1Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.56.1 judgment: or, equity 2Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
3¶ Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. 4For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; 5Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. 6Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; 7Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. 8The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.56.8 beside…: Heb. to his gathered
9¶ All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest. 10His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.56.10 sleeping: or, dreaming, or, talking in their sleep 11Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.56.11 greedy: Heb. strong of appetite56.11 can…: Heb. know not to be satisfied 12Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.
Mântuire pentru toți cei ce ascultă
1Așa vorbește Domnul:
„Păziți judecata
și faceți ce este drept!
Căci, în curând, mântuirea Mea va veni
și dreptatea Mea va fi arătată.
2Ferice de omul care face lucrul acesta
și de fiul omului care se ține strâns de el,
care păzește Sabatul și nu îl profanează,
care își ferește mâna să facă vreun rău.“
3Străinul care se alipește de Domnul să nu zică:
„Domnul mă va separa, cu siguranță, de poporul Său.“
Iar eunucul să nu zică:
„Iată, sunt doar un copac uscat.“
4Căci așa vorbește Domnul:
„Eunucilor care păzesc Sabatele Mele,
care aleg să facă ceea ce Îmi este plăcut
și care se țin strâns de legământul Meu
5le voi da în Casa Mea și între zidurile Mele
un loc de cinste și un nume
mai bun decât al fiilor și al fiicelor;
le voi da un nume veșnic,
care nu va fi curmat.
6Iar pe străinii care se alipesc de Domnul
ca să‑I slujească,
ca să iubească Numele Domnului
și ca să‑I fie slujitori –
pe toți cei ce păzesc Sabatul și nu îl profanează,
pe toți cei ce se țin strâns de legământul Meu –
7pe aceștia îi voi aduce la muntele Meu cel sfânt
și îi voi face să fie plini de bucurie
în Casa Mea de rugăciune.
Arderile lor de tot și jertfele lor
vor fi acceptate pe altarul Meu,
căci Casa Mea va fi numită
o casă de rugăciune pentru toate popoarele.“
8Stăpânul Domn –
Cel Care‑i adună pe deportații lui Israel – zice:
„Voi aduna și pe alții alături de ei,
pe lângă cei deja adunați!“
Mesajul Domnului către cei nelegiuiți
9Veniți, voi, toate vietățile câmpului!
Veniți și devorați, voi, toate vietățile pădurii!
10Străjerii lui Israel sunt orbi,
sunt toți fără cunoaștere.
Toți sunt niște câini de pază muți,
care nu pot să latre,
care stau tolăniți și visează
și cărora le place să doarmă.
11Sunt niște câini cu apetit mare,
niciodată sătui.
Sunt niște păstori fără pricepere,
fiecare urmându‑și propria cale,
fiecare, fără excepție,
umblând după câștigul său nedrept.
12„Veniți! Voi scoate vin
și ne vom îmbăta cu băutură tare!
Iar mâine va fi ca azi,
ba încă mai bine!“
