9¶ Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.3.9 oppressed: or, oppressions 10For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.3.10 robbery: or, spoil 11Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled. 12Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.3.12 taketh: Heb. delivereth3.12 in Damascus…: or, on the bed’s feet 13Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts, 14That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Beth-el: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.3.14 visit: or, punish Israel for 15And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.
Vina și pedeapsa Israelului
1„Fii ai lui Israel, ascultați acum acest cuvânt pe care l‑a rostit Domnul împotriva voastră, împotriva întregului clan pe care Eu l‑am scos din țara Egiptului:
2Numai pe voi vă recunosc
dintre toate familiile pământului.
De aceea vă voi și pedepsi
pentru toate nelegiuirile voastre.“
3Merg oare doi oameni împreună,
dacă nu s‑au înțeles la aceasta?
4Oare răcnește leul în pădure
când nu are pradă?
Oare se aude glasul leului tânăr din vizuina lui,
dacă nu a prins ceva?
5Oare cade pasărea în cursa de pe pământ,
dacă nu i s‑a întins un laț?
Se ridică oare lațul de la pământ
fără să se fi prins ceva în el?
6Dacă sună trâmbița6 Vezi nota de la 2:2. în cetate,
oare nu se înspăimântă poporul?
Dacă vine o nenorocire în cetate,
oare nu Domnul a dat‑o?
7Căci Stăpânul Domn nu face nimic
fără să‑Și descopere hotărârea robilor Săi, profeții.
8Leul a răcnit –
cine nu se va teme?
Stăpânul Domn a vorbit –
cine ar putea să nu profețească?
9Proclamați în fortărețele Așdodului
și în fortărețele țării Egiptului, și spuneți:
„Adunați‑vă pe munții Samariei
și uitați‑vă la numeroasele tulburări din mijlocul ei
și la asuprirea care este în ea!“
10„Nu știu să facă dreptate,“ zice Domnul,
„ei, care strâng în fortărețele lor
violență și jaf.“
11De aceea, așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn:
„Un vrăjmaș va înconjura țara,
îți va doborî puterea,
iar fortărețele tale vor fi jefuite!“
12Așa vorbește Domnul:
„Așa cum păstorul scapă din gura leului
două picioare sau o bucată de ureche,
tot așa vor fi izbăviți și fiii lui Israel,
cei ce locuiesc în Samaria pe un colț de pat
și pe marginea canapelei.12 Sau: și pe canapea de Damasc.
13Ascultați și mărturisiți împotriva Casei lui Iacov,“ zice Stăpânul Domn, Dumnezeul Oștirilor13 Ebr.: YHWH Țebaot. Termenul ebraic pentru oștiri se poate referi: (1) la oștirile lui Israel (Ex. 7:4; Ps. 44:9); (2) la corpurile cerești (Gen. 2:1; Deut. 4:19; Is. 40:26); (3) la îngeri (Ios. 5:14; 1 Regi 22:19; Ps. 148:2). 14„În ziua când îl voi pedepsi pe Israel pentru fărădelegile lui,
voi aduce pedeapsa și asupra altarelor din Betel;
coarnele altarului vor fi retezate
și vor cădea la pământ.
15Voi doborî reședința de iarnă
și reședința de vară.
Palatele împodobite cu fildeș vor fi distruse,
iar casele cele mari vor fi spulberate,“ zice Domnul.
