1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem: 2But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
3¶ For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.33.3 he built…: Heb. he returned and built 4Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever. 5And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. 6And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. 7And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever: 8Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses. 9So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel. 10And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
11¶ Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.33.11 of the king: Heb. which were the king’s33.11 fetters: or, chains 12And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, 13And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God. 14Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.33.14 Ophel: or, the tower 15And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city. 16And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel. 17Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the LORD their God only.
18¶ Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel. 19His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.33.19 the seers: or, Hosai
20¶ So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
21¶ Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem. 22But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them; 23And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.33.23 trespassed more and more: Heb. multiplied trespass 24And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
25¶ But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
Ang Paghari ni Manase sa Juda
(2 Hari 21:1-18)
1Nagaedad si Manase ug 12 ka tuig sa dihang nahimo siyang hari. Sa Jerusalem siya nagpuyo, ug naghari siya sulod sa 55 ka tuig. 2Daotan ang iyang gihimo atubangan sa Ginoo. Misunod siya sa mangil-ad nga mga buhat sa mga nasod nga gipaabog sa Ginoo sa mga Israelinhon. 3Gipatukod niya pag-usab ang mga simbahanan diha sa habog nga mga dapit nga gipaguba kaniadto sa iyang amahan nga si Hezekia. Nagpahimo usab siyag mga halaran alang sa mga imahen ni Baal ug mga poste nga simbolo sa diosa nga si Ashera. Mialagad siya ug misimba sa tanang butang nga anaa sa kalangitan. 4Nagpahimo pa siyag mga halaran sa templo sa Ginoo sa Jerusalem, nga sumala sa Ginoo mao ang dapit diin pasidunggan siya hangtod sa kahangtoran. 5Nagpahimo usab siya ug mga halaran sa duha ka hawanan sa templo sa Ginoo alang sa pagsimba sa tanang butang nga anaa sa kalangitan. 6Gihalad niya ang iyang mga anak sa kalayo didto sa Kapatagan sa Ben Hinom. Gibuhat usab niya ang mga buluhaton sa mga babaylan, manalagna, mamarang ug mga espiritista. Labihan gayod ang iyang pagpakasala atubangan sa Ginoo, ug nakapasuko kini sa Ginoo.
7Gibutang pa niya ang rebulto nga iyang gipahimo didto sa templo, nga giingon sa Ginoo ngadto kang David ug sa iyang anak nga si Solomon, “Pasidunggan ako sa walay kataposan dinhi niini nga templo ug sa Jerusalem, ang dapit nga akong gipili gikan sa tanang tribo sa Israel. 8Dili ko papahawaon ang katawhan sa Israel gikan niining yuta nga gihatag ko sa ilang mga katigulangan kon tumanon nila ang tanang mga kasugoan, tulumanon, ug lagda nga gihatag ko kanila pinaagi kang Moises.” 9Apan giaghat ni Manase ang katawhan sa Jerusalem ug sa ubang bahin sa Juda sa paghimog daotan, ug ang ilang gihimo labaw pa kadaotan kaysa gihimo sa mga nasod nga gipanglaglag sa Ginoo sa mga Israelinhon.
10Gipahimangnoan sa Ginoo si Manase ug ang iyang katawhan, apan wala sila mamati kaniya. 11Busa gipasulong sa Ginoo ang mga komander sa kasundalohan sa Asiria ngadto kanila. Gibihag nila si Manase, gikaw-itan ang iyang ilong, gikadenahan ug bronsi, ug gidala sa Babilonia. 12Sa diha na siya sa kalisod, nagpaubos gayod siya sa iyang kaugalingon ug nagpakilooy sa Ginoo nga iyang Dios, nga Dios usab sa iyang mga katigulangan. 13Ug sa dihang nagaampo siya, gipamatian siya sa Ginoo. Natandog ang Ginoo sa iyang pagpakilooy. Busa gipabalik siya sa Ginoo didto sa Jerusalem ug sa iyang gingharian. Ug nakaamgo si Manase nga ang Ginoo mao lang ang Dios.
14Human niadto, gipatukod pag-usab ni Manase ang gawas nga paril sa Lungsod ni David, gikan sa kasadpang bahin sa yuta sa Gihon ngadto sa pultahan nga gitawag ug Isda,33:14 pultahan nga gitawag ug Isda: Tingali dinhi ginapaagi ang mga isda nga ginadala ngadto sa siyudad. ug libot sa bungtod sa Ofel, diin gihimo niyang mas habog ang paril. Unya nagbutang siyag mga komander sa tanang pinarilan nga mga lungsod sa Juda. 15Gipakuha niya gikan sa templo sa Ginoo ang mga dios sa taga-laing nasod ug ang mga rebulto. Gipakuha usab niya ang mga halaran sa bungtod nga gitukoran sa templo ug ang mga halaran sa ubang bahin sa Jerusalem, ug gipanglabay kini sa gawas sa siyudad. 16Unya gipaayo niya ang halaran alang sa Ginoo, ug gihalaran ug mga halad alang sa maayong relasyon, ug mga halad sa pagpasalamat. Gimandoan niya ang mga lumulupyo sa Juda nga mag-alagad sa Ginoo, ang Dios sa Israel. 17Naghalad gihapon ang mga tawo didto sa mga simbahanan diha sa habog nga mga dapit, apan gihalad na nila kini ngadto sa Ginoo nga ilang Dios.
18Ang uban pang sugilanon mahitungod sa paghari ni Manase, apil ang iyang pag-ampo ngadto sa Dios ug ang gipanulti sa mga propeta kaniya sa ngalan sa Ginoo, ang Dios sa Israel, nahisulat sa libro sa mga sugilanon bahin sa mga hari sa Israel. 19Ang pag-ampo ni Manase ug ang tubag sa Ginoo kaniya, apil na ang tanan niyang sala ug pagsupak sa Ginoo, nahisulat sa Libro sa mga Propeta. Nalista usab didto ang mga dapit nga gipatukoran niyag mga simbahan, mga poste nga simbolo sa diosa nga si Ashera, ug sa uban pa nga mga dios-dios, sa panahon nga wala pa siya magpaubos sa iyang kaugalingon ngadto sa Dios. 20Sa pagkamatay ni Manase, gilubong siya didto sa iyang palasyo. Ug si Amon nga iyang anak mao ang mipuli kaniya ingon nga hari.
Ang Paghari ni Amon sa Juda
(2 Hari 21:19-26)
21Nagaedad si Amon ug 22 ka tuig sa dihang nahimo siyang hari. Sa Jerusalem siya nagpuyo, ug naghari siya sulod sa duha ka tuig. 22Daotan ang gihimo ni Amon atubangan sa Ginoo, sama sa gihimo kaniadto ni Manase nga iyang amahan. Gisimba ug gihalaran niya ang mga dios-dios nga gipahimo ni Manase kaniadto. 23Ug sukwahi sa iyang amahan, wala siya magpaubos sa iyang kaugalingon atubangan sa Ginoo. Nagsige hinuon siyag pakasala.
24Miabot ang panahon nga nagplano ug daotan ang mga opisyal ni Amon batok kaniya, ug gipatay nila siya didto sa iyang palasyo. 25Apan gipamatay sa katawhan sa Juda ang tanan nga mipatay kang Haring Amon, ug gipuli nila si Josia nga iyang anak ingon nga hari.
