ぶどう園のたとえ話
1それからイエスは、たとえを使って人々に話し始められました。「ある農園主がぶどう園を造り、垣根を巡らし、ぶどうの汁をしぼる穴を掘り、見張りのやぐらを建てました。そして、このぶどう園を農夫たちに貸し、外国へ出かけました。 2ぶどうの収穫の季節になったので、農園主は代理の者をやり、分け前を受け取ろうとしました。 3けれども農夫たちは、代理の者を袋だたきにしたあげく、手ぶらで送り返したのです。
4そこで、もう一人の代理人を送りましたが、彼も同じような仕打ちを受け、しかも頭にひどいけがを負いました。 5農園主はまた別の人を送りました。事もあろうに、農夫たちはその人を殺してしまいました。そのあとも次々に人が送られましたが、みな袋だたきにされたり、殺されたりして、 6残るは、農園主の息子だけになりました。愛するたった一人の息子でした。農園主は、『息子だったら、農夫たちも敬意を持ってくれるだろう』と思い、ついにその息子を送り出しました。
7ところが、農夫たちは息子を見ると、『絶好のチャンスだ。ぶどう園の跡取りを殺してしまえば、ここは自分たちのものになる』とばかり、 8息子を捕らえて殺し、死体をぶどう園の外に放り出しました。
9農園主がこのことを知ったら、どうすると思いますか。すぐさま帰って来て、農夫たちを皆殺しにし、ぶどう園はほかの人たちに貸すでしょう。 10あなたがたは、聖書にこう書いてあるのを読んだことがないのですか。
『建築士たちの捨てた石が、
最も重要な土台石となった。
11なんとすばらしいことか。
主はなんと驚くべきことをなさる方か。』（詩篇118・22-23）」
敵のわなを見破る
12このたとえ話を聞いた祭司長やユダヤ人の指導者たちは、その悪い農夫が自分たちを指していることに気づき、イエスを捕らえようと思いましたが、群衆の暴動がこわくて手出しができません。しかたなく、イエスをそのままにして、そそくさと立ち去りました。 13それでも、何とかして逮捕の口実をつかもうと、パリサイ派やヘロデ党（ヘロデ王を支持する政治的な一派）の者たちを送りました。
14彼らはイエスに尋ねました。「先生。あなたのおっしゃることは、いちいちごもっともです。あなたは私利私欲にとらわれず、まじめに神の道を教えておられます。つきましては、ちょっとお尋ねしたいのですが、ローマ政府に税金を納めるのは正しいことでしょうか。それとも、正しくないことでしょうか。」
15彼らのわなを見破ったイエスは、「なぜ、わたしを試すのですか。銀貨を見せなさい」と言われました。
16そして銀貨を受け取ると、彼らにこうお尋ねになりました。
「この銀貨に刻んである肖像と名前はだれのものですか。」「ローマ皇帝のものです。」
17「そのとおりです。皇帝のものなら、皇帝に返しなさい。しかし、神のものはすべて、神に返さなければなりません。」これを聞いて、彼らは頭をかかえ込んでしまいました。
18次に、復活などありえないと主張していたサドカイ派（神殿を支配していた祭司階級。ユダヤ教の主流派）の人たちがやって来ました。
19「先生。モーセの律法によると、ある男が結婚して子どもがないまま死んだ場合、弟が兄の未亡人と結婚して、生まれた子どもに兄のあとを継がせることになっています。 20-22ところで、ここに七人兄弟がいたとしましょう。長男は結婚しましたが、子どもがないまま死に、残された未亡人は次男の妻になりました。ところが次男も子どもができずに死んだので、その妻は三男のものになりました。三男も四男も同じことで、ついにこの女は、七人兄弟全部の妻になりましたが、結局、子どもはできずじまいでした。最後に、この未亡人も死にました。
23そこでお尋ねしたいのですが、復活の時、この女はいったいだれの妻になるのでしょう。七人とも彼女を妻にしたのですが。」
24イエスはお答えになりました。「聖書も神の力もわかっていないようですね。全く思い違いをしています。 25復活の時には、結婚などはないのです。みんなが天の使いのようになるのですから。
26それに、復活のあるなしについては、聖書の、モーセと燃える柴の箇所を読んだことがないのですか。神はモーセに、『わたしはアブラハムの神、イサクの神、ヤコブの神である』（出エジプト3・6）と言われました。
27実際には、これらの人たちは数百年も前に死んでいたのに、神はモーセに、彼らはなお生きていると教えられたのです。そうでなければ、すでに存在していない人の『神である』などと、おっしゃるはずがありません。あなたがたは、この点で決定的にまちがっています。」
28イエスのそばで、この見事な返答ぶりを聞いていた一人のユダヤ教の教師が、「先生。すべての戒めの中で、どれが一番重要な戒めでしょうか」と尋ねました。
29「『イスラエルよ、聞け。主なる神こそ、ただひとりの神です。 30心を尽くし、たましいを尽くし、思いを尽くし、力を尽くして、あなたの主を愛しなさい。』（申命6・4-5）これが最も重要な戒めです。
31第二は、『自分を愛するように、あなたの隣人を愛しなさい』（レビ19・18）という戒めです。これ以上に重要な戒めはありません。」
32「先生。あなたは今、神様はおひとりで、ほかに神はいないとおっしゃいましたが、まさにそのとおりです。 33そして、神殿の祭壇にどんな供え物をささげるよりも、『心を尽くし、思いを尽くし、力を尽くして主を愛し、また隣人を自分と同じように愛する』ことのほうが、ずっと大切です。」
34この賢明な答えに感心したイエスは、「あなたは神の国から遠くない」と言われました。そのあとはもう、だれも、あえてイエスに質問しようとはしませんでした。
35その後、神殿の境内で教えておられた時、イエスはこうお尋ねになりました。「ユダヤ教の教師たちは、どうしてキリストがダビデ王の子だと言いはるのですか。 36ダビデ自身が、といっても、ほんとうは聖霊がダビデを通して語られたのですが、こう言っているではありませんか。
『神が私の主に言われた。
「わたしがあなたの敵を
あなたの足台とするまで、
わたしの右に座っていなさい。」』（詩篇110・1）
37ダビデがキリストを主と呼んでいるのなら、どうしてキリストがダビデの子でありうるでしょうか。」こういう議論に群衆は好奇心を募らせ、イエスの話に聞き入っていました。
38イエスは、ほかにも次のような話をなさいました。「ユダヤ教の教師たちを警戒しなさい。彼らは見るからに学者らしいぜいたくなガウンをはおったり、広場で人からあいさつされたりするのが、何よりうれしいのです。 39また、会堂で特別席に座ったり、宴会で上座に着いたりするのも大好きです。 40裏では、恥知らずにも、未亡人の家を食いものにしながら、人前では長々と祈り、これ見よがしに神を敬うふりをしています。こういう人たちは、人一倍きびしい罰を受けるのです。」
41それから、神殿の献金箱のそばに座り、人々がお金を投げ入れる様子をじっと見ておられました。多くの金持ちが気前よく大金をささげているところへ、 42みすぼらしい身なりの未亡人がやって来て、そっと小額の硬貨二枚を投げ入れました。
43-44それをごらんになったイエスは、弟子たちを呼び寄せて、こう言われました。「あの貧しい未亡人は、どの金持ちよりも、はるかに多く投げ入れたのです。金持ちはあり余る中からほんの少しばかりささげたのに、この女は、乏しい中から持っている全部をささげたのですから。」
1And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. 2And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. 3And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. 4And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. 5And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. 6Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. 7But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours. 8And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. 9What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. 10And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: 11This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 12And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
13¶ And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words. 14And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Cæsar, or not? 15Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it. 16And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Cæsar’s. 17And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Cæsar the things that are Cæsar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.
18¶ Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying, 19Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man’s brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 20Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. 21And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise. 22And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also. 23In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife. 24And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. 26And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
28¶ And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 32And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
35¶ And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David? 36For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 37David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.
38¶ And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, 39And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: 40Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.
41¶ And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 43And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
