1Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. 2Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. 3And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. 4And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me. 5Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia. 6And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go. 7For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit. 8But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost. 9For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. 10Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do. 11Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren. 12As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time. 13Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. 14Let all your things be done with charity. 15I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,) 16That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth. 17I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied. 18For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.
19The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. 20All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss. 21The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand. 22If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha. 23The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 24My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

1Volg voor de collecte voor de arme gelovigen de richtlijnen die ik de gemeenten van Galatië heb gegeven. 2Die komen hierop neer, dat ieder van u elke zondag iets opzij moet leggen van wat hij heeft verdiend. Bewaar het tot ik bij u kom. 3Dan ligt het geld tenminste klaar en kan ik de mannen die u daarvoor aanwijst, deze gift naar Jeruzalem laten brengen. Ik zal hun enkele aanbevelingsbrieven meegeven, 4maar het kan ook zijn dat ik het de moeite waard vind zélf met hen mee te gaan. 5Nadat ik in Macedonië ben geweest, kom ik bij u. Want ik wil eerst naar Macedonië gaan 6en daarna een tijdje bij u blijven, misschien wel de hele winter. In dat geval kunt u mij meegeven wat ik voor mijn volgende reis nodig heb, al weet ik nu nog niet waar ik naar toe zal gaan. 7Deze keer wil ik niet alleen maar even bij u aankomen. Ik zou graag wat langer blijven als de Here het goed vindt. 8Ik blijf echter nog tot Pinksteren in Efeze, 9want hier liggen geweldige kansen om voor de Here te werken, al is de tegenstand ook niet gering.
10Als Timotheüs bij u komt, schrik hem dan niet af. Laat hij zich bij u thuisvoelen, want hij werkt net zo goed voor de Here als ik. 11Kijk niet op hem neer, maar help hem goed op weg, zodat hij naar mij toe kan komen. De broeders en ik kijken echt naar hem uit.
12Ik heb onze broeder Apollos dringend gevraagd met de andere broeders naar u toe te gaan. Maar hij wilde nu niet. Als hij later in de gelegenheid is, zal hij zeker komen.
13Wees op uw hoede, houd stand in het geloof, wees moedig en sterk. 14Wat u ook doet, doe het uit liefde. 15U kent Stefanas en zijn gezin wel. Zij waren de eersten in Achaje die gelovig werden en zetten zich volledig voor hun medegelovigen in. 16Ik wil graag dat u zich door hen laat leiden en door allen die zich voor u inspannen.
17Ik ben heel blij dat Stefanas, Fortunatas en Achaïcus hier zijn gekomen. Nu mis ik u niet meer zo erg. 18Zij hebben mij gerustgesteld en bemoedigd en u ook, natuurlijk. U moet zulke mannen waarderen.
19Alle gemeenten in Asia groeten u. Ook van Aquila en Prisca en de gemeente die in hun huis samenkomt, wil ik de hartelijke, christelijke groeten overbrengen. 20Alle broeders en zusters groeten u. Groet elkaar broederlijk, warm en hartelijk.
21De laatste groet schrijf ik zelf. 22Als iemand de Here niet liefheeft, is hij vervloekt. De Here Jezus komt terug! 23Ik wens u de genade van de Here Jezus toe. 24Mijn hart gaat uit naar u allen die bij Christus Jezus horen.
