17¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 18Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein. 19For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat: 20When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD: 21So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.
22¶ Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 23Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, 24And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: 25And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil.30.25 apothecary: or, perfumer 26And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony, 27And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense, 28And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot. 29And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy. 30And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office. 31And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations. 32Upon man’s flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you. 33Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.
34¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight: 35And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy:30.35 tempered…: Heb. salted 36And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy. 37And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD. 38Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.
Instrucțiuni privind altarul tămâierii
(Ex. 37:25-28)

Să fie în formă de pătrat. Înălțimea lui să fie de doi coți2 Aproximativ 1 m., iar coarnele lui să fie dintr‑o bucată cu el. 3Să poleiești cu aur curat atât partea superioară și părțile laterale ale altarului, cât și coarnele lui. Să‑i faci un chenar de aur de jur împrejur 4și două inele de aur pe care să le fixezi sub chenar, pe ambele părți. Ele vor ține drugii cu care trebuie transportat. 5Să faci drugii din lemn de salcâm și să‑i poleiești cu aur. 6Să așezi altarul în fața draperiei care este înaintea Chivotului Mărturiei – în fața Capacului Ispășirii care este deasupra Mărturiei – unde mă voi întâlni cu tine.
7Aaron să ardă tămâie mirositoare pe el în fiecare dimineață când pregătește candelele. 8De asemenea, să ardă tămâie pe el și între cele două seri8 Vezi nota de la 12:6., când Aaron va aprinde candelele. Astfel, va fi tot timpul tămâie din partea voastră înaintea Domnului, de‑a lungul generațiilor voastre. 9Să nu aduceți tămâie străină pe el, nici ardere‑de‑tot, nici dar de mâncare și să nu turnați nicio jertfă de băutură pe el. 10Doar o dată pe an, Aaron va face ispășire pe coarnele altarului. Această ispășire anuală va trebui făcută cu sângele jertfei pentru ispășirea păcatului. De asemenea, ea va trebui făcută de‑a lungul generațiilor voastre. Acesta este un lucru preasfânt înaintea Domnului.“
Instrucțiuni privind prețul răscumpărării
11Domnul i‑a vorbit lui Moise, zicând: 12„Când vei face numărătoarea fiilor lui Israel, fiecare va trebui să plătească Domnului, atunci când va fi numărat, un preț de răscumpărare pentru viața lui, pentru ca atunci când vei face numărătoarea nicio urgie să nu vină peste ei. 13Fiecare dintre cei ce sunt numărați să dea o jumătate de șechel13, 15 Vezi nota de la 21:32; aproximativ 5 gr., după șechelul Lăcașului (un șechel este douăzeci de ghere). Această jumătate de șechel va fi o contribuție pentru Domnul. 14Fiecare dintre cei numărați, de la vârsta de douăzeci de ani în sus, va oferi o contribuție Domnului. 15Când veți oferi Domnului contribuția ca să faceți ispășire pentru sufletelor voastre, cel bogat să nu dea mai mult, iar cel sărac să nu dea mai puțin de jumătate de șechel. 16Să primești de la fiii lui Israel argintul pentru ispășire și să‑l folosești pentru slujirea din Cortul Întâlnirii. Aceasta va fi pentru fiii lui Israel o aducere-aminte înaintea Domnului a prețului de răscumpărare pentru sufletele lor.“
Instrucțiuni privind vasul pentru spălare
17După aceea, Domnul i‑a vorbit lui Moise, zicând: 18„Să faci un lighean din bronz pentru spălat, al cărui piedestal să fie făcut tot din bronz. Să‑l așezi între Cortul Întâlnirii și altar și să pui apă în el. 19Aaron și fiii lui să‑și spele mâinile și picioarele cu apa din el. 20Când vor intra în Cortul Întâlnirii sau când se vor apropia de altar ca să slujească și să aducă Domnului jertfe mistuite de foc, se vor spăla cu apa aceasta ca să nu moară. 21Își vor spăla mâinile și picioarele ca să nu moară. Aceasta să fie o hotărâre veșnică pentru Aaron și sămânța lui de‑a lungul generațiilor lor.“
Instrucțiuni privind untdelemnul pentru ungere și tămâia sacră
22Domnul i‑a vorbit lui Moise, zicând: 23„Ia cele mai fine mirodenii: cinci sute de șecheli23 Vezi nota de la 21:32; aproximativ 5 kg. de smirnă lichidă, apoi ia jumătate de cantitate, adică două sute cincizeci de șecheli de scorțișoară mirositoare, două sute cincizeci de șecheli de trestie mirositoare, 24cinci sute de șecheli de casia măsurați după șechelul Lăcașului și un hin24 Vezi nota de la 29:40. de ulei de măsline. 25Să faci din acestea un untdelemn pentru ungerea sfântă, un amestec preparat după cum se face parfumul. Acesta va fi untdelemnul pentru ungerea sfântă. 26Cu el să ungi Cortul Întâlnirii, Chivotul Mărturiei, 27masa și obiectele ei, sfeșnicul și obiectele lui, altarul tămâierii, 28altarul arderilor‑de‑tot cu toate uneltele lui și ligheanul cu piedestalul său. 29Să sfințești29 Vezi nota de la 13:2. aceste lucruri ca ele să fie preasfinte. Orice lucru care se va atinge de ele va fi sfânt29 Sau: trebuie să fie sfânt. Textul nu sugerează ideea că un obiect sfânt sfințește un obiect necurat prin atingere, ci condiția ca un lucru adus în proximitatea obiectelor sfinte să fi fost în prealabil consacrat sau sfințit. Doar prezența lui Dumnezeu poate sfinți un loc (v. 43). Prin atingere se transmite doar necurăția, nu și sfințenia (Hag. 2:12-14). Vezi și nota de la Ex. 13:2..
30Să‑i ungi pe Aaron și pe fiii săi și să‑i sfințești, pentru a‑Mi sluji ca preoți. 31Iar fiilor lui Israel să le spui: «Acesta va fi untdelemnul Meu pentru ungerea sfântă, de‑a lungul generațiilor voastre. 32Să nu fie turnat pe trupul vreunui om și să nu faceți altul ca el, după același mod de preparare. El este sfânt, deci să fie sfânt și pentru voi. 33Oricine va face un untdelemn ca acesta și oricine va unge cu el pe cineva care nu este preot, să fie nimicit din poporul său.»“
34Domnul i‑a zis lui Moise: „Ia niște mirodenii plăcut mirositoare, precum stactele, onicele și galbanul. Combină câte o parte din fiecare mirodenie cu tămâie curată 35și prepară un amestec de tămâie, la fel cum se face parfumul: să fie sărată, curată și sfântă. 36O parte din ea s‑o pisezi mărunt și s‑o pui înaintea Mărturiei, în Cortul Întâlnirii unde mă voi întâlni cu tine. Ea să fie preasfântă pentru voi. 37Când vei face tămâie după acest mod de preparare, să n‑o faci pentru voi înșivă, ci s‑o privești ca sfântă pentru Domnul. 38Oricine va face tămâie ca aceasta pentru a o folosi ca parfum, să fie nimicit din poporul său.“
