1But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. 4Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.43.4 life: or, person 5Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; 6I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; 7Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
8¶ Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears. 9Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth. 10Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.43.10 no…: or, nothing formed of God 11I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. 12I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. 13Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?43.13 let it: Heb. turn it back?
14¶ Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.43.14 nobles: Heb. bars 15I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King. 16Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; 17Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
18¶ Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. 20The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.43.20 owls: or, ostriches: Heb. daughters of the owl 21This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
22¶ But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel. 23Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. يگانه نجات دهندهٔ اسرائيل
1اما ای اسرائيل، خداوند كه تو را آفريده است اينک چنين می‌فرمايد: «نترس! زيرا من بهای آزادی تو را پرداخته‌ام. من تو را به نام خوانده‌ام. تو مال من هستی. 2هنگامی كه از آبهای عميق بگذری من با تو خواهم بود. هنگامی كه سيل مشكلات بر تو هجوم آورد، نخواهم گذاشت غرق شوی! هنگامی كه از ميان آتش ظلم و ستم عبور كنی، شعله‌هايش تو را نخواهد سوزاند! 3زيرا من خداوند، خدای مقدس تو هستم و تو را نجات می‌دهم. مصر و حبشه و سبا را فدای آزادی تو می‌كنم. 4تمام ممالک جهان را فدای تو خواهم كرد، زيرا تو برای من گرانبها و عزيز هستی و من تو را دوست دارم.
5«نترس، زيرا من با تو هستم. فرزندانت را از مشرق و مغرب، 6از شمال و جنوب جمع خواهم كرد. پسران و دخترانم را از گوشه و كنار جهان برخواهم گردانيد. 7تمام كسانی كه مرا خدای خود می‌دانند، خواهند آمد، زيرا ايشان را برای جلال خود آفريده‌ام.»
8خداوند می‌گويد: «قوم مرا كه چشم دارند، اما نمی‌بينند و گوش دارند، ولی نمی‌شنوند، به حضور من فرا خوانيد. 9همهٔ قومها را جمع كنيد و به آنها بگوييد از آن همه بتهايی كه دارند، كدام يک هرگز چنين رويدادهايی را پيشگويی كرده است؟ كدام يک می‌تواند بگويد فردا چه می‌شود؟ چه كسی ديده است كه آنها يک كلمه حرف بزنند؟ هيچكس گواهی نمی‌دهد، پس بايد اعتراف كنند كه تنها من می‌توانم از آينده خبر دهم.»
10خداوند می‌فرمايد: «ای اسرائيل، شما شاهدان و خدمتگزاران من هستيد. شما را انتخاب كرده‌ام تا مرا بشناسيد و ايمان بياوريد و بفهميد كه تنها من خدا هستم و خدايی ديگر هرگز نبوده و نيست و نخواهد بود. 11من خداوند هستم و غير از من نجات دهنده‌ای نيست. 12من بودم كه از آينده خبر می‌دادم و به كمک شما می‌شتافتم. خدای ديگری نبوده كه اين كارها را برای شما انجام داده است. شما شاهدان من هستيد. 13من خدا هستم و هميشه نيز خدا خواهم بود. كسی نمی‌تواند از دست من بگريزد و هيچكس نمی‌تواند مانع كار من بشود.»
رحمت خداوند و ناسپاسی اسرائيل
14خدای مقدس كه خداوند و نجات دهندهٔ اسرائيل است می‌فرمايد: «ای اسرائيل، برای نجات شما، سپاهی به بابل می‌فرستم تا بابلی‌ها را اسير كرده، آنان را در كشتی‌هايی بريزند كه به آنها فخر می‌كردند و از وطنشان دور كنند. 15ای اسرائيل، من خدای مقدس شما هستم. من آفريننده و پادشاه شما هستم. 16من همان خداوندی هستم كه آبها را كنار زده، از ميان دريا راهی باز كردم 17و سربازان قوی مصر را با همهٔ عرابه‌ها و اسبانشان بيرون آوردم تا زير امواج دريا فرو روند و شمع زندگيشان تا ابد خاموش شود.
18«اما آن را فراموش كنيد، زيرا در برابر آنچه كه می‌خواهم انجام دهم هيچ است! 19می‌خواهم كار تازه و بی‌سابقه‌ای انجام دهم. همين الان آن را انجام می‌دهم، آيا آن را نمی‌بينيد؟ در بيابان جهان برای قومم جاده‌ای می‌سازم تا به سرزمين خود بازگردند. برای ايشان در صحرا نهرها بوجود می‌آورم! 20حيوانات صحرا، شغالها و شترمرغها از من تشكر خواهند كرد كه در بيابان به آنها آب می‌دهم. بلی، چشمه‌ها در بيابان جاری می‌سازم تا قوم برگزيده‌ام را سيراب كنم. 21ای بنی‌اسرائيل، شما را برای خود بوجود آوردم تا در برابر قومهای ديگر مرا ستايش كنيد.
22«ولی ای قوم من، شما مرا ستايش نمی‌كنيد و از من خسته شده‌ايد. 23گوسفند برای قربانی سوختنی به من تقديم نكرده‌ايد. با قربانیهای خود مرا احترام ننموده‌ايد. من از شما نخواسته‌ام هديه و بخور برای من بياوريد، تا باری بر شما نگذاشته باشم و شما را خسته نكرده باشم. 24نه بخور خوشبو برای من خريده‌ايد و نه با تقديم پيه قربانیها خشنودم كرده‌ايد. به جای آنها بار گناهانتان را به من تقديم كرده‌ايد و با خطاهايتان مرا خسته كرده‌ايد. 25با وجود اين من خدايی هستم كه به خاطر خودم گناهان شما را پاک می‌سازم و آنها را ديگر هرگز به ياد نخواهم آورد.
26«آيا دليل قانع كننده‌ای داريد كه به من ارائه دهيد و ثابت كنيد كه شما بی‌گناه هستيد؟ 27اجدادتان از ابتدا نسبت به من گناه ورزيدند و رهبران شما احكام و قوانين مرا شكستند. 28به همين علت من كاهنانتان را بركنار نمودم و شما را دچار مصيبت ساختم و گذاشتم تا رسوا شويد.»
