По Закону за поклонение Молоху исраильтянам грозила смертная казнь (см. Лев. 18:21; 20:2-5). – корона весила тридцать шесть килограммов20:2 Букв.: «один талант». и была украшена драгоценным камнем – и возложил её на свою голову20:2 Или: «Давуд взял камень с этой короны и поместил его на свою». Существует также мнение, что упомянутые 36 кг золота относились не к весу короны, а к её стоимости.. Давуд взял в городе богатую добычу. 3Он вывел жителей, которые были в нём, заставив их работать пилами, железными кирками и топорами. Давуд поступил так со всеми аммонитскими городами. После этого Давуд со всем своим войском вернулся в Иерусалим.
Войны с филистимлянами
(2 Цар. 21:18-22)
4Некоторое время спустя в Гезере началась война с филистимлянами. Тогда хушатянин Сиббехай убил Сафа20:4 Букв.: «Сипая»; во 2 Лет. 21:18 он назван Сафом., одного из потомков рефаитов (народа гигантов), и филистимляне были усмирены.
5В другом сражении с филистимлянами Элханан, сын Иаира, убил Лахми, брата Голиафа из Гата, у которого древко копья было большое, как ткацкий навой.
6Позже произошло сражение в Гате, где был некий человек огромного роста, у которого было по шесть пальцев на каждой руке и на каждой ноге – всего двадцать четыре. Он также был потомком рефаитов. 7Когда он насмехался над Исраилом, Ионафан, сын Шимеи, брата Давуда, убил его.
8Эти люди были потомками рефаитов в Гате и пали от рук Давуда и его людей.
