創世記 46:1-34

46

ヤコブ、エジプトへ

1イスラエル(ヤコブ)は彼に属するすべてのものとともに出発し、ベエル・シェバまで来ると、そこで父イサクの神にいけにえをささげました。 2やがて夜になり、幻の中で神の語りかける声がありました。

「ヤコブ、ヤコブ。」

「はい。」

3-4「わたしは神、あなたの父の神だ。エジプトへ行くのを恐れてはならない。大きな国になるよう、あなたを守ろう。わたしもいっしょにエジプトへ下り、時がきたら、あなたの子孫を再びここに連れ帰る。あなたはエジプトで、ヨセフに看取られながら死ぬだろう。」

5それからヤコブはベエル・シェバを発ちました。息子たちはヤコブを、エジプトの王からもらった荷馬車に乗せました。女性や子どもたちもいっしょです。 6また、家畜と、カナンの地で手に入れた全財産も持って行きました。ヤコブをはじめ、 7息子、娘、孫と、一族こぞってエジプトへ移住したのです。

8-14ヤコブといっしょにエジプトに行った息子と孫は、次のとおりです。

長男ルベンとその息子エノク、パル、ヘツロン、カルミ。シメオンとその息子エムエル、ヤミン、オハデ、ヤキン、ツォハル、それから、カナン人の母親を持つサウル。レビとその息子ゲルション、ケハテ、メラリ。ユダとその息子エル、オナン、シェラ、ペレツ、ゼラフ〔エルとオナンはエジプトへ行く前にカナンで死んだ〕。ペレツの息子ヘツロンとハムル。イッサカルとその息子トラ、プワ、ヨブ、シムロン。ゼブルンとその息子セレデ、エロン、ヤフレエル。 15以上は、パダン・アラムでヤコブとレアの間に生まれた息子とその孫で、娘ディナを除いて総勢三十三人でした。

16-17このほかに、ガドとその息子ツィフヨン、ハギ、シュニ、エツボン、エリ、アロディ、アルエリ。アシェルとその息子イムナ、イシュワ、イシュビ、ベリア、妹セラフ。ベリアの息子ヘベル、マルキエル。 18以上十六人は、ラバンが上の娘レアに与えた奴隷ジルパとヤコブの間に生まれた息子と孫です。

19-22この一族には、ヤコブとラケルに生まれた息子と孫、合わせて十四名も含まれます。ヨセフとベニヤミン。エジプトで生まれたヨセフの息子はマナセとエフライム〔母親はヘリオポリスの祭司ポティ・フェラの娘アセナテ〕。ベニヤミンの息子はベラ、ベケル、アシュベル、ゲラ、ナアマン、エヒ、ロシュ、ムピム、フピム、アルデ。

23-25さらに、ラバンが下の娘ラケルに与えた奴隷ビルハとヤコブの間に生まれた息子と孫、合わせて七人も含まれます。ダンとその息子フシム。ナフタリとその息子ヤフツェエル、グニ、エツェル、シレム。

26エジプトへ下ったヤコブの子孫は、ヤコブの息子たちの妻を除いて総勢六十六名でした。 27ヨセフとその二人の息子、それにヤコブ自身を加えると、エジプトでのヤコブの一族は七十名になります。

28ヤコブはユダを先に送り、まもなくゴシェンに到着すると、ヨセフに伝えました。やがて、一行はゴシェンに着きました。 29ヨセフは馬車で駆けつけ、父親を出迎えました。二人はしっかり抱き合ってただ泣くばかりです。 30「こうしておまえの顔を見られるとは、夢にも思わなかった。無事でほんとうによかった。もう思い残すことはない。これで安心して死ねる。」イスラエルは涙ながらに言いました。

31ヨセフは彼らに言いました。「これから王のところへ上がります。一族の者がカナンから到着したと報告しなければなりませんから。 32その時、『一族の者はみな、羊飼いで、羊や牛の群れを連れ、全財産を携えて来ました』と申し上げておきます。 33あとで王のお召しがあり、職業は何かと聞かれたら、 34『先祖代々の羊飼いで、私どもも若い時からずっと羊を飼っております』と答えてください。そう申し上げれば、このゴシェンの地に住まわせてもらえるでしょう。エジプト人は羊飼いを軽蔑し、嫌っていますから、いっしょには住まないのです。」

Genesis 46:1-34

1And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. 2And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. 3And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: 4I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.

5And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. 6And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him: 7His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.

8¶ And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn. 9And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.

10¶ And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.46.10 Jemuel: or, Nemuel46.10 Jachin: or, Jarib46.10 Zohar: or, Zerah

11¶ And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.46.11 Gershon: or, Gershom

12¶ And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.

13¶ And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.46.13 Phuvah, and Job: or, Puah, and Jashub

14¶ And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel. 15These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.

16¶ And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.46.16 Ziphion: or, Zephon46.16 Ezbon: or, Ozni46.16 Arodi: or, Arod

17¶ And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel. 18These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls. 19The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.

20¶ And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.46.20 priest: or, prince

21¶ And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.46.21 Ehi: or, Ahiram46.21 Muppim: or, Shupham or, Shuppim46.21 Huppim: or, Hupham 22These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.

23¶ And the sons of Dan; Hushim.46.23 Hushim: or, Shuham

24¶ And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem. 25These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven. 26All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;46.26 loins: Heb. thigh 27And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.

28¶ And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen. 29And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. 30And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive. 31And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me; 32And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.46.32 their trade…: Heb. they are men of cattle 33And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation? 34That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
