4Car l’Eternel m’a dit :
Je me tiendrai tranquille ╵et je regarderai ╵de ma demeure,
pareil à la chaleur ╵dans la lumière ╵éblouissante du soleil,
pareil à la nuée ╵formée par la rosée ╵dans la chaleur de la moisson.
5Car, avant la moisson, ╵quand la floraison est finie,
quand la fleur deviendra ╵un raisin qui mûrit,

On enlèvera les sarments ╵et l’on élaguera les branches.
6Le tout sera abandonné
aux oiseaux de proie des montagnes
et aux bêtes sauvages :
les vautours en feront ╵leur nid pendant l’été,

7En ce temps-là, ╵le Seigneur des armées célestes ╵recevra des offrandes
de la part de ce peuple ╵à la taille élancée, ╵à la peau glabre,

nation à la langue barbare ╵et qui écrase tout,
dont le pays ╵est sillonné de fleuves,
