1Zing een nieuw lied voor de Here,
laat de hele aarde maar meezingen.
2Zing een loflied voor de Here
tot eer van zijn naam,
vertel ieder over zijn uitredding, dag in, dag uit.
3Vertel alle volken hoe groot Hij is
en welke machtige wonderen Hij doet.
4De Here is immers groot en machtig?
Hij is het waard van harte te worden geprezen,
roemrucht is zijn naam.
5De goden van alle andere volken zijn maar afgoden,
de Here heeft de hemel gemaakt.
6Zijn grootheid en macht gaan voor Hem uit
en zijn kracht en eer omringen Hem.
7Laten alle mensen, van elk volk en elke generatie,
de Here eer geven.
Laten zij allemaal zijn macht en kracht prijzen.
8Prijs de grootheid van de naam van de Here.
Kom naar zijn huis en breng Hem uw offers.
9Doe uw mooiste kleren aan en buig u voor de Here neer.
Laat de hele aarde beven als Hij komt.
10Zeg tegen de volken: de Here is de grote Koning.
De wereld is stevig gefundeerd.
God zal een rechtvaardig oordeel over de volken uitspreken.
11Er is blijdschap in de hemel en de aarde jubelt het uit.
De zee bruist van vreugde, samen met alles wat erin is.
12Ook de velden en alles wat daarop leeft, verheugen zich.
De bomen in de bossen jubelen.
13Dat is voor de Here, want Hij komt
om zijn oordeel over de aarde uit te spreken.
Hij zal in oprechtheid over de wereld rechtspreken
en zijn trouw aan alle volken bekendmaken.

3Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
4For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
5For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.
6Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

12Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
