1Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. 2For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name. 3I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass. 4Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;48.4 obstinate: Heb. hard 5I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them. 6Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them. 7They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them. 8Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
9¶ For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off. 10Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.48.10 with…: or, for silver 11For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.
12¶ Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last. 13Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.48.13 my…: or, the palm of my right hand hath spread out 14All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans. 15I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
16¶ Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me. 17Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. 18O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: 19Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
20¶ Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob. 21And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out. 22There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.

1“Pamati kamong mga kaliwat ni Jacob, kamong gitawag ug Israel, ug naggikan sa tribo ni Juda. Nanumpa kamo sa ngalan sa Ginoo, ug nagtawag kamo sa Dios sa Israel. Apan dili kini kinasingkasing, kay dili matarong ang inyong kinabuhi. 2Gitawag pa ninyo ang inyong kaugalingon nga mga lumulupyo sa balaang siyudad ug nagaingon nga nagsalig kamo sa Dios sa Israel, nga ang ngalan Ginoo nga Makagagahom.” 3Nagaingon siya kaninyo, “Giingon ko na kaniadto kon unsa ang mahitabo sa umaabot. Ug sa kalit lang gituman ko kini. 4Nahibalo ako kon unsa kamo kagahig ulo. Ang inyong liog sama kagahi sa puthaw, ug ang inyong agtang sama kagahi sa bronsi. 5Busa gisulti ko nang daan kaninyo ang akong buhaton. Sa wala pa kini mahitabo gipahibalo ko na kini kaninyo, aron dili kamo makaingon nga ang inyong mga dios-dios nga hinimo gikan sa kahoy ug metal mao ang nagbuhat ug nagtuman niini. 6Nadungog ninyo ang akong gipangbuhat ug nakita ninyo ang katumanan niini, apan dili kamo modawat nga ako ang nagbuhat niini. Sukad karon sultihan ko kamo sa bag-ong mga butang nga wala ko pa ipadayag kaninyo, ug wala pa ninyo masayri. 7Karon ko pa lang kini himoa, ug wala pa ninyo kini madunggi kaniadto, aron dili kamo makaingon nga, ‘Ah! Nasayod na kami niana!’ 8Wala kamo makadungog o makasabot niining mga butanga kay sukad pa kaniadto nagpabungol-bungol na kamo. Nasayod ako kon unsa kamo kamaluibon. Kay sukad pa sa inyong pagkatawo, mga masupilon na kamo. 9Alang sa akong kadungganan, pugngan ko ang akong kasuko kaninyo, aron dili kamo malaglag. 10Pamati! Gihinloan ko kamo apan dili sama sa pagputli sa plata. Gihinloan ko kamo pinaagi sa pagpaantos. 11Himuon ko kini alang sa akong kadungganan. Dili gayod ako motugot nga maulawan ako ug ang mga dios-dios ang mapasidunggan.
12“Pamati kamo kanako, kamong taga-Israel nga akong pinili. Ako ang Dios; ako ang sinugdanan ug ang kataposan sa tanan. 13Ako mismo ang nagbutang sa pundasyon sa kalibotan ug nagbukhad sa kalangitan. Kon magmando ako kanila, motuman sila.
14“Duol kamong tanan ug pamati. Kinsang dios-dios ang nagtagna nga sulongon sa akong higala48:14 higala: Tingali si Haring Cyrus. ang Babilonia aron sa pagtuman sa akong plano batok niini nga nasod? Wala gayod! 15Ako mismo ang nagsulti ug nagtawag kaniya. Sugoon ko siya ug magmadaogon siya sa iyang himuon. 16Duol kamo kanako ug pamatia kini: Sukad sa sinugdanan wala ako magsulti diha sa tago, ug sa panahon nga nahitabo ang akong mga gisulti, anaa ako.”
Ug karon ang Ginoong Dios ug ang iyang Espiritu nagpadala kanako aron sa pagsulti niini nga mensahe, 17“Miingon ang Ginoo nga inyong Manluluwas, ang Balaang Dios sa Israel: Ako ang Ginoo nga inyong Dios nga nagtudlo kaninyo kon unsa ang maayo alang kaninyo ug nagtultol kaninyo sa hustong dalan. 18Kon nagtuman lang unta kamo sa akong mga sugo, sama unta sa suba nga modagayday ang mga kaayohan diha kaninyo, ug magsunod-sunod lang unta ang inyong mga kadaogan48:18 kadaogan: o, pagkamatarong. sama sa mga balod nga nagalapya sa baybayon. 19Ang inyong mga kaliwat mahisama unta kadaghan sa balas nga dili maihap, ug dili gayod unta sila malaglag o mahanaw sa akong atubangan.”
20Biya kamo sa Babilonia! Imantala ninyo nga malipayon sa tibuok kalibotan48:20 tibuok kalibotan: sa literal, kinatumyan sa kalibotan. nga giluwas sa Ginoo ang iyang alagad, ang katawhan sa Israel.48:20 ang katawhan sa Israel: sa Hebreo, nga si Jacob. 21Wala sila uhawa sa dihang gipangulohan sila sa Dios didto sa mga kamingawan, kay gipatubod niya ang tubig alang kanila gikan sa bato.
