязь.
21– Нет мира нечестивым, –
говорит мой Бог.
