ルベンの子孫
1イスラエルの長男はルベンでしたが、彼は父のそばめの一人と寝て、父の顔に泥を塗るようなことをしたので、長子の権利は腹違いの弟ヨセフのものになりました。それで公式の系図には、ルベンが長男として記されていないのです。
2さて、ヨセフには長子の権利があったものの、イスラエルのうちで最も有力な部族の先祖になったのはユダでした。このユダ部族から君主が出ることになります。
3イスラエルの子ルベンの子はエノク、パル、ヘツロン、カルミ。
4ヨエルの子孫は、その子シェマヤ、孫ゴグ、曾孫シムイ。
5シムイの子はミカ、孫はレアヤ、曾孫はバアル。
6バアルの子はベエラ。ベエラはルベン族の長で、アッシリヤの王ティグラテ・ピレセルの捕囚として引いて行かれました。
7-8彼の親族は氏族の長となり、公式の系図に記されています。
エイエル、ゼカリヤ、それにアザズの子、シェマの孫、ヨエルの曾孫のベラ。
これらのルベン人はアロエルに住み、ネボ山やバアル・メオンのような遠くに住む者もいました。
9ヨエルは家畜を飼っていましたが、ギルアデの地で家畜が増えたので、その放牧地は、東の荒野の入口からユーフラテス川に及びました。
10サウル王の時代に、ルベン人はハガル人と戦って勝ったのでギルアデ東部に移り、そこに住むようになりました。
ガドの子孫
11ガドの子孫は、ルベン人の真向かいのバシャンに住み、サルカにまで居住範囲を広げました。
12ヨエルが長で、その次にシャファム、そして、ヤナイとシャファテがいました。 13その一族の七つの氏族の長は、ミカエル、メシュラム、シェバ、ヨライ、ヤカン、ジア、エベルでした。
14ブズの子孫は、系図をたどると次のとおりになります。
ヤフド、エシシャイ、ミカエル、ギルアデ、ヤロアハ、フリ、アビハイル。
15アブディエルの子、グニの孫アヒは、その一族の指導者でした。 16一族は、バシャンの地のギルアデとその周辺、ならびにシャロンの牧草地全域に住んでいました。 17彼らはみな、ユダの王ヨタムとイスラエルの王ヤロブアムの時代に、公式の系図に載せられました。
18ルベン、ガド、マナセの半部族の軍隊のうちには四万四、七六〇人の、特に訓練された精鋭部隊がいました。 19彼らはハガル人、エトル人、ナフィシュ人、ノダブ人と戦いましたが、 20ひたすら神に信頼したので祈りが聞かれ、ハガル人とその連合軍をみごとに打ち破ることができました。 21戦利品は、らくだ五万頭、羊二十五万頭、ろば二千頭、捕虜十万人にのぼりました。 22敵軍の大半は神を向こうに回して戦ったため、戦場で倒れました。そこでルベン人は、のちに捕囚としてアッシリヤへ連れ去られるまで、ハガル人の領土に住みました。
マナセの子孫（半部族）
23マナセの半部族は、このバシャンの地から、バアル・ヘルモン、セニル、ヘルモン山に至る各地に広がり、増えていきました。
24その各氏族の長は次のとおり。
エフェル、イシュイ、エリエル、アズリエル、エレミヤ、ホダブヤ、ヤフディエル。彼らはみな勇士で、すぐれた指導者としても知られていました。 25ところが、彼らは父祖の神に忠誠を尽くさず、神が滅ぼされた国々の偶像を拝みました。 26そこで神は、ティグラテ・ピレセル三世として知られるアッシリヤの王プルにこの地を侵略させ、ルベン族とガド族、それにマナセの半部族を捕囚として引いて行かせました。彼らはハラフ、ハボル、ハラ、およびゴザン川に移され、今なお、そこにとどまっています。

11¶ And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salchah: 12Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan. 13And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven. 14These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz; 15Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers. 16And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.5.16 their…: Heb. their goings forth 17All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

25¶ And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them. 26And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.
