22¶ And the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen thyself, and mark, and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against thee. 23And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. 24And do this thing, Take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their rooms: 25And number thee an army, like the army that thou hast lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. 28¶ And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 29And they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day. 30But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and there a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left. 31¶ And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life. 32So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Ben-hadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother. 33Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Ben-hadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Ben-hadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot. 34And Ben-hadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from thy father, I will restore; and thou shalt make streets for thee in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria. 35¶ And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him. 37Then he found another man, and said, Smite me, I pray thee. 7Gipatawag sa hari sa Israel ang tanang tigdumala sa Israel ug giingnan, “Nangita gayod ug samok kini si Ben Hadad. Misugot na gani ako sa dihang gipangayo niya ang akong mga asawa, mga anak, mga pilak, ug mga bulawan.” 8Mitubag ang mga tigdumala ug ang mga katawhan, “Ayaw na pagsugot sa iyang gipangayo.” 9Busa giingnan niya ang mga mensahero ni Ben Hadad, “Ingna ninyo ang mahal nga hari nga ihatag ko ang iyang unang gipangayo, apan ang ikaduha dili ko na ikahatag.” Namauli ang mga mensahero ug gisulti nila kang Ben Hadad ang tubag ni Ahab.
10Nagpadala pag-usab si Ben Hadad ug mensahe kang Ahab, “Hinaut pa nga silotan ako sa mga dios sa labihan gayod kon dili ko malaglag sa hingpit ang Samaria. Sigurohon ko nga bisan abog walay mabilin nga bisan igo mahakop sa akong mga sundalo.” 11Mitubag ang hari sa Israel, “Ingna ninyo siya nga ang sundalo nga nangandam pa lang sa pagpakiggira dili angayng magpasigarbo sama sa sundalo nga nakahuman na sa pagpakiggira.” 12Nadawat ni Ben Hadad ang tubag ni Ahab samtang nagainom siya ug ang kauban niya nga mga hari didto sa ilang mga tolda. Unya gimandoan niya ang iyang mga tawo nga mangandam sa pagsulong sa Samaria. Ug gituman nila kini.
Gipildi ni Ahab si Ben Hadad
13Sa laing bahin, may miabot nga usa ka propeta nga miadto kang Ahab ug miingon, “Mao kini ang giingon sa Ginoo: Nakita mo ba ang labihan kadaghang mga sundalo ni Ben Hadad? Apan ipapildi ko sila kanimo karong adlawa, ug unya mahibaloan mo nga ako mao ang Ginoo.” 14Nangutana si Ahab, “Apan kinsa ang mopildi kanila?” Mitubag ang propeta, “Mao kini ang giingon sa Ginoo: ‘Ang mga batan-ong sundalo, nga ubos sa mga gobernador sa mga probinsya, mao ang mopildi kanila.’ ” Nangutana si Ahab, “Kinsa ang unang mosulong?” Mitubag ang propeta, “Kamo.”20:14 “Kinsa ang unang mosulong?” Mitubag ang propeta, “Kamo.”: o, Kinsa ang mangulo kanila sa pagpakiggira? Mitubag ang propeta, “Ikaw.”
15Busa gipatawag ni Ahab ang 232 ka mga batan-ong sundalo nga ubos sa pagdumala sa mga gobernador sa mga probinsya. 29Nagkampo nga nagaatbangay ang mga Israelinhon ug ang mga Aramehanon sulod sa pito ka adlaw. Ug sa ikapito ka adlaw naggira sila. Sa usa lang ka adlaw nakapatay ang mga Israelinhon ug 100,000 ka mga sundalo nga mga Aramehanon. 30Ang nahibiling mga Aramehanon nangikyas paingon sa lungsod sa Afek, diin ang 27,000 kanila nalumpagan sa paril sa lungsod.
