1And he made the altar of burnt offering of shittim wood: five cubits was the length thereof, and five cubits the breadth thereof; it was foursquare; and three cubits the height thereof. 2And he made the horns thereof on the four corners of it; the horns thereof were of the same: and he overlaid it with brass. 3And he made all the vessels of the altar, the pots, and the shovels, and the basons, and the fleshhooks, and the firepans: all the vessels thereof made he of brass. 4And he made for the altar a brasen grate of network under the compass thereof beneath unto the midst of it. 5And he cast four rings for the four ends of the grate of brass, to be places for the staves. 6And he made the staves of shittim wood, and overlaid them with brass. 7And he put the staves into the rings on the sides of the altar, to bear it withal; he made the altar hollow with boards.

9¶ And he made the court: on the south side southward the hangings of the court were of fine twined linen, an hundred cubits: 10Their pillars were twenty, and their brasen sockets twenty; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver. 11And for the north side the hangings were an hundred cubits, their pillars were twenty, and their sockets of brass twenty; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver. 12And for the west side were hangings of fifty cubits, their pillars ten, and their sockets ten; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver. 13And for the east side eastward fifty cubits. 14The hangings of the one side of the gate were fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three. 15And for the other side of the court gate, on this hand and that hand, were hangings of fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three. 16All the hangings of the court round about were of fine twined linen. 17And the sockets for the pillars were of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver; and the overlaying of their chapiters of silver; and all the pillars of the court were filleted with silver. 18And the hanging for the gate of the court was needlework, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: and twenty cubits was the length, and the height in the breadth was five cubits, answerable to the hangings of the court. 19And their pillars were four, and their sockets of brass four; their hooks of silver, and the overlaying of their chapiters and their fillets of silver. 20And all the pins of the tabernacle, and of the court round about, were of brass.
21¶ This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest. 22And Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the LORD commanded Moses. 23And with him was Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen. 24All the gold that was occupied for the work in all the work of the holy place, even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents, and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 25And the silver of them that were numbered of the congregation was an hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary: 26A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.38.26 every man: Heb. a poll 27And of the hundred talents of silver were cast the sockets of the sanctuary, and the sockets of the vail; an hundred sockets of the hundred talents, a talent for a socket. 28And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels he made hooks for the pillars, and overlaid their chapiters, and filleted them. 29And the brass of the offering was seventy talents, and two thousand and four hundred shekels. 30And therewith he made the sockets to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the brasen altar, and the brasen grate for it, and all the vessels of the altar, 31And the sockets of the court round about, and the sockets of the court gate, and all the pins of the tabernacle, and all the pins of the court round about.
L’autel des holocaustes et ses accessoires38.1 titre Pour les v. 1-7, voir 27.1-8. En hébreu, les mesures sont en coudées (une coudée = 50 cm).
1Betsaléel fit l’autel des holocaustes en bois d’acacia, carré, de deux mètres cinquante de côté, et d’un mètre cinquante de hauteur. 2A ses quatre angles, il fit quatre cornes en saillie de l’autel, et il le plaqua de bronze. 3Il fabriqua aussi en bronze tous les ustensiles de l’autel : les récipients destinés à recueillir les cendres, les pelles, les bassines, les fourchettes et les brasiers. 4Il munit l’autel d’une grille faite d’un treillis de bronze et la plaça sous la bordure de l’autel, depuis le bas jusqu’à mi-hauteur. 5Il fondit quatre anneaux qu’il fixa aux quatre coins de la grille de bronze pour recevoir les barres. 6Il fit des barres en bois d’acacia et les recouvrit de bronze. 7Il introduisit dans les anneaux sur les côtés de l’autel les barres qui devaient servir à le transporter ; il le fit avec des panneaux et l’autel était creux à l’intérieur.

9Après cela, il fabriqua le parvis. Du côté sud, sur une longueur de cinquante mètres, il était délimité par des tentures de lin retors. 10Elles étaient soutenues par vingt piliers, reposant sur vingt socles de bronze et munis de crochets et de tringles en argent. 11Du côté nord, il y avait également cinquante mètres de tentures soutenues par vingt piliers reposant sur vingt socles de bronze et munis de crochets et de tringles en argent. 12A l’ouest, vingt-cinq mètres de tentures, soutenues par dix piliers reposant sur dix socles et munis de crochets et de tringles en argent. 13Du côté est, le parvis avait aussi vingt-cinq mètres de largeur. 14-15De chaque côté de la porte, sur sept mètres cinquante, il fit des tentures soutenues par trois piliers reposant sur leurs trois socles. 16Toutes les tentures formant l’enceinte du parvis étaient en fin lin retors. 17Les socles des piliers étaient de bronze, mais leurs crochets et les tringles qui les reliaient étaient en argent ainsi que leurs chapiteaux. Toutes les colonnes du parvis étaient équipées de tringles d’argent. 18Le rideau de la porte du parvis était un ouvrage brodé en fils de pourpre violette et écarlate, de rouge éclatant et de fin lin retors ; il avait dix mètres de long et deux mètres cinquante de haut comme les tentures du parvis. 19Ses quatre piliers et leurs quatre socles étaient en bronze, leurs crochets et leurs tringles en argent, et leurs chapiteaux étaient revêtus d’argent. 20Tous les piquets du tabernacle et ceux du parvis étaient faits de bronze.

21Voici les comptes du tabernacle, de la Demeure de l’acte de l’alliance, établis sur l’ordre de Moïse, par les soins des lévites, sous la direction d’Itamar, fils du prêtre Aaron. 22Betsaléel, fils d’Ouri, descendant de Hour, de la tribu de Juda, fit tout ce que l’Eternel avait ordonné à Moïse, 23assisté par Oholiab, fils d’Ahisamak de la tribu de Dan qui était sculpteur, concepteur et brodeur en pourpre violette et écarlate, en rouge éclatant et en fin lin.
24Quantité d’or utilisée pour la construction et tous les ouvrages du sanctuaire, or qui avait été présenté à l’Eternel : 1 000 kilogrammes, pesé selon l’unité de poids (le sicle) en vigueur au sanctuaire. 25L’argent apporté par les membres de la communauté dont on fit le recensement pesait 3 440 kilogrammes, selon l’unité de poids en vigueur au sanctuaire, 26ce qui représentait une demi-unité de poids, soit 5,7 grammes par tête pour tous les hommes de vingt ans et au-dessus qui furent recensés, c’est-à-dire 603 550 hommes38.26 Pour les v. 25-26, voir 30.11-16.. 273 420 kilogrammes furent utilisés pour les cent socles du sanctuaire et ceux du voile, soit 34,20 kilogrammes par socle. 28Les 20 kilogrammes restants furent utilisés pour les crochets et les tringles reliant les piliers, ainsi que pour le revêtement des chapiteaux. 29Le peuple avait présenté à l’Eternel 2 421 kilogrammes de bronze. 30On en fit les socles de l’entrée de la tente de la Rencontre et l’autel de bronze avec sa grille et tous ses ustensiles, 31les socles du parvis tout autour, ceux de l’entrée du parvis et tous les piquets du tabernacle et du parvis.
