1Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. 2And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’s house. 3And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
4¶ Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD. 5And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God. 6And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.7.6 by their…: Heb. by their hand 7Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.
8¶ Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt. 9And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.7.9 a solemn…: Heb. a restraint 10And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people. 11Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king’s house: and all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.
12¶ And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. 13If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.7.14 which…: Heb. upon whom my name is called 15Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.7.15 unto…: Heb. to the prayer of this place 16For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 17And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments; 18Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.7.18 There…: Heb. There shall not be cut off to thee 19But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; 20Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations. 21And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house? 22And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
Ang Pagdedikar sa Templo
(1 Hari 8:62-66)
1Pagkahuman ni Solomon ug ampo, may kalayo nga mikunsad gikan sa langit ug milamoy sa halad nga sinunog ug sa uban pang mga halad, ug ang gamhanang presensya sa Ginoo milukop sa templo. 2Dili makasulod ang mga pari sa templo sa Ginoo tungod kay ang gamhanang presensya sa Ginoo milukop sa templo. 3Sa dihang nakita sa tanang mga Israelinhon ang kalayo nga mikunsad ug ang gamhanang presensya sa Ginoo ibabaw sa templo, mihapa sila ug misimba ug nagpasalamat sa Ginoo kay maayo siya ug ang iyang gugma nagapadayon hangtod sa kahangtoran.
4Unya naghalad si Haring Solomon ug ang tanang katawhan ngadto sa Ginoo. 5Naghalad si Haring Solomon ug 22,000 ka baka ug 120,000 ka karnero ug kanding. Niining paagiha, gidedikar sa hari ug sa mga katawhan ang templo sa Dios. 6Mibarog sa ilang mga pwesto didto sa templo ang mga pari, ug ingon usab ang mga Levita nga nanag-awit, “Ang iyang gugma walay kataposan.” Giduyogan nila kini sa mga instrumento nga gipahimo ni Haring David alang sa pagdayeg sa Ginoo. Atbang sa mga Levita, mipatingog usab ang mga pari sa ilang mga trumpeta samtang nanindog ang tanang mga Israelinhon.
7Gigahin ni Solomon ang hawanan nga anaa sa atubangan sa templo sa Ginoo. Naghalad sila ni Solomon didto ug mga halad nga sinunog, mga halad sa pagpasidungog sa Ginoo, ug mga tambok nga halad alang sa maayong relasyon, kay ang bronsi nga halaran nga iyang gipahimo gamay ra alang niini nga mga halad.
8Gisaulog usab ni Solomon ug sa tanang mga Israelinhon ang Pista sa Pagpatindog sa mga Payag sulod sa pito ka adlaw. Daghan kaayong mga katawhan ang nagtigom gikan sa Lebo Hamat sa amihan hangtod sa Yuta sa Ehipto sa habagatan. 9Sa ikawalo nga adlaw, naghimo sila sa kataposang panagtigom, tungod kay sulod sa pito ka adlaw gisaulog nila ang pagdedikar sa halaran ug sa tibuok templo, ug sa laing pito ka adlaw gisaulog nila ang Pista sa Pagpatindog sa mga Payag. 10Pagkasunod nga adlaw, nga mao ang ika-23 nga adlaw sa ikapito nga bulan, gipapauli ni Solomon ang mga tawo. Namauli sila nga labihan kamalipayon tungod sa tanang kaayo nga gihimo sa Ginoo kang David ug kang Solomon, ug sa iyang katawhan nga mga Israelinhon.
Nagpakita ang Dios kang Solomon
(1 Hari 9:1-9)
11Nahuman ra gayod ni Solomon ang pagpatukod sa templo sa Ginoo ug sa iyang palasyo. Nagmalampuson siya sa pagtuman sa tanan niyang giplano alang niini. 12Unya usa ka gabii, nagpakita ang Ginoo kaniya pinaagi sa damgo ug miingon, “Nadungog ko ang imong pag-ampo ug gipili ko kini nga templo ingon nga dapit nga halaran sa mga halad.
13“Kon pananglit dili ko paulanon, o ipakaon ko sa mga dulon ang mga tanom sa inyong yuta, o padad-an ko ang akong katawhan ug katalagman, 14ug unya magpaubos sa ilang kaugalingon ang katawhan nga akong gipili, mag-ampo, modangop kanako, ug mobiya sa ilang daotang mga binuhatan, mamati ako sa langit ug pasayloon ko ang ilang sala, ug unya panalanginan ko pag-usab ang ilang yuta. 15Hatagan ko silag pagtagad ug pamation ko ang mga pag-ampo nga ilang gihimo dinhi niining dapita, 16kay kini nga templo akong gipili ug gilain ingon nga usa ka dapit diin pasidunggan ako hangtod sa kahangtoran. Bantayan ko kini ug atimanon kanunay.
17“Ug ikaw, kon magkinabuhi ka nga matinumanon kanako sama sa gibuhat sa imong amahan nga si David, ug kon buhaton mo ang tanan nga gipahimo ko kanimo ug tumanon ang akong mga tulumanon ug mga lagda, 18padayon nga maghari ang imong mga kaliwat hangtod sa kahangtoran. Mao usab kini ang akong gisaad sa imong amahan nga si David sa dihang giingnan ko siya, ‘Dili ka mawad-an ug kaliwat nga magahari sa Israel.’ 19Apan kon motalikod kamo ug dili motuman sa mga sugo ug mga tulumanon nga gihatag ko kaninyo, ug kon moalagad ug mosimba kamo sa ubang mga dios, 20papahawaon ko kamo sa yuta nga gihatag ko kaninyo, ug isalikway ko kining templo nga gipili ko ingon nga dapit diin pasidunggan ako. Unya himuon kining panig-ingnan sa kaalaotan ug bugalbugalan kini sa tanang mga tawo. 21Ug bisag gibantog kini nga templo, gub-on ko kini. Makurat ug matingala gayod ang tanan nga molabay dinhi ug moingon, ‘Nganong gihimo man kini sa Ginoo niining yutaa ug niini nga templo?’ 22Motubag ang uban, ‘Tungod kay gisalikway nila ang Ginoo, ang Dios sa ilang mga katigulangan nga nagpagawas kanila gikan sa Ehipto, ug mialagad sila ug misimba sa ubang mga dios. Mao kana nga gipadad-an sila sa Ginoo niini nga mga katalagman.’ ”
