Genesis 1:1-31

1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.1.4 the light from…: Heb. between the light and between the darkness 5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. 26¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.1.28 moveth: Heb. creepeth

1Nang pasimula, nilikha ng Dios ang langit at ang lupa. 2Ang mundo noon ay wala pang anyo at wala pang laman. Ang tubig na bumabalot sa mundo ay balot ng kadiliman. At ang Espiritu ng Dios1:2 Espiritu ng Dios: o, kapangyarihan ng Dios; o, hanging mula sa Dios; o, malakas na hangin. ay kumikilos sa ibabaw ng mga tubig. 3Sinabi ng Dios, “Magkaroon ng liwanag!” At nagkaroon nga ng liwanag. 4Nasiyahan ang Dios sa liwanag na nakita niya. Pagkatapos, inihiwalay niya ang liwanag sa kadiliman. 5Tinawag niyang “araw” ang liwanag, at “gabi” naman ang kadiliman. Lumipas ang gabi at dumating ang umaga. Iyon ang unang araw.

6Pagkatapos, sinabi ng Dios, “Magkaroon ng pagitan na maghihiwalay sa tubig sa dalawang bahagi.” 7At nagkaroon nga ng pagitan na naghihiwalay sa tubig sa itaas at sa tubig sa ibaba. 8Ang pagitang itoʼy tinawag ng Dios na “kalawakan.” Lumipas ang gabi at dumating ang umaga. Iyon ang ikalawang araw.

9Pagkatapos, sinabi ng Dios, “Magsama sa isang lugar ang tubig sa mundo para lumitaw ang tuyong bahagi.” At iyon nga ang nangyari. 10Tinawag niyang “lupa” ang tuyong lugar, at “dagat” naman ang nagsamang tubig. Nasiyahan ang Dios sa nakita niya.

11Pagkatapos, sinabi ng Dios, “Magsitubo sa lupa ang lahat ng uri ng halaman, ang mga tanim na nagbubunga ng butil, at ang mga punongkahoy na namumunga ayon sa kani-kanilang uri.” At iyon nga ang nangyari. 12Tumubo sa lupa ang lahat ng uri ng halaman, ang mga tanim na nagbubunga ng butil, at ang mga punongkahoy na namumunga ayon sa kani-kanilang uri. Nasiyahan ang Dios sa nakita niya. 13Lumipas ang gabi at dumating ang umaga. Iyon ang ikatlong araw.

14Pagkatapos, sinabi ng Dios, “Magkaroon ng mga ilaw sa kalangitan para ihiwalay ang araw sa gabi, at magsilbing palatandaan ng pagsisimula ng mga panahon,1:14 mga panahon: Ang mga panahon ng kapistahan, pagtatanim, pag-aani, at iba pang mahahalagang araw. araw at taon. 15Magningning ang mga ito sa kalangitan para magbigay-liwanag sa mundo.” At iyon nga ang nangyari. 16Nilikha ng Dios ang dalawang malaking ilaw: ang pinakamalaki ay magliliwanag kung araw, at ang mas malaki ay magliliwanag kung gabi. Nilikha rin niya ang mga bituin. 17-18Inilagay ng Dios ang mga ito sa kalangitan para magbigay-liwanag sa mundo kung araw at gabi, at para ihiwalay ang liwanag sa dilim. At nasiyahan ang Dios sa nakita niya. 19Lumipas ang gabi at dumating ang umaga. Iyon ang ikaapat na araw.

20Pagkatapos, sinabi ng Dios, “Magkaroon ng ibaʼt ibang hayop sa tubig at magsilipad ang ibaʼt ibang hayop1:20 ibaʼt ibang hayop: Ang salitang Hebreo nito ay nangangahulugang ibon, mga insektong lumilipad, at ng iba pang uri ng mga hayop na lumilipad. sa himpapawid.” 21Kaya nilikha ng Dios ang malalaking hayop sa dagat, at ang lahat ng uri ng hayop na nakatira sa tubig, at ang lahat ng uri ng hayop na lumilipad. Nasiyahan ang Dios sa nakita niya. 22At binasbasan niya ang mga ito. Sinabi niya, “Magpakarami kayo, kayong mga hayop sa tubig at mga hayop na lumilipad.” 23Lumipas ang gabi at dumating ang umaga. Iyon ang ikalimang araw.

24Pagkatapos, sinabi ng Dios, “Magkaroon ng ibaʼt ibang uri ng hayop sa lupa: mga hayop na maamo at mailap, malalaki at maliliit.” At iyon nga ang nangyari. 25Nilikha ng Dios ang lahat ng ito at nasiyahan siya sa nakita niya.

26Pagkatapos, sinabi ng Dios, “Likhain natin ang tao ayon sa ating wangis. Sila ang mamamahala sa lahat ng uri ng hayop: mga lumalangoy, lumilipad, lumalakad at gumagapang.” 27Kaya nilikha ng Dios ang tao, lalaki at babae ayon sa wangis niya. 28Binasbasan niya sila at sinabi, “Magpakarami kayo para mangalat ang mga lahi ninyo at mamahala sa buong mundo. At pamahalaan ninyo ang lahat ng hayop.”

29Pagkatapos, sinabi ng Dios, “Ibinibigay ko sa inyo ang mga tanim na namumunga ng butil pati ang mga punongkahoy na namumunga para inyong kainin. 30At ibinibigay ko sa lahat ng hayop ang lahat ng luntiang halaman bilang pagkain nila.” At iyon nga ang nangyari. 31Pinagmasdan ng Dios ang lahat niyang nilikha at lubos siyang nasiyahan. Lumipas ang gabi at dumating ang umaga. Iyon ang ikaanim na araw.
