Ik zit zo diep in de put, Here,
en ik roep naar U.
2Luister naar mij, Here.
Laten uw oren naar mij luisteren.
3Here, als U al onze zonden blijft onthouden,
kunnen wij immers niet blijven leven?
4Maar ik weet dat U vergeeft,
zodat iedereen ontzag voor U zal hebben.
5Ik verwacht alles van de Here.
Ik ken zijn woord en heb er alle vertrouwen in.
6Ik zie uit naar de Here.
Ik zie naar Hem uit met nog meer verlangen
dan de nachtwachter uitkijkt naar de nieuwe morgen.
7Laten de Israëlieten al hun vertrouwen op de Here stellen,
want de Here is rijk aan goedheid en liefde.
Hij zorgt voor de bevrijding.
8Hij zal het volk Israël bevrijden
van al zijn zonden.

1Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.
2Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
5I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

7Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
