11¶ And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salchah: 12Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan. 13And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven. 14These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz; 15Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers. 16And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.5.16 their…: Heb. their goings forth 17All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18¶ The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.5.18 valiant…: Heb. sons of valour 19And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab. 20And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him. 21And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.5.21 took…: Heb. led captive5.21 men: Heb. souls of men 22For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. 23¶ And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon. 24And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.5.24 famous…: Heb. men of names

25¶ And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them. 26And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.

Ang Lahi ni Reuben

1Si Reuben ang panganay na anak ni Israel,5:1 Israel: o, Jacob. pero dahil nakipagtalik siya sa isa sa mga asawa ng kanyang ama, ang karapatan niya bilang panganay ay ibinigay sa mga anak ni Jose na kanyang kapatid. Kaya hindi siya inilista sa talaan ng lahi nila bilang panganay na anak. 2Kahit mas makapangyarihan si Juda kaysa sa kanyang mga kapatid at ang pinuno ay nagmula sa kanyang lahi, ang karapatan ng pagkapanganay ay ibinigay kay Jose. 3Ito ang mga anak na lalaki ni Reuben na panganay ni Israel: sina Hanoc, Pallu, Hezron at Carmi.

4Ito ang mga angkan ni Joel: sina Shemaya, Gog, Shimei, 5Micas, Reaya, Baal, 6at Beera. Si Beera ang pinuno ng lahi ni Reuben nang binihag sila ni Haring Tiglat Pileser5:6 Tiglat Pileser: o, Pilneser. ng Asiria. 7Ito ang mga kamag-anak ni Beera na naitala sa talaan ng kanilang mga angkan ayon sa kanilang lahi: si Jeyel na pinuno, si Zacarias, 8at si Bela na anak ni Azaz na anak ni Shema at apo ni Joel. Ito ang lahi ni Reuben na tumira mula sa Aroer hanggang sa Nebo at Baal Meon. 9At dahil dumami ang kanilang hayop doon sa Gilead, tumira sila hanggang sa silangan, sa tabi ng ilang na papunta sa Ilog ng Eufrates. 10Nang si Saul pa ang hari, nakipaglaban sila sa mga Hagreo at tinalo nila ang mga ito. Sinakop nila ang mga tinitirhan ng mga Hagreo sa buong silangan ng Gilead.

Ang Lahi ni Gad

11Tumira ang lahi ni Gad sa lupain ng Bashan na kasunod ng lupain nina Reuben, hanggang sa Saleca. 12Ito ang lahi ni Gad: si Joel, na siyang pinuno sa Bashan, ang sumunod sa kanya ay si Shafam, pagkatapos ay sina Janai at Shafat. 13Ang kanilang mga kamag-anak ayon sa bawat pamilya ay sina Micael, Meshulam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia at Eber – pito silang lahat. 14Sila ang mga angkan ni Abihail na anak ni Huri. Si Huri ang anak ni Jaroa at apo ni Gilead, at apo sa tuhod ni Micael. Si Micael ay anak ni Jeshishai at apo ni Jado, at apo sa tuhod ni Buz. 15Si Ahi na anak ni Abdiel at apo ni Guni ang siyang pinuno ng kanilang pamilya. 16Tumira sila sa Gilead doon sa Bashan at sa mga baryo sa paligid nito, at sa buong pastulan ng Sharon. 17Nailista silang lahat sa talaan ng mga angkan noong panahon ng paghahari ni Jotam sa Juda at ni Jeroboam sa Israel.

18May 44,760 sundalo sa mga lahi nina Reuben, Gad, at sa kalahating lahi ni Manase. Sinanay sila para sa labanan at mahusay silang gumamit ng mga pananggalang, espada at pana. 19Nakipaglaban sila sa mga Hagreo, Jetureo, Nafiseo, at Nodabeo. 20Humingi sila ng tulong sa Dios nang nakipaglaban sila, at dahil nagtiwala sila sa kanya, tinugon ng Dios ang panalangin nila. Kaya pinagtagumpay sila ng Dios sa mga Hagreo at sa mga kakampi nito. 21Pinagkukuha nila ang hayop ng mga Hagreo: 50,000 kamelyo, 250,000 tupa at 2,000 asno. Binihag din nila ang 100,000 tao, 22at marami silang napatay dahil tinulungan sila ng Dios sa pakikipaglaban. Tinirhan nila ang mga lugar na ito hanggang sa mabihag sila ng ibang bansa.

Ang Kalahating Lahi ni Manase

23Ang kalahating angkan ni Manase ay napakarami. Tumira sila sa mga lupain mula sa Bashan papunta sa Baal Hermon, Senir, at Bundok ng Hermon. At napakarami nila. 24Ito ang mga pinuno ng kanilang mga pamilya: sina Efer, Ishi, Eliel Azriel, Jeremias, Hodavia at Jadiel. Matatapang silang mandirigma at tanyag na mga pinuno ng mga pamilya nila. 25Pero hindi sila naging tapat sa Dios ng kanilang mga ninuno, sa halip sumamba sila sa mga dios ng mga taong nilipol ng Dios sa lupaing iyon. 26Ito ang dahilan kung bakit niloob ng Dios ng Israel na lusubin sila ni Pul na hari ng Asiria (na siya ring si Tiglat Pileser). Binihag ni Pul ang mga lahi ni Reuben at Gad, pati na ang kalahating lahi ni Manase at dinala sa Hala, Habor, Hara, at sa Ilog ng Gozan, kung saan doon sila naninirahan hanggang ngayon.
