2Here van de hemelse legers,
wat zijn uw woningen prachtig!
3Ik smacht van verlangen om bij U te komen.
Mijn ziel en mijn lichaam zingen uw lof,
de lof van de God die leeft.
4Uw ogen zien zelfs een mus
die een plekje zoekt om te nestelen,
zelfs het nest van de zwaluw
ontgaat U niet, noch haar jongen.
Ook zij zijn welkom in uw tempel,
Here van de hemelse legers.
U bent mijn Koning en mijn God.
5Gelukkig zijn de mensen
die heel dicht bij U leven,
zij zingen lofliederen voor U.
6Gelukkig zijn de mensen
die uw kracht kennen en ervaren,
zij weten hoe zij op uw weg moeten blijven.
7Wanneer zij in hun leven door een donker dal gaan,
ontspringen daar opeens allemaal bronnen.
Problemen veranderen in zegeningen.
8Zij leven door uw kracht
en worden altijd door U beschermd.
Zij ontmoeten God in Sion, waar Hij woont.
9Och Here, God van de hemelse legers,
luister toch naar mijn gebed.
Luister goed naar mij, God van Jakob.
10God, U beschermt ons.
Kijk naar de man die U hebt uitgekozen.
11Ik ben liever maar heel kort bij U,
dan jarenlang in een omgeving
waar men U niet kent.
Ik heb liever de minste plaats in uw huis
dan een ereplaats in een huis
waar men met U spot.
12God de Here is het licht in mijn leven.
Hij beschermt mij altijd.
Hij schenkt vergeving
en herstelt ons in ere.
Mensen die volkomen naar zijn wil leven,
worden rijk door Hem gezegend.
13Here van de hemelse legers,
gelukkig is hij die zijn vertrouwen op U stelt.
