11¶ And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying, 12Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father: 13And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel. 14So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
15And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.6.15 both…: or, from the floor of the house unto the walls, etc 16And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place. 17And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long. 18And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.6.18 knops: or, gourds6.18 open: Heb. openings of 19And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD. 20And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.6.20 pure: Heb. shut up 21So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold. 22And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

36¶ And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.
37¶ In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif: 38And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. Вокруг храма снаружи он сделал на стене выступы, чтобы поддерживающие брусья не входили в храмовые стены.
7В строительстве храма использовали только те камни, что были обтёсаны на каменоломне, и ни молотка, ни тесла, ни какого другого железного орудия не было слышно на месте строительства храма.
8Вход на первый этаж находился на южной стороне храма. Лестница вела на второй этаж, а оттуда – на третий. 9Так Сулейман построил храм и завершил его, использовав при постройке крыши брусья и кедровые доски. 10Вдоль всего храма он построил боковые комнаты. Высотой каждая из них была два с половиной метра6:10 Букв.: «пять локтей».. Они присоединялись к храму кедровыми брусьями.
11И вот к Сулейману было слово Вечного:
12– Что до этого храма, который ты строишь, то, если ты будешь следовать Моим установлениям, соблюдать Мои законы и хранить все Мои повеления и выполнять их, Я исполню через тебя обещание, которое Я дал твоему отцу Давуду. 13Я буду жить среди исраильтян и не покину Мой народ, Исраил.
14Так Сулейман завершил строительство храма.
Внутренняя отделка храма

15Он обшил стены с внутренней стороны кедровыми досками, забрав их от пола храма до потолка, и покрыл пол храма кипарисовыми досками. 16Он отгородил в глубине храма стеной десять метров6:16 Букв.: «двадцать локтей». и обложил её кедровыми досками от пола до потолка, чтобы сделать в храме внутреннее святилище, Святая Святых. 17Комната перед Святая Святых была длиной двадцать метров6:17 Букв.: «сорок локтей».. 18Внутри храм был обшит кедровым деревом, на котором были вырезаны подобия тыкв и распустившиеся цветы. Всё было сделано из кедра, камня нигде не было видно.
19Он приготовил внутреннее святилище в храме, чтобы поместить там сундук соглашения с Вечным. 20Внутреннее святилище было по десять метров6:20 Букв.: «двадцать локтей». в длину, ширину и высоту. Он покрыл его чистым золотом и обшил жертвенник, находящийся перед Святая Святых, кедром. 21Сулейман покрыл храм внутри чистым золотом и перетянул золотыми цепями вход во внутреннее святилище, которое было покрыто золотом. 22Он покрыл золотом весь храм до конца и жертвенник, который принадлежал к внутреннему святилищу.
23Во внутреннем святилище он сделал двух херувимов6:23 Херувим – один из высших ангельских чинов. См. также пояснительный словарь. из масличного дерева, каждого в пять метров6:23 Букв.: «десять локтей», также в ст. 25 и 26. высотой. 24Одно крыло первого херувима было два с половиной метра, и другое крыло этой же длины. Всего – пять метров6:24 Букв.: «пять… десять локтей». от конца одного крыла до конца другого. 25Второй херувим также был пяти метров, так как оба херувима были одного размера и вида. 26Высота каждого херувима была пять метров. 27Сулейман поставил херувимов с распростёртыми крыльями во внутреннюю часть храма. Крыло одного херувима касалось одной стены, крыло второго – противоположной стены, а другие крылья херувимов соприкасались друг с другом посередине комнаты. 28Он покрыл херувимов золотом.
29На стенах вокруг всего храма, и внутри, и снаружи, Сулейман вырезал херувимов, пальмы и распустившиеся цветы. 30Ещё он покрыл пол, и внутри, и снаружи храма, золотом.
31Для входа во внутреннее святилище он сделал двери из масличного дерева с пятиугольными косяками. 32А на двух дверях из масличного дерева он вырезал херувимов, пальмы и распустившиеся цветы и покрыл их золотом. 33Точно так же он сделал из масличного дерева четырёхугольные косяки для входа в храм. 34Ещё Сулейман сделал две двери из кипарисового дерева, каждую с двумя подвижными створками. 35Он вырезал на них херувимов, пальмы и распустившиеся цветы и покрыл их золотом, ровно наложенным на резьбу.
36Он построил внутренний двор из трёх рядов обтёсанного камня и ряда кедровых балок.
37Основание храма Вечного было заложено на четвёртом году царствования Сулеймана, в месяце зиве (в середине весны). 38На одиннадцатом году его правления, в месяце буле (в середине осени), – а это восьмой месяц, – храм был завершён в соответствии со всеми замыслами о нём. Сулейман строил его семь лет.
