エルサレムの新しい名
1私はシオンを愛し、エルサレムを心から慕っています。
だからこそ、エルサレムが正義をまとって
まぶしく輝き、救いによって栄光を放つまでは、
この都のために祈るのをやめたり、
神に叫ぶのをやめたりしません。
2やがて国々はあなたの正義に気がつき、
王たちはあなたの栄光に目がくらむようになります。
あなたは神から、新しい名を頂きます。
3神はあなたを御手の中に抱きしめ、
すべての者に見えるように高く上げます。
あなたは、王の王である方の、
光り輝く冠となるのです。
4もう二度と、「神に見捨てられた地」とか
「神が忘れてしまった地」とか呼ばれません。
新しい名は「神が喜ぶ地」また「花嫁」です。
主があなたを喜び、ご自分のものにするからです。
5エルサレムよ、あなたの子らは、
おとめをめとる若者のような喜びをもって、
あなたを世話します。
神は、花婿が花嫁を喜ぶように、
あなたを喜びます。
6-7エルサレムよ、私は城壁の上に見張りを置きました。
その人が昼となく夜となく、
約束の成就を神に祈り求めるためです。
祈る人たちよ、少しでも手を抜いてはいけません。
神がエルサレムをしっかり建て上げ、
全地の人の尊敬と称賛の的とされるまでは、
神の手を休ませてはいけません。
8主はエルサレムに、心をこめて誓いました。
「再びあなたを敵の手に渡さない。
再び外国の兵士に穀物とぶどう酒を
横取りさせない。
9自分で栽培したものは自分の口に入れ、
わたしをたたえるようになる。
神殿の内庭で、手づくりのぶどう酒を飲む。
10さあ、行って、
わたしの民が帰って来るための道を整えよ。
土を盛り、石を除き、イスラエルの旗を高く掲げよ。」
11見なさい。
主はあらゆる国に使者を送って、こう言わせました。
「わたしの民に、神である主が、
たくさんの贈り物を持って
あなたを救いに行く。」
12彼らは「聖なる国民」「主に買い取られた者」
と呼ばれ、
エルサレムは「慕わしい地」「神が祝福した都」
と呼ばれるようになります。
Zion’s new name
1For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,
till her vindication shines out like the dawn,
her salvation like a blazing torch.
2The nations will see your vindication,
and all kings your glory;
you will be called by a new name
that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.
3You will be a crown of splendour in the Lord’s hand,
a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
4No longer will they call you Deserted,
or name your land Desolate.
But you will be called Hephzibah,62:4 Hephzibah means my delight is in her.
and your land Beulah62:4 Beulah means married.;
for the Lord will take delight in you,
and your land will be married.
5As a young man marries a young woman,
so will your Builder marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,
so will your God rejoice over you.
6I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord,
give yourselves no rest,
7and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem
and makes her the praise of the earth.
8The Lord has sworn by his right hand
and by his mighty arm:
‘Never again will I give your grain
as food for your enemies,
and never again will foreigners drink the new wine
for which you have toiled;
9but those who harvest it will eat it
and praise the Lord,
and those who gather the grapes will drink it
in the courts of my sanctuary.’
10Pass through, pass through the gates!
Prepare the way for the people.
Build up, build up the highway!
Remove the stones.
Raise a banner for the nations.
11The Lord has made proclamation
to the ends of the earth:
‘Say to Daughter Zion,
“See, your Saviour comes!
See, his reward is with him,
and his recompense accompanies him.” ’
12They will be called the Holy People,
the Redeemed of the Lord;
and you will be called Sought After,
the City No Longer Deserted.
